Had a really lovely stay. We were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic. The place was really well kept, very clean and the staff were super friendly. One staff member in particular, Klaerd (bar staff) was stand out. Really funny, welcoming and had lots of local knowledge. We will 100% return, just to see Klaerd! The food was pretty good for an all inclusive, but lets face it, no all inclusive is ever going to be in any good food guide. There really is something for everyone. Met some lovely people and had a relaxing stay. Perfect!

We have just arrived home after 12 nights AI at this hotel. From start to finish we definitely had a five star experience. The resort was clean, well maintained and relaxing. Our room was amazing overlooking one of the smaller pools. The food was consistently good. They even offered snack bars if you didn’t fancy going for lunch. The entertainment was really good and the Greek dancers were excellent. They had food themed nights which were also lovely. The pools and surrounding areas were very clean. But, above all the staff, from the maintenance team to the cleaners, the reception guys, and not forgetting the bar crew who were amazing. Happy, polite and attentive. We were so impressed that we’ve booked to go back next May!

I've just returned from 5 nights at the Gaia Palace on an all inclusive break. Firstly my room was lovely. It overlooked one of the smaller pools and my bed was super comfortable. The room was clean and there were bath robes provided. There was a ceiling fan and air conditioning in the bedroom but no ventilation in the bathroom except for a window which opened a little (more on that later). As far as I could tell I was one of only a few British guests. The vast (VAST) majority of other guests were German and the hotel catered more towards their German guests than those of other countries. For example, all the information about tours, car hire etc, was in German. The other reviews mention barely warm food, but I don't think they convey just how bad the food at this hotel is. The roast potatoes they serve with every meal were hard, every. single. time. The pasta that wasn't eaten at lunch time was mixed with a new sauce and served at dinner. EVERYTHING was as cheap as it possibly could be, with off brand sauces and fake disgusting "Nutella." The drinks were even more terrible. "Kos Cola" was served at the bar and was the worst, most syrupy drink I have ever been served. The drinks were so bad, I walked to the little shop off site to buy drinks as even the water served was just out of the tap. My bathroom was clean(ish) and the shower got lovely and hot but as there was no ventilation, the room filled with steam quickly and the walls became drenched. The drains smelled very bad and didn't drain properly, limiting shower time to a few minutes to stop flooding of the bathroom. The sink tap only worked at its hottest setting and also the sink wouldn't drain properly. The fly screens on the bathroom window were not secure and so, when I left the window open a tiny bit many mosquitos came in and I woke up on the last morning with literally dozens of bites, all over my arms, legs and face. The location of the hotel is pretty far from everywhere. The beach, which has the most beautiful sunsets, is about a 10 minute walk from the property. The beach furniture is dated, and should you want a padded sun lounger, it is not included in the all inclusive. There is a bus that runs to Kos Town a few times a day but even right at the very end of the season these busses were full. So there is no guarantee that you would be able to get on the one you want. There was absolutely no entertainment at this hotel. The hotel does have some good points. I slept well there. What bugged me was that it claims to be a 5* when it is at best a 3* and I was in one of the nicer rooms. I don't know how it has so many great reviews, I value TripAdvisor reviews and I have relied on them all over the world. On this occasion they just aren't accurate to what the hotel was like last week. I'm usually only a positive review writer, but I thought it was important that people had an up to date review of this hotel.
