“The best holidays”

It was the best hotel I have ever been in my life!! The food was excellent! The rooms every day clean and tidy!!! I will come back again……….. the staff was incredible……………………………………………………….. thank you for all the help and attention!!!!!!!!!!!

Food choice poor and repetative and although we never went hungry we never really looked forward to meal times as it was all very much the same every day. There was never any cutlery to eat with so occasionally we would be sat with food on the table waiting until a knife and fork became available. No glasses for drinks and the drinks machines constantly empty. Coffee machines also broken multiple days. There was often no tables to sit at during meal times as the tables were not cleared from previous guests. The bars were often not restocked of certain products so many drinks were unavailable, one bar even closed down fully during our stay Kids club ok but at the disco most nights the songs were often stopped abrutly and or skipped to the next song for no reason or there were long gaps inbetween songs as they tried to figure out the laptop which felt amaturish. Some (not all) of the animation staff were extremely unprofessional, the guests shouldn't have to know or even hear about the issues and fighting between the animation team resulting in 2 of them being sacked whilst we were there During our stay we had a medical situation in our family and I needed assistance from reception to locate the nearest medical center/Dr's office and the reception were very helpful in arranging a taxi to take us. 5 days later we unfortunatly needed to return to the medical centre so again went to reception to call a taxi, the lady this time was less than helpful and said she couldn't call me a taxi unless I knew the name of the Dr, which of course I didn't. I even tried to explain it was just a short ride away in kiatori town, the Dr was female and that was all I knew. The lady on reception still protested they needed to know the Dr's name before she could call a taxi and said the nearest Dr was 30km away, even when I explained we had been to a Dr just up the road 5 days ago she still refused to call one with out an address or Drs name. I had to call my partner to go back to our room to get the previous prescription with the details on so I could show the reception. It was a very stressful situation made worse by the staff being unhelpful in what I believe was a simple task of calling a taxi. The whole exchange took 20 minutes before a taxi was even called all the while my child was extremely unwell laid down in reception needing help. All in all we had a lovely holiday but the service at the hotel was unfortunatly extremely poor.

I have just returned following a 10 night stay at the Labranda Miraluna. It’s a large complex with a number of pools to spread the guests out, however there are very little sunbeds to the point it looks very sparse. This is the same at all the pools, other than the pirate ship. The sunbeds that are there are very tired and some are broken. This leads me onto the hotel, which for a 4 star rating I would say is ‘rough around the edges’. Tiling around the pool area has some smashed tiles, a fair number that have been changed to a complete different pattern, missing pool tiles and I saw in a number of places paint which has been done to tidy the place up that had massive drips. The glass around the pools clearly haven’t been cleaned in some time and the pirate ship pool for the kids is good but needed a good clean there was all kinds of stuff floating around in the water. The gyros at the snack bar was really good. The pizza one day was stonebaked base, tasty, however then it went to cheap bases and wasn’t great. The food in the main restaurant on the whole was good, sometimes the dishes weren’t very hot but then it is a buffet so to be expected that it can’t always be piping hot. The fruit was all very tasty. The restaurant organisation though isn’t great. They attempt to close all the pool entrances off which doesn’t work so people come in from all directions instead of an orderly queue to be seated. Clearing of tables and then resetting is very slow on the whole. The other strange all inclusive set up of this hotel is you have a band, but are given a token, in order to get a cup. Never had this bizarre idea before, though it saves them having glass collectors. One day we had gone to the beach bar which is part of the hotel, no tokens as we had forgotten and refused a drink. Annoying! There were 2 bar staff however that were always very smily and polite, one on the kids bar and one on the restaurant who always poured drinks ready, great idea. The majority of the staff didn’t look like they were enjoying themselves. You can only help yourself to soft drinks at the beach bar if you have a cup, everywhere else you have to go to the bar. My room, 2216 has been done up, although the old wardrobe and shelf was still in there which ruined the appearance. Very comfy new bed though, and the pillows were really good. Curtains also new and blackout and the aircon was great. My sister had an old room in Block 7 and even the block itself all looked very old tired and a bit grubby. Worth noting there is absolutely nothing around other than hotels. Ample watersports, buses and boats though. The evening entertainment area is also grubby and clearly isn’t cleaned daily as it had spilt drinks. It’s also not comfortable sitting on concrete and also gets so hot that all we could think about was out sweating boiling legs! Overall, considering how much I paid for my stay, I was very disappointed compared to how it appears in the adverts. Certainly needs a lot of money spent on it. Probably doesn’t help that there is an amazing brand new hotel next door. I won’t be back!
