“Awesome Hotel and location.”

Nicely set up hotel. We had two side by side rooms with a shared balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was great. Very clean hotel, friendly service. The location was one block from the central buses, and convenient to all shops and dining

A great way to start our Greek island trip with a three night stay here at Nissos Thira. The room is clean and comfortable, the shower was nice and hot. The pool was open and refreshing. A great way to start our Greek island trip with a three night stay here at Nissos Thira. The room is clean and comfortable, the shower was nice and hot. The pool was open and refreshing. We enjoyed lounging in the chairs in the sunshine. Breakfast every morning was delicious. Perfectly located only five minutes from the main bus terminal, and only five minutes from all the main streets, restaurants, and shops. The entire staff was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

“Adequate at best”

We paid almost £220 for one night at this hotel and can only describe it as adequate at best. This cost was simply because it is in Thira not for any luxury. We paid almost £220 for one night at this hotel and can only describe it as adequate at best. This cost was simply because it is in Thira not for any luxury. It was right on an extremely busy, and quite frankly dangerous, road. There were no facilities to speak of. We weren't departing until 17:30 in the evening but were told there were no changing or shower facilities available. We ended up showering by the pool with a garden hose then getting changed in the toilet! There was no bar so no drinks or snacks available. Our room was quite large but the beds were small singles. The bedspreads had clearly not been washed and had stains on them. The bathroom had been painted an odd gray colour and resembled a prison cell. The toilet cistern dripped all night. The shower was actually quite good but the shower head needed de scaling and a good clean. Thank god we only booked one night as there was a green light above the door which lit up the entire room so it was impossible to sleep. We also had the main fuse board in our room which was a bit odd. Breakfast was extremely basic (see photo below). So the good points.... The hotel was mostly very clean. The staff were helpful and very nice. The pool was really clean and very nice, although it was very overlooked by neighbouring houses and building works next door. The surrounding roads were very noisy. Generally I wouldn't go back to Thira. The view and the sunset were amazing but we had to pay €26 for a G&T and a small beer to sit and watch it. The streets were very crowded. There was rubbish and litter everywhere and the constant traffic was awful. Everything was a lot more expensive than elsewhere on the island. I much preferred Kamari.
