Fantastic resort, great restaurants, great staff. We are so happy and also a bit surprised of how great it was! I told my wife, if this would've been 1500 euro more expensive it still would've been well worth the money. We went no breakfast and instead bought some cheese, salami, ham and butter and every morning bought 0,3 euro baguettes for breakfast which as amazing.

“Sun beach resort”

I really enjoyed staying at the hotel! There was always fun at the pool and good show every night. the people working there were always super nice and friendly, especially Lusanda and Erso. They had always time to talk and showed us fun activities. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone:))

Fantastic Hotel with lots of amenities, myself and 3 friends had a self catering apartment with garden/sea view, which was well equipped, with the addition of Dressing gown’s slippers and beach towels. A bottle of wine , water and fruit were left for us on arrival. Loved the infinity pool but with high temperatures an umbrella was a necessity. Staff were friendly. The beach was shingle and a good tip is to take water shoes, sun beds on the beach were €5 each with umbrella. Lovely little resort with plenty of restaurants and tavernas, and supermarkets just opposite the hotel. All in all we had a great holiday.

TLDR 2 hotels in one Beach side is 4 star with a great beach,view, the nicer pools and restaurants Garden side is more like a solid 3 star which has  the main buffet restaurant, and evening entertainment Highlights   Good breakfast selection   supermarkets nearby   Attentive staff   great kids club Other things to be aware of:   Gym equipment either well used or broken   all inclusive is not all inclusive in all areas of the hotel   bathroom was a bit dated although clean and in good condition    Situated directly on flight path to airport In more detail Sun Beach Resort is situated 5k east from Rhodes airport, on the northern coast. Transfer from airport is pretty easy and quick and once dropped off we headed to main reception to get checked in. The main recpeption on  th beach side has immediate wow factor with a wide spanning view of the crystal blue waters ahead. Turns out though that I had booked a garden view apartment and we were redirected over the road to check in at the garden side. The garden side is well maintained and clean, yet certainly not as luxurious as where we had been and to be honest I felt a little disappointed inmyself for booking the “cheap seats”, as it were. Check in was easy and we were shown our room which was a garden view apartment. The room was a litle dated but met our needs, with comfy clean beds,working air con, lots of clothes storage and a balcony. Bathroom was a litte dated but clean and functional. We had a kettle,filter coffee maker, toaster and microwave as well as a hob if we needed to cook basic meals ourselves. There are 3 restaurants in the resort, which are Thalassa (the posh one - beachside), Dionysius (the intermediate - beachside) and Azure (buffet - Garden side). Because we went Bed & Breakfast, during our stay we ate at Azure for the breakfasts and had lunches at Dionysius. I have to say I was impressed by the breakfast selection at Azure each morning and since I've turned into a born again vegetarian I found there to be lots to choose from each day. We ate there in the evening too but felt that the vegetarian options weren't as good and was bit pricey for a buffet,compared to eating outside of the resort. Dionysius was table service and located next to the main pool. Lunch options were pretty good ranging from different salads,burgers and a few specialities. Special shout out to Eliona who was so warm and friendly during our stay. She is an asset to the establishment. Thalassa was a bit more plush and we enjoyed drinks there one evening. Didnt eat there so can't comment on the menu. There are a number of pools at the resort and cater to all groups, there's a perfectly decent infinity pool with poolside bar thats perfect to put on the ‘gram,a couple of kids pools for smaller children anda couple of larger onesfor the bigger kids and adults. Water temp was not a problem and the pools were manned by lifeguards too. There is also a fairly decent gym at the resort too, equipment included,cross trainers, treadmills,dumbells, chest press, squat rack,and pull up frame. Compared to a lot of hotels it was very well stocked. On our visit though it looked like all but one of the cross trainers were out of order, and the treadmills were in various states of repair ranging from functional,will only work for 5 mins,to not working at all. Other equipment was well used but functional. One gripe I have about the gym though was that it could be opened a bit earlier. Considering its not manned, I dont see why it cannot be open at 6am for early risers rather than 7, there's no music so there shoudn’t really be any reason why it would disturb guests. The same goes for the closing time. Have it open to 10pm to allow people to use it when its cooler. I would also recommend that it should only be opened using card access as there were a number of unoccupied younger children who were going in,which could have led to injury (not making any judgement or commenton why younger children were unaccompanied) One of the best features of Sun Beach resort was the entertainment team suitably named “Animation”. This is likely in part to the team members being everywhere and taking such good care of the younger guests. They are also resonsible for the majority of evening shows, and provide a really fun vibrant atmosphere to the resort.  Would like to give a big thank you to Aimee and Lucy for their hard work and planning. They were all a delight. If not going all inclusive would recommend exploring Ialyssos for dinner as there are some great value eateries all a short walk away Take earplugs to ensure good sleep as resort is located right under the flight path to Rhodes airport. Infinity pool is lovely but there is very little shade, seeing as the only two colours I go are either chalk,or salmon the sun was too intense for me. Wouldn’t bother trying to snorkel in sea, its quite wavy partly due to the stronger winds. Stronger swimmers will be ok but for younger/weaker swimmers stick to the pools. take your own towel to the gym (we used the smaller bath towels) Room safes cost extra If eating at the buffet get to breakfast just after 8AM (when the outside opens) and there will be plenty of selection. In the evening it closes early (about 10pm) and they start to clear up earlier than that. Would recommend eating aound no later than 7:30pm.
