“Our 6th visit to the hotel”
Belated review of our sixth (6th) stay at this hotel in early September. Excellent on all fronts and for this visit we booked a premium double room with sea view which was great. We have now booked our seventh (7th) visit in early September 2025 for the same room type and looking forward to it.

Booked all-inclusive through TUI arrived with a little trepidation as this hotel is larger than our normal preference. But we needn't have worried, Arrived early hours of the morning. Check-in was smooth and efficient and a sandwich (gluten free available) was waiting in our room. Room 360 was very modern and luxurious with good size balcony. We booked partial Seaview but our view was fantastic. Large walk-in shower and luxury toiletries. Excellent breakfast with gluten free choices. No wristbands but signing for drinks. Bar was efficient and also service to sunbeds. Sunbeds by the pool but also in shady areas among the trees. Short walk down to sand/shingle beach. Good lunch options in main restaurant, great service especially from Alex, Cosmo and Vaso. Food also available in snack bar. Beautiful top floor bar with great service and occasional music. We didn't use the a la carte restaurants as we prefer wider choice at the themed buffet in main restaurant. Welcoming maître de and we were escorted to a table and drink orders taken promptly Restaurant area could become busy at times but food here was excellent quality. Well labelled dishes for allergy information. Good sized swimming pool with payable cabanas if desired. No problem getting a sunbed. Occasional low key evening entertainment in outside bar, some better than others. Good quality cocktails and drinks, service very good especially from Carl. Wifi worked well. We met lots of people who had been returning year after year which says it all.

Firstly, where to start? An absolutely brilliant hotel which was immaculately clean and where all the staff were very friendly. Our duplex rooms with side sea view/sea view (rooms 1008 and 1009) came as standard when booking and they did not disappoint! Particularly because we were able to utilise two bathrooms but also because the sheer scale and size of the rooms were unbelievable! We also loved all the mod-cons of the room including all the light switches and buttons to open/close the blind which provided a wonderful sea view directly from the bedroom every morning. A lovely way to wake up before starting your day! We would have loved a free upgrade as per our recent stay in Atlantica Belvedere Resort, Kos and in Crete etc. but we obviously don't expect a free upgrade anywhere (just would have been nice considering it was end of season and we are repeat customers with Atlantica and TUI etc.). Food was of a high standard and there was a great selection. Drinks selection was also good and cocktails included on the All Inclusive were of a very high standard (ones you would expect in a high-end bar or restaurant). The pool was maintained to a high standard too and the beach in such close proximity was ideal. We really enjoyed utilising the water sports company, ideally situated on the beach right outside the hotel. We tried paddle boarding and canoeing for the first time and prices so cheap too (not sure if because it was end of season?). Although this did close on our second full day due to the end of the summer season. The hotel spa looked nice but prices too steep in our opinion. Nearly €400 for 3 massages! Staff did include a small discount but this was still too expensive for us. A shame, as we do usually treat ourselves to massages etc in the hotel spa if it has one, but not for such an extortionate price. Again, we did not pay this much in Kos for a similar time of year and for similar massages. I realise I’m doing a lot of comparison with other Atlantica hotels we have stayed in previously, but you kind of do, don’t you? That being said, the Atlantica Imperial had excellent facilities including Sky Bar (after 1800hrs for non-Imperial Residences guests), Lobby Bar, Indoor Pool and Gym (which we could use all day). Although hotel staff were attentive and put out all the stops to help us have a great holiday, we were told that management had decided to start to close various aspects of the hotel including our choice of the Greek A la carte restaurant (in fairness to the friendly reception staff, they did manage to squeeze us in, so thank you!) but did tell us this at short notice (not at check in). Management then began to close the Grab and Go food outlet halfway through our stay and so we missed out on trying this, followed by our favourite Sky Bar towards the end of our stay. As a loyal TUI/Atlantica customer who has spent arguably more money (as it was UK October Half Term - not the hotel’s fault I know) compared with weeks prior, I would expect everything to be open throughout the duration of our stay. I appreciate it is the end of the summer season and that Kolymbia as a resort itself was closing down around us. However, if the hotel is open until Sunday 3rd November 2024, for example, then I would expect everything to be open until then as we have paid and expected as such. Obviously, aspects such as staff sickness cannot be helped and we fully appreciate this can affect the operational running of the hotel acutely. In terms of the loyal, hard-working and friendly staff on the ground, thank you to Head of Guest Relations, all the staff in the Alex, Andreas, Demetrius, Panigiotis and many others in the Main Restaurant, Tsampika and others in the Pool Bar, Nikos in the Sky Bar, staff in the Lobby Bar, Flora (who kindly sourced a bed for my Mum to use downstairs in her duplex room due to her mobility issues. That was incredibly kind and resourceful of you and we all really appreciated it!) and others on Reception and even to one of the maintenance men who kindly got my Mum a drink from the pool bar as he noticed she was on crutches! Thanks to Jeremy from Rodos Cars who was based in the hotel lobby! Thank you for all your help and for providing us with a seamless car hire experience. Thank you also for the tips to visit Prasonisi as well as the best times to visit Lindos and Rhodes Town. Overall, we had a very enjoyable, relaxing holiday in a modern, clean and friendly hotel with hard-working staff, great facilities and excellent food and drink. We would definitely return! Me and my partner’s second time in Rhodes but my parents’ first and they have said they would return also. We enjoyed how quiet the hotel was as it was the end of the summer season but we just wished that all aspects of the hotel resort were kept open by staff/management until the last day of the season and if not, tell us well in advance prior to booking via our travel agent or at check-in. Thanks to everyone at the Atlantica Imperial for a fantastic holiday!

The food was plentiful, loads of different dishes. Mostly buffet style. There were a few freshly cooked things on offer but mostly not. The choice was excellent though. Lovely puddings. The staff were friendly and helpful. Free bottles of water delivered every day. No complaints at all.
