Great hotel on the seafront. Hotel was full mostly retired people from all over Europe. Food was varied with something for everyone and drinks, ice cream and snacks available throughout the day. Rhodes old Town is about a 30 minute walk, partly uphill, but a taxi from the hotel was between 7 and 8 euros. The two sightseeing tour buses run from outside the main entrance but don't expect them to be on time! Evening entertainment was varied but we noticed a lot of people had taken cards and games to play while enjoying the free drinks! Would certainly go their again.

Situated at the top of the Aegean coast, within walking distance of the medieval town and historic harbour, the Rhodos Horizon Resort (RHR) came highly recommended, by a trusted colleague. Their reports of how clean, well-kept and maintained were accurate and the whole resort appeared to have been redecorated over the closed season. The resort is adults on and all inclusive. Our superior room, with sea view and balcony, was a good size, with comfortable beds, clean, fresh bedlinen, a well-equipped bathroom and the best air-conditioning I’ve ever experienced. The balcony was elevated from the Sun Terrace, which in-turn overlooked the Main Pool, the Beach and the sea. We were close to the main foyer, off which is a large entertainment area, the Belvedere Bar, Pool and Café-Bar. We spent most mornings and evenings on the Sun Terrace, looking out to sea with a cocktail or G&T. Most days you can see the mountains along the Turkish coast and way off in the distance the Island of Symi (well-worth the full day trip). The sunsets were different every day and the constant sea breeze made the 30°C+ July temperatures more comfortable. A short stroll, past the main pool, takes you through the Sunset Bar and into the enormous Restaurant, which covers the entire first floor of the second building. Mainly split into two sections, for hot and cold food, there was so much choice, that it would take several weeks to sample every dish. The quality of the food is very good, well-presented and regularly topped-up. I would recommend scanning the whole range, before picking up a plate. The waiting staff are kind, friendly, extremely helpful and dedicated to excellent service. Dora spotted us on the first night and took the time to explain the layout, location and how the various stations worked. This was most appreciated, after a long, day travelling. Dora was attentive and always pleased to help; as was Elena, who covered the section with the best air-conditioning and breezes. Both ladies were genuinely sad to see us go and pleased to hear we planned to return. The ground floor of the second building has a second reception and areas to meet the reps and arrange car hire. There is a bar, games room, gym, an a la carte Restaurant and the Rhodos Pool. Back in the man building, there is a well-stocked convenience store, by the entrance; next to which, is an underpass to the private beach, café and bar. On the street above the second building, is the Rhodos Horizon Blu hotel; run by the same group and open to the resort guest. We didn’t eat there, but there’s a very swish bar, upstairs and I must admit preferring their shop, which is bigger and has more choice. Speaking of shops, 50m from the second building is a small supermarket that has a bit of everything and is reasonably priced. The owner is a lovely chap and sorted me out with some over-sized t-shirts, when we found ourselves staying longer than expected. On that matter, I cannot praise the management of the RHR highly enough. When we found ourselves in need of help, they and the Tui reps were superb and looked after us so well; making a difficult situation as stress-free as possible. I must thank Dimitris, the Supervisor and the owner, (I think her name was Stamatis – apologies if this is incorrect); but most of all, Sina, the Reservations Manager went over and above’, to help us. We can’t thank you enough, for everything you and your colleagues did for us.

“Relaxing”

Lovely resort. Exceptionally clean. We had plenty of storage. The rooms were cleaned every day including the floors. Lovely resort. Exceptionally clean. We had plenty of storage. The rooms were cleaned every day including the floors. Yes, as in previous comments from other guests, the tea and milk weren't always topped up but it wasn't a problem as these couple obtained from the restaurant. The food , especially the starter's and desserts were outstanding. Lovely having a beach bar. But the best of all was the staff. They were always helpful and happy. It was about a twenty minutes walk to the town
