We had a wonderful week at the Aquagrand, travelling as a couple. We went half board and it was my first time in Greece! We had a normal room off the corridor from reception. Everything is beautifully clean and staff are very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. I'm a vegetarian and worried a little bit about there being enough options for me as we stayed half board. Once the staff knew this, I was met by the Restaurant Manager each evening who explained which foods I could have and which had hidden meat or fish! There was loads of options and it was delicious. One night there was an abundance of sea food (which pleased my husband!) and the manager was concerned I didn't have enough options so asked the chef to make me something just for me! Breakfast was fabulous- so much choice! There is a bar (Zen) where we could sit outside every evening after dinner and the entertainment provided was really good. The cocktails are amazing! The pools are beautiful but I think it was a little too early to make the most of them - they were freezing! I did brave a dip once but it was far too cold to be comfortable to me, The beach is a pepple based, but the whole area is private just for the hotel and the lack of children made it the most relaxing environment you could imaging. Lying on the loungers, listening to the sea, feeling the sun on my skin was just heaven! There's a beach bar too which will bring you drinks! There is a spa within the hotel and we treated ourselves to massages and facials. We also got to use the sauna and steam room - it's a shame the jacuzzi was out of action. It wasn't cheap - it cost about £470 for the treatments we had. They come in lots of packages and the better the package, the more you get for your money. The girls are lovely and they did try to upsell but they weren't pushy and once I explained what I wanted that was fine. It really was of the highlights of the week and I don't think we have ever been so relaxed so totally worth the expense! All in all, I would like to thank every single person working this beautiful hotel. You made our first holiday in years (and first time in Greece) very special. We would definitely go back, although I think I'd go a little later in the season and give the pools time to warm up! One final note - we were in the main hotel and it is a bit of a walk to the beach and back. Not far in the slightest, but I have some mobility problems with my knees and did find it tricky a couple of days, especially with the heat. If anyone is similarly afflicted and is planning to go, it may be worth speaking with the staff about a more suitable location - there are parts of the hotel much closer to the beach which would cut down on the walk, however then you are further from the restaurants so again would require walking. We came to Aquagrand for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. We stayed in a Princess Suit with sea view and private pool. The suite was large and outdoor area got the sun all day. The Sensia bar was our go to for drinks with fantastic views of the sea. Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. We were bed and breakfast basis and there is plenty to choose from. A fantastic hotel. Would definitely recommend!!

My girlfriend and I spent a week here in September, and had a wonderful time. The hotel is nicely spread out and relatively low rise, so despite being full when we visited, it never felt crowded. It has a very "resort" feel, which is reinforced by the private beach. Again despite being full we never struggled to find sunbeds at the beach, and we spent most of our time there (as did most of the guests), rather than by the large upper pool. We originally booked a Princess Sea View suite, but were upgraded on arrival to a Princess Pool Suite. While having the pool was nice, it was quite cold, and didn't have a view owing to the wall in front of it. We could see the sea from the room and when stood or sat on the decking, but when in the pool we could not. As a result we didn't use the pool much and opted to sit by and swim in the warm sea instead, so despite appreciating the upgrade (presumably because all the non-pool princess rooms were full), I would book the same room we originally booked again if we return, I wouldn't pay the premium for the pool suite. On one day we took a trip to Lindos town, unfortunately the only way to get there is either to walk along the road, which isn't pleasant, or get a taxi. We got a taxi, which the reception organised, but it is a shame that there isn't a nicer walking route (not much the hotel can do about this though, that's up to the local authorities). A minibus shuttle would be a nice touch though, especially as on the way back from Lindos it can be difficult to find a taxi or there can be a long queue of people waiting for one. The food was excellent, we were on the half board package, though we ate lunch at the beach bar most days, which was reasonably priced and tasty. Because we were in a Princess room we had access to the Elements restaurant which is connected to the main buffet retaurant. This meant that for dinner we had an a la carte main course (choice of 1 meat, 1 fish and 1 veggie option, which changed each night), and used the main buffet for our starter and dessert, which meant the best of both worlds, we could have all the things we liked in the buffet, while also having a well presented and chef crafted main course. For breakfast in Elements we also had access to both the buffet and a selection of a la carte dishes. We never ate in either of the two paid dinner restaurants. One criticism I have is how little information was given regarding the Elements restaurant, which is included with the Princess rooms. We weren't told either at check in or when we went for dinner on the first night that we could use it, and I suspect that we would have been seated in the main area had I not asked about it. And I only asked about it because I had read reviews saying that Princess rooms had access to it. I can see how people who had paid for the Princess rooms wouldn't even know about it and would miss out on what is actually a great service, simply because the hotel doesn't inform them. I'd also add that the lack of paper menus was a problem as well. The menu for the a la carte dishes was online, accessed via QR code, I'd rather have had a paper menu rather than having to faff with my phone every time. This lack of paper menus did actually cause a problem for some other guests, there was an elderly couple in Elements who seemed to go most of their holiday not even knowing about the a la carte options as they didn't have smartphones and didn't know what a QR code is. We realised this when they asked us how we got our dishes on our 4th night (and I think they had been there longer than us), and so we explained and they asked the staff for help. The staff did help them, and offered them one of their phones to look at the menu, but the fact they weren't told about this when they arrived and had no paper menu to offer was a real failure of service. In all we enjoyed our stay, and would come back again. I would definitely reccommend the Princess rooms, as the Elements restaurant is fantastic. As mentioned if we do return I would book the Princess sea view room again (which we originally booked this time), as for us the extra cost for the pool isn't worth it. But the hotel management could really do with updating their website to make it clear which rooms have access to Elements, and more proactive advice from the staff would help too, as would paper menus.

We chose AquaGrand based on the amazing reviews promising a tranquil resort. On arrival we weren’t disappointed, the hotel is beautiful and we were warmly welcomed. However, perhaps we were just very unlucky, but sadly the 5* experience ended there for us. We soon found the service falling very short compared to the other Rhodes hotels we’ve stayed in. For example, not once during our stay were we offered a drink by the pool/beach/bar and when we did get service it was extremely slow. When we queried excessively loud music playing until 11:45pm on the Sunday night (I certainly don’t want to be a party pooper, but you’d understand if I could upload my video so you could experience the thumping techno!) I was simply dismissed without apology, apparently if it rains then you’re unlucky if you have a room nearby! I also don’t appreciate 2 calls and a letter telling us to adhere to checkout times on our penultimate day and then on check-out being charged twice and ‘told off’ for pressing the ‘£’ option on the card machine. So we left with very mixed feelings, it’s beautiful place but was lacking on the customer care and consideration (handled in the right way none of this would have been an issue, and we’re not difficult to please honestly!). Lindos town is lovely, €10 for a short taxi ride. I can highly recommend these fabulous restaurants in town: Ambrosia, Dionysos & Alex’s …and no long trouser required (I mean surely, AquaGrand, we can allow men to wear a smart tailored short at dinner!)
