Excellent service, fantastic location, and historically-interesting hotel. We booked a canava suite, which is a bit too cave-like (i.e., dark with no windows). Would book another room. Hard-working staff who were at the ready to help with getting cabs and any other services. They really try to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. Pygros is a really great town that is filled with stores and tavernas at every turn, and not nearly as crowded as other areas. Recommend the Zannos.

We stayed at this property as it came as a package. Very unusual hotel where the main building is a good 50 odd meters away from the rooms. Plus being on a hill it was not easy to go up and down. We had taken half board. Breakfast though was good the service is not so. One server and one cook. Dinner was good and the compliments go to the sole cook. We were offered a room with a jacuzzi which was out of order and only fixed on the penultimate day. Couldn't still use it as it didn't heat up. Maybe coming to end of the season the hotel didn't think it was worth the money. Even though there was kettle in the room there was no tea or coffee. Had to ask. If you have weak knees or mobility issues stay away from all hotels in Pyrgos as you will have a lot of climbing to do. A note to the management and the owners; please look after your current staff. They bent over backwards to please the guest. They needed extra help and were struggling. It doesn't happen in a proper 5 star hotel.

We went to this hotel thinking that it was a luxurious 5 star hotel but it is far from that. The rooms are actually quite nice, but there are a few things that definitely disappoint. The room my friend was given had a ‘hot tub’ but it was dirty when we checked in. They actually cleaned it within an hour but it was cold, they never fixed that for the whole duration of our stay, so never went in. They fixed this situation by granting us access to a bigger hot tub (but other guests had access as well). The breakfast is probably the worst part. There is no buffet and you need to choose from a menu. It was unbelievable to see that they were missing so many things; the first day they did not even have milk for the coffee. They also never had fruit (either had run out or the delivery had not arrived…). One of the days they also had run out of butter. I would say that 3 star hotels have better breakfasts than this one. In terms of cleannesses, the rooms were clean overall but noticed that one of the towels was stained in red. Again not the 5* you would think it is meant to be. The location grants you great views but be prepared to walk up and down a lot to get there. Definitely not accessible for people with reduced mobility. In terms of staff, they was nice, some of them quite serious, there was an American guy working there who was very nice, and also the lady who worked at the kitchen was really nice.
