Just come back from a 7 night holiday from the Venezia, we came away for October half term and I thought I’d write a review on the Pros & Cons PRO’s - Very clean rooms, maid service were second to none. Staff- A lovely Greek gentleman on reception called STERGOS, what a guy, so helpful and funny, he had great knowledge of Faliraki, We felt like we had known him years, He’s an absolute asset to The Venezia, I would return just to see him again. Free shuttle bus - We used this on numerous occasions and found it very easy and convenient Entertainment - We did go out most nights but enjoyed the quiz and Karaoke CONS - the pool was really cold, we struggled to get used to this, would come back if the temperature of the pool could be altered It is on a hillside and my mums Mobility isn’t the best, we was told next year more lifts etc would be installed, so we will keep a eye out for these changes The food was ok we managed to eat something we enjoyed every night, but can be a little repetitive but like most all inclusives are All in all a good resort with small changes it could be made excellent

Had a great stay at Venezia resort hotel, having just returned. Here’s quite a detailed review of my stay: Check in: so we arrived early, about 1pm and although our room wasn’t ready, they gave us a band and let us use the all inclusive facilities and explained to us where everything was and let us leave our suitcases in the baggage room. The check in staff were great the whole trip! The same on our last day. We had a late flight so they let us leave our suitcases and we could use the all inclusive facilities still. The room: I’ve seen a few comments on here of the rooms being small. We just had a standard room and thought it was more than big enough! The bathrooms a tad small I guess but nothing major. Shower was nice but did flood a bit. My only complaint with the room itself is that the bed is 2 singles pushed together. I knew to expect this and it’s super common in hotels it’s just annoying, especially when it’s single bedding too. A double duvet would be nice. Our room was also by the Marrakech. Annoyingly we could hear the music they play on an evening in our room. Which was fine until it got late. The restaurant closes at 11pm but still 1130-12 most nights we could still hear it, occasionally getting louder after 11 too. But, overall the room was nice, comfy and modern. Food & drink: the food was ok. I’m pretty fussy, so most nights I just ate from the kids section but honestly that spaghetti sauce is addictive. I need the recipe it was so nice! There was plenty of choice every evening tho with themes on most nights. Lunch was a bit samey but there’s the snack bar which is amazing. The gyros are to die for! Breakfast was alright. Decent choice. The last 2 days there were pancakes that were lovely. And the last day was proper sausages and hash browns. Just a shame it was once in the whole week. As for the drink, I thought it was alright. The beer is very weak but the pour your own taps are nice. Beer and wine on tap and 2 cocktails - sex on the beach and blue lagoon are included as well as some spirits. Plus soft drinks. The lemonade is soooo nice. Sometimes there were proper plastic cups, others times it was just the flimsy recyclable plastic cups which are tiny and not ideal. We ate once in the marrekech for dinner. The staff were lovely and let me put something on the table, even found a candle for me. I had steak and unfortunately it was overcooked. It also didn’t say what it came with so we got a side of flatbread but turns out it comes with flatbread so we had way too much haha. The cheesy potatoes were very nice tho. It was average in my opinion. Wouldn’t pay to go again. Facilities: there’s 3 pools. We spent our time mostly around the Marrakech, which is lovely. It’s adults only and it’s very relaxing. Comfy beds and nice calm atmosphere. The only annoying thing is only beer, wine and soft drinks are free. You also can’t bring food in. If you want a bed get there early. It opens at 10 and the beds get taken pretty quick so I recommend going for when it opens. The other pools had a decent amount of sunbeds free all day. The pools are just freezing! Easiest way to get in is to do it quick! Waterslides are fun but not made for adults. It’s not very deep so if you go down, especially the green one, try to keep your legs up when you land in the water. One annoying issue we had was with the pool towels. It’s nice you can get some with a deposit. €15 a towel tho! Refundable of course. But I was told to go to the water park but it was after 3pm so it was closed as it’s October. So went down not realising the time to find it closed. Went back to reception who insisted it was still open and told me to ask at the bar if not. The bar sent me back to reception. Asked a life guard at the other pool who sent me back towards the water park. So I gave up until the next day when the water park opened. That was a bit frustrating on the first day. Entertainment: pretty rubbish to be honest but wasn’t expecting much. Minimal entertainment during the day, water polo was fun. But we aren’t entertainment people so didn’t bother us. As for the evening it was pretty bad. Mini disco was the same 3 songs everyday. Then bingo is €5 a game and you don’t even win money if you win. You win hats and stuff from the gift shop etc. Greek night was terrible. It could have been so much better. Film is mama Mia everytime by the sounds of it. Another thing that frustrated me, they put on a bus on the Friday night to take people into town to go out to a couple of clubs. A couple of other hotels do it and you get free entry to 2 clubs, travel there and back. Annoyingly this wasn’t advertised anywhere and we went out on the Thursday night. However if we’d have known about it, we wouldn’t have gone out Thursday and waited till Friday. The first we got told about it was about 9pm in the bar on the Friday. Apparently it was a great night tho so if you’re into going out definitely consider it. Bus: bus to the beach was handy but very busy. We used it a fair few times and either people had to stand or the driver made 2 trips. Definitely need a bigger bus or more times? The beach is nice plenty of sunbeds just be prepared to pay. Nice bars around too. €2 for an ice cold beer on the beach front. Good boat trips around as well. We did on one occasion walk it there and back. It takes about 25-30 mins to walk to the harbour. It’s a nice walk there. The way back the last bit is pretty steep uphill. Taxi is €10 each way. Also taxi to and from the airport is €30-€35. Staff: staff were friendly and helpful but lacked that personal touch I’ve had with other hotels. There was one issue on the Friday night that I think could have been dealt with better. There was a group that had a bit too much to drink and were being loud and disruptive. The entertainment guy got involved and eventually tried to get them to leave but they wouldn’t. At this point there should have been a way to get either the manager or some form of backup/security to get them to leave. A guy on the table next to them “tried” to tell them to leave but may have also made the situation slightly worse with how he told them to leave. In the end the guy ended up getting punched. And after that it still took them 5/10 mins to leave. Not being funny but it wasn’t long after the mini disco, there were still a fair few children around. And still just the entertainment guy trying to deal with it. Eventually someone else did come down who I can only assume was some form of management but after they had left. When we were round the adult only pool the next day, surprisingly the one who threw the punch was there. Definitely think there should have been a greater consequence. Don’t let this put you off your stay. I’m sure it was a very rare occurrence. I only mention it because I think it could have been dealt with so much better. This probably sounds like a negative review but it isn’t. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Venezia and would definitely come back. I definitely recommend it. Im just highlighting the minor negatives we found in the hope the hotel can improve and to give whoever is still reading this the full picture. The negatives were minor things and did not affect our holiday. I’m sure we will be returning in the near future. Thanks for an amazing week!

Had a really enjoyable 10 nights here with another couple, the hotel is really nice and spotlessly clean in all areas. Couldn't fault any of the staff from top to bottom, all very friendly and very helpful. Rooms, ours was adequate, not massive but not too small either, not much storage space, the balcony was a nice size and we were overlooking the fountain just near reception. The bathroom was fine, the shower was awesome and didn't flood the entire bathroom as a lot of reviews have said. It was a bit strange having the hand basin outside of the bathroom but we got used to it. The fridge was nice and cold unlike a lot of hotel fridges, the aircon was spot on too, rooms seemed to be cleaned everyday and well cleaned too. Food, the breakfasts, although we only had a few, were quite nice, lots of variety so plenty to choose from. Lunches, again we only had a few, were fine never as much choice as on an evening but again what was on offer was nice enough. Evening meals, absolutely loads of choice on an evening, a few different meat dishes, loads of veg and salad choices and all of a reasonable standard. Overall the food in the dining room was nice and varied but nowhere near 4 star, more like a decent 3 star, not sure why they insisted on men having to wear fully toe covering shoes on an evening, my mate had a pair of top name leather sandals and had to go and change them for a cheap pair of trainers which cost less than half the price of said, very smart sandals. There was also a snack bar at one of the pools which was nice although limited, they did burgers, gyros, pizza and chips and all were of a decent standard if you didn't fancy the trip to the main dining room, this was open from 11 til 5 also had ice cream available there. Pools, all were in nice settings and at this time of year (middle 2 weeks in Oct) there were plenty of sunbeds available in all areas. Have to say the pools were pretty cold though but at this time of year its to be expected. The Marrakesh Oasis, absolutely stunning area for adults only, beer, wine and soft drinks included on the AI but there were premium drinks available to buy here if required. On an evening this area becomes a restaraunt and we had one free al a carte meal included in our package. Now the staff here are brilliant but, the food, hmmm, unbelievably disappointing, really not much choice, 3 salads, a tagine, one meat dish, one fish and one veggie dish to choose from, also include is one beer, wine or soft drink. I had beer, it was only a half pint, wife had wine, the smallest serving I've ever seen in Europe, the salad (which is for 2 to share) we chose chicken and parmesan cheese, , really poor to be honest, the tagine disappointed even more, a massive tagine came with virtually nothing in it, a spreading od cous cous and 6 malteser sized bits of chewy beef, again really poor, next up the main course, chicken on a skewer, almost no taste other than chicken despite a fantastic description of a multitude of spices etc etc, again very poor, desert was a piece of that local syrup soaked cake and ice cream to share between two, this was very nice. We worked out from the menu that this would have cost around 55 Euros had we paid for it, sorry to say , i felt short changed even when it was free, such a shame as the rest of the set up in this area is awesome. Entertainment, shockingly bad. Location, to be honest , it's miles from anywhere, at the top of a very long and steep hill, it's walkable but not very interesting especially the walk back, at least on the way down , the views are stunning. Falaraki itself is ok but nothing special, we hired a car for a couple of days and highlights were Lindos, Butterfly valley, (just a drive) and Rhodes, all beautiful. Great holiday, nice hotel, great weather (25 to 28 most days), great company. Would we come back, probably , yes if the price, like this time, was right.
