Just returned from a lovely stay at the Maritimo. The staff are very friendly, Antonia on reception and Irma, the people working the restaurant and the two lovely ladies at the pool bar, shout out for the iced chocolate and gyros plate. We had a Junior Suite with a sea view on the ground floor and it was very clean as was all areas of the hotel. No sunbed wars, very refreshing to still have a choice of sunbeds at 10am around the pool and in the gardens too. The sunbeds could do with an upgrade as they are old and tired but did the job. The food in the restaurant was not to our taste and we wouldn't go half board again, we ate out 8 of 10 nights. We arent particularly fussy but it wasnt great at all. Breakfast was reasonably okay, the greek yoghurt was a winner but the hot food wasn't great. The bar man at night was friendly, and it was lovely to sit with a drink listening to the singer or piano night. Sissi is a stunning place and the hotel is in a great location. All in all,we would return but not half board, the food is the only thing that lets this place down.

Let me start with the positive aspects: Friendly staff Super WiFi Very clean both rooms, lobby and the whole territory Top Air Conditioner Sleep quality is ok Wonderful Garden around you Nice bar area outside Negative Aspects: No safe in the room Pool towels €7 each per stay Very simple rooms No extra space for cosmetics or personal stuff Plastic glasses in the bathroom Restaurant: Breakfast: Very cheap sausages and cheese for breakfast. No Omelett „on demand“ Corm flakes and co. not the best. No granola. Rice/Almond/Oat milk available All fruits are SLICED: bananas, apples, peaches. Why? It’s not hygienic! I think they just don’t want the guests to take the fruits away. No avocado and kiwi. Someone who has Celiac disease will be hungry here. Dinner: No tablecloth, very cheap napkins No fish variation, just pangasiu (!), 2x mussels, and once very strange white fish. Pork, chicken, 1x beef. Fresh vegetables. Other strange salads made of ingredients from the previous days. This is not a gourmet meal and far away from 4* standard. Sliced Fruits again. Very friendly staff here as well, only “coffee please” waitress was too arrogant. WC close to the restaurant (downstairs) is terrible. This hotel is ideal for those who prefer the pool-vacations and used to stay in 3* hotels. We are not going to stay here again.

The hotel itself is beautiful with a lovely garden, 2 spacious pools and pleasant rooms. Me and my partner stayed here a week and we were not disappointed in the hotel, however, reception were extremely icy towards us. To start, we arrived from airport transfer at midnight to find out our room was not available. However the issue was resolved temporarily by upgrading us to a sea view room for 1 night and to leave the room by 11am the next day. Although the view was incredible, the room change meant we couldn’t start our holiday until the swap was complete. We felt as if reception were blunt with us due to being English and a young couple not to mention the hotel facilitating for Germans mainly (e.g. German channels, German food, ext.). When we checked out, reception were extremely informative to a German family in front of us and asking them how their stay was. However when it was our turn, we only got asked for tourist tax and a blunt goodbye. I also advise anyone staying to not get a late flight, the hotel only gives you breakfast and no dinner as you have to check out at 11am or pay a charge to stay in a room. This confused us due to arriving to the hotel at midnight and missing out on the 1st day breakfast and dinner but also not being allowed dinner the last day. You can still use the pools, but this is hard when your luggage to packed. The luggage room itself is small and left unlocked. The young boys from the restaurant and lovely lady in change of the pool bar are lovely, attentive and hard working. However the older woman in the restaurant and reception that “welcomed” us on the door every night did not speak 2 words to us yet engage in conversation with the German family’s in front of us. The food is average, some nights it was hard to find something to eat. Unfortunately this review would be a 4 if the reception staff did not discriminate and treated everyone equally.
