Got to the hotel later than expected as the flight was delayed. Staff welcomed us at the door and asked if we were hungry and rushed us down for dinner before we checked in. Staff are extremely polite and helpful. The food is lovely, lots of choice. Snack bar and pool bar are great with lots of options available. Managed to get sun beds easily, I've seen people moan about availability but this wasn't the case. Rooms are nice, only complaint it the bed is hard, but maybe some people like it that way.

The Grecotel Luxme Kos Imperial is a stunning hotel. The grounds are beautifully manicured, the pools are well maintained and the food for an AI was really delicious and varied. The staff are some of the friendliest we've ever had the joy to meet and despite the volume of guests they always had a smile on their faces. It would be a nice touch to be given a map of the resort and more information on what was on offer for each board type. We didn't know there was a chocolatier until someone told us just before we left! We stayed in room 359 which was directly behind Grecoland. We booked a limited sea view which it certainly had, but in retrospect I would have paid more to be in a front row room with a wider view of the Ocean. We went during the last week of the school holidays and it was exceptionally busy. Too busy for us and we won't be going away at this time of year again. The sun loungers were indeed all 'reserved', despite the rules, by 6am every morning and I had an altercation with another guest after moving their towels. I had been sitting behind their unused reserved loungers for 5 hours before I moved them, and turned out they were sitting on another 5 loungers opposite and were planning to move to the other side for the afternoon shade. Unbelievable. We never struggled to get loungers by the beach though, and it's quieter and nicer there anyway! The pools are salty which takes some getting used to but it's ok and the kids just wear goggles. We would have loved to watch some of the entertainment but it didn't start until 10pm which made for a very long evening if eating earlier with the kids. I'd highly recommend the hotel look to bring it forward to 9pm. We didn't end up seeing any of it :o( There was a kids disco at 8:15 - 9pm but it was in the conference room in the hotel and there were no lights or anything and the seats were all set up conference style. They could move this down to the bar area and use the PA/Lights set-up there which would be much more fun and the adults could grab a drink at the bar. HEAPS more fun all round. Not the hotels fault but be weary that there is pretty much nothing to do outside of the hotel. There is a (very) small shop over the road for a few bits but the hotel shop is inordinately expensive. I'm talking 35e for a bottle of Nivea sun cream! Also, if you're relying on Taxi's be prepared to wait over an hour to get a taxi back from Kos Town. Some people we spoke to said it took almost 2hrs on some nights. I would highly suggest the hotel look to put on some shuttle buses to ferry people to/from the kos throughout the day/night. It needed be free but it would make a huge difference as we found the regular bus very unreliable. After two horrendous experiences we just forwent leaving the hotel and stayed by the pool/beach for the remainder of our holiday. We booked some experiences via the Viator Ap and Kos4All, both of which were significantly cheaper than doing it via Tui. The Grecoland kids club was fantastic and the team there really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Our son proactively asked to go to a number of the sessions being held and it felt like a very intimate, caring and safe environment. He was gifted a hand painted pebble on his last day which he will treasure. All in all we would certainly recommend the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to visit other resorts in the chain. We won't be going back to Kos however as we felt overall that it was rather more touristy than we had hoped and the transport issues caused a lot of unnecessary stress. We would have hired a car but the August prices were mad xx

Overall this is a very nice hotel and we had a great holiday. I would definitely return and recommend to friends but if you can avoid the school holidays then do - it was just too busy. I don’t want to queue for food like a school canteen and nor do I want to get up at 6am to reserve a sun lounger. This part felt very icky and not a 5 star experience. But I appreciate the hotel was fully booked and we were eating at peak times so we just got on with it. We managed to book into three of the restaurants in advance via the app a few days before we arrived - if we’d left it til we got there we wouldn’t have got in. I only knew this from reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. The buffet restaurant food is good and had a decent selection of healthy and tasty options. As with any All Inclusive it can get a bit repetitive so I’m glad we’d booked the other restaurants. We also ate in the Taverna across the road from the hotel one night to mix it up. We upgraded to a family suite which was very spacious and modern and the bathroom and balcony were huge. It gave us all enough space to relax and not be on top of each other. If you can do this then I’d recommend it. The hotel was incredibly clean and the cleaning staff were around all day long making sure the public areas were in good condition. Our room was spotless. The gardens and grounds were also beautiful and well maintained. The entertainment wasn’t amazing but we didn’t go for that. Overall a great place with friendly staff. The odd improvement would make it amazing. Just don’t go in the school holidays.

**A Stunning Resort with Room for Improvement** As a family of five, we had a memorable holiday in Kos, staying at the Grecotel Kos Imperial. The resort itself is stunning, with plenty to offer, but unfortunately, several minor issues impacted our overall experience. **Arrival** Firstly, a big positive welcome was our arrival. We arrived late due to flights and some delays. But the staff were so lovely on check-in, our bags were taken to our room, and we were offered some food in the buffet which was plentiful. Good start. **The Air Conditioning Saga** One of the main reasons why I rated the hotel 3 stars was mainly due to the ongoing, unresolved issue with our room's air conditioning. From the very first night, it didn’t work properly. Unknown to us, the unit kept on shutting down every three hours, and we only discovered after several frustrating nights of poor sleep that the whole system needed to be rebooted each time. It wasn’t until 1 a.m. on our third night that a fantastic night porter came to the rescue with two fans and figured out how to reset the air conditioning. Despite this, the problem persisted for the rest of the week. Maintenance staff, including the head of maintenance and one of the hotel managers, visited our room multiple times, assuring us the system was fine. Yet, the error code flashing on the screen persisted, and despite informing five different staff members about the specific problem (thanks to a quick Google search on our part), it was never fixed. We ended up resetting it ourselves every few hours throughout the day, and even in the middle of the night. We wanted it fixed because we knew there was another family coming into that room straight after us totally unaware of the problem, but the hotel seemed to not really care in the end. To be honest though, Tui who were our reps, were brilliant in trying to help. **Towel Gate** While our room was conveniently located near our preferred pool and offered a lovely view from the balcony, the biggest issue was the dreaded *towel gate*. Despite supposedly strict rules against reserving loungers, no one followed them, and we found ourselves setting alarms for 6:30 a.m. just to claim poolside spots. Initially, I refused to participate in what seemed utterly ridiculous. However, after a few days of our family being split up on opposite sides of the pool, and hearing other families discussing the same struggle, I caved. One morning, we couldn't get any poolside loungers and ended up with uncomfortable metal loungers on the grass, far from the pool. The frustration reached a point where I joined the early risers to claim a spot. It’s baffling that the hotel can’t simply assign a specific number of sun loungers to each room, which would save so much hassle. **Communication Frustrations** While the staff were consistently polite and welcoming, communication was an issue. Asking for anything felt like the “computer says no” sketch from *Little Britain*. The staff would nod and agree to help, but nothing would happen—often because they didn’t take any details like our room number. Simple requests took days to fulfill. This lack of communication seriously affected our experience and most of the time you felt like you were hitting your head against the wall. But at the same time I feel bad complaining because the staff are also really lovely people. **Room and Facilities** Our room, though clean, felt dated, and half the plug sockets didn’t work. Oddly, the only functioning phone was in the bathroom! The overall condition of the room did not match the 5-star standard the hotel aspires to. However, the resort's grounds are beautifully maintained, and the pools, especially the large saltwater pool, were fantastic. Surprisingly, we ended up preferring a saltwater pool to chlorinated pools. **Food and Drinks** Food quality was inconsistent. Some days, it was excellent—daily fresh salads, fruits, and desserts were delightful. Other days, it felt like typical 3-star fare, with too much oil used in cooking. The à la carte restaurants also varied, some delivering amazing meals, while other guests told us the Greek restaurant was hit or miss. We didn't get a chance of trying the Greek restaurant due to the frustrating booking system. But the 1930's was really good food with stunning views, and the Asian was also delicious and right by the sea. We loved the dining experience and each time was exceptional. I have to shout out to the lady who serves drinks and cocktails at the Asian restaurant because her service, and her cocktails are 5 star. On the flip side, the drink quality was exceptional. The bar staff at both the pool and lounge bar were outstanding, serving well-known spirits and great local beers. We also loved the evening chocolate bar, which offered delicious handmade chocolates that could easily be sold at Harrods! **Tired but Friendly Staff** One thing we couldn’t overlook was how exhausted the waiting staff seemed. Many worked long hours, often serving us at breakfast and then again late into the night at the à la carte restaurants. Service was either excellent or non-existent, depending on how tired the staff were. It was also common to hear plates or glasses being dropped, a sign that the staff are stretched too thin. **Final Thoughts** The Grecotel Kos Imperial has potential. The resort is visually stunning, with beautiful gardens and well-maintained pools, but it falls short of being a true 5-star experience. The rooms need updating, communication among staff needs improvement, and the consistency of food and service levels needs to be addressed. Despite its flaws, this hotel has 5-star aspirations, and with some tweaks, I believe it could get there in the future.
