We arrived early at the Olia after a weeks sailing and on arrival we were met by George who manages the hotel. George gave us a comprehensive introduction to the hotel and places to see and visit and the ways to get there. We dropped our bags at reception and sat by the pool and had a few drinks and had something to eat from the Meze on Port restaurant, which was very good. The hotel overlooks the New port and sailing marina at Tourlos. There are enough sun loungers around the pool for people and gentle easy listening music playing in the background. The hotel is quirky and all rooms have there own entrances and very clean and spacious with great air-con, most rooms from what I could tell could view the sea from them. Beds are very comfortable, with plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. Shutters on the outside of the windows give good blackout from outside light. There is a bus stop right outside the Olia, which goes to and from the Airport that is on the way to the New port for 3 Euros. and the Sea Bus is 5 minutes walk that will take you to Mykonos town for 2 Euros or the Seajet and Ferry terminals to take you to a multiple of other islands. Breakfast is a buffet (8-11am) and plenty of choice with hot bacon, sausages and eggs and meats, cheeses and fruits. The breakfast seating is on the upstairs balcony overlooking Mykonos bay, which can be fairly busy first thing in the morning. There is a couple of good restaurants a couple of hundred meters away and a cafe/convenience store 30m away for last minute food and drink items before travelling. The cakes, baguettes and salads are verygoo.

We stayed her for 2 weeks which I would say is quite unusual, lots of travellers or so it seems use it as a passing through stay, as it is situated near the new port where the ferry come in. Our stay was the end of June beginning of July so not a lot of children (great for us) we stayed in room 22, 50 steps from the bar/restaurant area. When we arrived George greeted us with a warm welcome giving us a map and telling us how to get about and some of the local historic things to see. He was helpful all through our stay the whole staff were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a lovely view of the port and a bit of a sunset view too. The cleaners kept it spotless also fresh linen and towels regularly. There was no charge for the air conditioning and safe which we thought was great, complimentary toiletries were very nice, having known this I would have not taken any. The wardrobe space was a little awkward if you have long dresses it was a problem, hair dryer could be a little nearer the mirror, but was very good. Pool area has towels you can use on a daily basis with no charge or deposit, if you were heading out to the beach or going on a trip they give you towels from Reception still no charge or deposit. Restaurant has a limited menu, could do with maybe a bit more of a snack / lunch choice but the food was fresh, presented well and was of good quality. Breakfast was very similar every day but breakfast is breakfast, lovely dinning room and 2 terraces overlooking the new port. You can help yourself to as much as you want. I would recommend this hotel for a short or long stay like we did.

The outdoor lounge area with the pool is a nice touch and relaxing. Breakfast had a good variety of food to choose from and was great. There are a lot of steps around this hotel and to most rooms so be prepared to walk up them. Overall, we loved this hotel and would definitely stay again if ever back in Mykonos. Rooms were decently priced as well during our stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you come across it while researching placed to stay in Mykonos.

Last month we had the pleasure of staying at the Olia Hotel in Mykonos. This hotel is a hidden gem placed on the Mykonos Port hillside, with Greece’s signature whitewashed architecture. Our room was spectacular, and had a small balcony that overlooked the Aegean Sea. When we arrived in Milos, our son had left his dinosaur stuffed animal at the Olia hotel. The staff at the hotel was fantastic! Quickly answering our emails confirming they had the dinosaur. The Olia staff asked where we were traveling next and they had a courier deliver our dinosaur to our hotel in Athens at no charge to us. They made our little boy happy knowing his stuffed animal was going to meet us in Athens. They treated us like gold while we were there and even after we have left. This hotel and staff is truly remarkable and is a must stay on our next visit. Special thanks to the Olia hotel and staff for being so kind and attentive, their special care really made a difference. We picked the Hotel for the convenience of being close to the port, but was overly impressed by the cleanliness, beautiful location and kindness by everyone! They went above and beyond in making our stay wonderful! And for caring for our little boy was priceless! They didn’t have to send the dinosaur to our next location, but they did…. That extra care shows you what a special place the Olia is all about! Sincerely thank you! Everywhere we went in Greece was friendly and kind, and the Olia went above and beyond! Efcharistó,

This is a great hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. We were in room 40 which was their highest unit and the steps (102 from our door to the street) were very manageable without bags. They are in stages with some walking between so it doesn't seem so much. There were many units closer down so if steps are an issue let them know. We arrived at 11.30pm and staff were very welcoming and helped with the bags which was greatly appreciated after a very long day of travel. The room was very spacious and we had two outside areas both overlooking the new port. We loved sitting out there watching the sun set and the activities of the port. Internet was slow and intermittent and electric outlets for charging devices were limited for three people (all with mobile phones, computers and watches). The pool area was very nice but we found the water too cold for us, but others were using it. The supermarket next door is very handy and sells everything you can imagine from pool toys through to cheese and wine. Our room had a kettle, mugs, glasses and plates which were great for snacks on the balcony. Breakfast was good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Getting into Mykonos town is easy with the Seabus (just opposite the hotel) at a cost of 2 Euros each. Very pleasant stay and easy for when we transferred to our next island by ferry at the new port. I would recommend this hotel for people who love ports and don't want to be in the thick of the Mykonos party scene all the time. It is peaceful and within easy reach of the main town.
