We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was very nice with a lot of choice. The morning staff in the breakfast outdoor area was greeting us with a smile every day. We enjoyed dinners too with a selection of Greek and continental style dinners. The only downside during dinner was the waiting time for drinks, and no free water for children. The room was cleaned every day, the pool was lovely, there is a children's area and an adult area. There is also a small playground, and you can walk down the hill from there to reach a pebble beach, small but can hire a longer there and there is a lovely fish restaurant there. The hotel was quiet, air con in the room was linked to the patio door - it would switch off when the door was open. There was also a built in mosquito net on the door, which was nice. Outside there are bus stops with buses (with air con) running often, and the tickets are around €2 per adult, toddlers travel for free. It made a massive difference, it was so easy to go places without having to order a taxi or hire a car. Rodos is around 15 min by bus, and the Falikari beach around 10 min by bus. Katerina and Nena in the hotel reception were really friendly and made us feel welcome. They were always ready to help and gave us some helpful advice on where is best to visit with a toddler. They made a real difference:)

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Kresten, and despite a couple of rough edges, am looking forward to a return next year. Getting the rough edges out of the way - our initial hotel room was shabby, and definitely NOT the 4 star accommodation we booked. This, was quickly dealt with though, and we were moved to a more comfortable (but still not 4 star) sea view room, that I would say was just below Premier Inn quality. Don't let this put you off. Problems do happen. As long as they are resolved efficiently, as these were, all is good. The facilities themselves were perfectly acceptable for a comfortable, relaxing holiday, or as a base for journeys further afield. Everything was clean (and regularly attended to). The pool was great, if a little cool in October. Weather temperatures were mid to high 20's whilst we were there, so the cool pool didn't put us off. It might take a couple of mins, but once you are acclimatised within the pool, all is good and comfortable. The pool bar and restaurant did exactly what you wanted them to do. Prices were on the high side, but what isn't these days. We went Half Board, and so attended breakfast and tea. It's fair to say that many of the offerings made regular appearances through the week, but main courses did change. At any rate, there was enough on offer. It is quite easy to vary your meals without too much difficulty. Peak times were busy, so I'd suggest eating early or later. At any rate, the staff during our stay were particularly helpful - shout out to MARGARITA & MARIYA who were always happy to help, worked hard and found us seating when required. EXCELLENT JOB. Also well worth a mention is the Cocktail Bar. The staff in there also worked hard to earn their pay, particularly the Table Servers, who were rushed off their feet, and yet very effective. PAY THEM MORE, THEY ARE WORTH IT!!!! But I digress. Entertainment at the bar was different every night, ranging from various quiz's to the Halloween celebration that occurred during our stay, always hosted by the same chap, who also hosted various other events during the day at the pool. So in summary, Kresten Palace is an great venue for a very enjoyable holiday, even if it isn't 4 star, as it claims. Our return visit is already booked.
