Stayed here 20th - 27th April , my wife & i thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We arrived late at night, & the guy on reception checked us in swiftly. We were allocated room 344, which we really liked. The room was spacious, bright & airy. The bed & pillows were very comfortable , the bathroom had a lovely rain shower & a powerful hand held shower too , with shower gel / soap provided too. We had a lovely balcony with two comfortable chairs & a table. There was air con in the room, however we did not need to use it at this time of year but we did try it & it worked well. We loved the huge mirror in the room -6ft by 4ft, as it gave the impression of the room being larger. Also, we had ample wardrobe & drawer space, plus a small fridge & a t.v. but no English channels apart from news channels were available. Come morning time, we were able to check out the view from our balcony, which was lovely , having a side sea view , harbour view & mountain view. There are two long blocks to the hotel with each block having rooms either side, but in our opinion , we probably were in the best block & the best side as no others would have the harbour view but ours unless you were in the front facing rooms. rooms 302 - 350 will have the harbour views , even numbered rooms only though. Ok, onto the food now. We were on a half board basis, so down to breakfast we went in the morning. The dining area is huge, plenty of room too between tables & everything is so spaciously set out too - brilliant ! We were very impressed by the choices on offer & the quality & temperature of the hot & cold items were spot on. The best part for us was the fantastic Greek yoghurt, it was the best tasting yoghurt we've ever had in a hotel. The downside -at least for me, was the bacon & sausage on offer, but that's just my personal taste. The evening meals were very nice too, again lots of choices for the hot food, & there were many different - & tasty desserts too. Pool area; there are two huge pools , one indoor & one outdoor plus a very small kids pool. We loved the fact that the outdoor pool was a lovely temperature which was brilliant & the indoor pool was very warm too. These have to be the cleanest pools we have ever encountered on our many years of travel ,so hats off to the pool maintenance team, you are doing a great job ! There are sun loungers around the pool area , however, there's around 200 sun loungers on the huge grassed area overlooking the beach & the best part is that all of the paired sun loungers are at least 12 ft away from the next one ,so no lying like sardines with the other guests ! There is a kids play area next to the grassed area too' There was entertainment on most evenings which was held indoors as it was quite cool on the night time , however there is a lovely stage area outside with ample table & chair space so this will be brilliant in the summer months. There is a pool bar &dining area beside the pool for lunch time eating if you are all inclusive & again there is ample space to dine at without being cramped together & that is one of the reasons why i have given the Apollo Beach a rating of five, as the space throughout the hotel is just brilliant. There is also an onsite shop & a gym , plus tennis courts at the back of the hotel too. The Apollo Beach is in a great location, right on the sandy beach, plus its right next to shops , bars & restaurants, & the lovely harbour is a pleasant ten minute walk along the beachfront. Also, at the top of the driveway of the hotel are the bus stops ( opposite each other which will take you to Rhodes town - which is a must visit place- 2 Euros 50 each way, & over the road you can travel to Lindos, again a must visit place , 4 Euros 50 each way . approx 30 mins to Rhodes town & 50 mins to Lindos. All of the staff here are very friendly & efficient, & they are a credit to this wonderful hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding in every single area. We are sure all future guests will have a wonderful holiday at the Apollo Beach Hotel. Enjoy, everyone !
