We've just come back from a week's stay at the Belmare. When we arrived the lady on reception asked us to pay 700 euros which confused us as we had already paid for the hotel. She was adamant we hadn't. Another staff member came over to assist and then it came to light that the lady on reception was looking at the wrong name on her sheet! She did apologise, but it wasn't the best start. Our room was nice and we had a private pool which we really enjoyed. The first half of the week our shower was cold. We spoke to other people who had the same problem. The food was really good and all the staff were really friendly and helpful.

“Very good value for money!”

Lovely hotel, nice rooms, nice pool area and friendly bartenders. Thee food (AI) is very good. Please book a dinner at the roof top restaurant. Beautiful view and free (AI). The beds are terrible - hard as concrete. I travel a lot and have never tried anything worse.

Overall a friendly hotel, but very disappointed that there is only one buffet restaurant. The rooftop restaurant, just serves snacks and drinks which you can’t choose. Overall a friendly hotel, but very disappointed that there is only one buffet restaurant. The rooftop restaurant, just serves snacks and drinks which you can’t choose. Then you have to walk downstairs to the buffet for your food. The buffet selection is very repetitive, but the food is fresh with lots of flavour. Our room had its own pool which we payed extra for, we would recommend this. Disappointed that there isn’t another lounge area, only the outside pool bar. However, if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday, this is a good choice.

My partner and I booked this hotel as our first holiday as a couple. The hotel itself is small and quaint (smaller than we had expected) with the option of a swim up room at extra cost. The pool/ outside bar area was quiet and relaxed for the majority of our stay which we grew to really enjoy. There’s only around 50 rooms in this hotel and we had the same bar staff (Maria and George) for the whole week and they couldn’t do enough for us! Between breakfast and lunch, Maria brought around little snacks by the pool to tide us over until lunch time and she even surprised us quite a few times with shots at our sunbeds of her own recipe. She instantly introduced herself to us and asked us her names on our first time, was very chatty and attentive, and even memorised everyone’s drink orders! George was the evening bartender, he was very personable and entertaining, he played couples drinking games with us in the day and (like Maria) made us such amazing cocktails which was surprising with such an affordable all inclusive deal. The pool was a nice size for the amount of people who were staying, although the area was small, we still had our own space in a relaxing, comfortable entertainment! Our beds were made everyday with fresh flowers placed at the end of the bed. I’m not sure that the towels were washed frequently but we weren’t too bothered about it. The only downside that we found at this hotel was the all inclusive food. Although we should all keep in mind that we didn’t spend that much to stay here with all inclusive, the variety wasn’t very big and we found that the food was room temperature at best. There were themed nights for the dinners which was great but I did find I had to stick to the picky bits as I personally didn’t enjoy their dinners. However, despite the temperature, the breakfast and lunch was enjoyable. Also included in the plan was a gelato and crepe station on the poolside with a few different toppings. The Gelato was lovely but we were disappointed to find that the crepes weren’t made fresh, they were pre-made (wrapped in cling film on a plate). At this station (from 4pm) Greek Gyros were served, which were also enjoyable. Overall, despite the food, we did really enjoy our stay and would definitely return if we wanted a nice, affordable stay in Rhodes!
