This is one of the most wonderful hotels I have stayed at! The entire staff were amazing. Friendly yet professional. The service through the hotel and the restaurant were second to none. The room was beautiful. Lots of space with a wonderful comfortable bed that had a selection of pillows. The outdoor plunge pool and views of the Caldera will stay with us for forever. Beautiful sunsets for sure! The pool area was lovely and lots of choice of sun beds. Good level of chill out music to relax and unwind. Very well maintained property. And the Souvlaki at lunch is a must!

“Not as great as expected”

Upon arriving at Rocabella Hotel for a wedding, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member, either Christo or Chris (apologies, I can't quite recall). Another couple from the wedding arrived with us around noon, so we anticipated waiting for our rooms to be ready. The hotel’s view is truly breathtaking and probably its most remarkable feature, with the clean and stylish pool area adding to the appeal. As we waited at the pool bar, we noticed that other guests, who arrived later and were not part of the wedding group, were promptly assigned rooms. This left us confused, especially since we had been waiting for hours. After 3:30 PM, only after the bride and groom intervened, were we finally shown to our rooms. During this second tour, we were informed that breakfast was not complimentary, despite the hotel's website indicating otherwise. When we politely raised this discrepancy, Chris became defensive and even rude. We didn’t want to make a scene, so we let the issue go, but his reaction was unexpected and unpleasant. Once settled, we found the room to be comfortable—quiet with good AC and decent Wi-Fi, though the TV was quite poor. The hotel service overall was helpful, especially with arranging taxis through WhatsApp. The on-site restaurant, while convenient, is overpriced for the quality of food, which was fairly average. The breakfast, which we ended up paying for, was disappointing—odd flavors and textures all around. Honestly, if it had been complimentary, I wouldn’t have been so critical, but considering the price, it wasn’t up to standard. As for the gym, it’s a complete letdown. If you're into fitness, be warned—the so-called "gym" is a small room with two subpar cardio machines. It’s misleading to even advertise this as a gym. A critical point that travelers should be aware of: water. No one at the hotel warns you not to drink the tap water, but thankfully a taxi driver did. Unfortunately, when I needed water early in the morning, I couldn’t find any available. The only solution from the hotel staff was to wait until the restaurant opened at 7 AM! The tiny complimentary bottles in the mini-bar were nowhere near enough, and purchasing bottled water at 4 euros each quickly became frustrating. It's ridiculous that in a "luxury" hotel, there isn’t easily accessible, complimentary potable water. Note to management: This hotel has a lot of potential, but there are a few areas that need attention. Some of your staff could use training in handling guest concerns more professionally. Most importantly, accessible water should be a standard offering, especially at a property marketed as luxury. Even just a water fountain would go a long way. Fix your website and stopped calling it complimentary breakfast that felt like a scam. Paying for a mediocre breakfast didnt feel good.
