We stayed at this excellent hotel during the last week in April and the first week in May. It is situated in a relatively quiet area of Crete but with access to most of the highlights of this lovely island. Although not essential, a car is the most convenient way to explore the surrounding area and can be hired at a reasonable cost from the hotel. The hotel accommodation is modern, comfortable and immaculately clean. It is a boutique hotel and therefore small but with all the amenities you will require for a pleasant and relaxing holiday. The food is prepared fresh on a daily basis and is of excellent quality. Prior to arrival, we had decided to visit the hotel restaurant for one or two dinners during our fortnight stay and eat out at the local tavernas and restaurant for the remainder of our stay. We had decided on this routine based upon some of the negative restaurant reviews posted about this hotel. In reality, we never ate dinner in any other restaurant but the hotels, during the entire two week holiday. If you enjoy freshly prepared salads, pasta, rice, fish, vegetables and meats, then I believe you will love this hotel's food. BTW, the breakfast is also cooked fresh and is composed of hot and cold fare, suitable for a wide variety of tastes. After dinner, a drink or two in the bar/lounge is highly recommended. The cocktails are truly exceptional and prepared with attention to blend and decorative detail. In fact all of the drinks are of the highest 5 star hotel standard and served by delightful staff. We never had any difficulty finding sunbeds but April/May is early in the season and we can't comment on peak periods. The pools were immaculate and maintained at a high standard. Kostas and all of the staff are truly exceptional. In fact, everyone, including the owners, make you feel like part of their family and nothing is too much trouble. In the surrounding area can be found four lovely bays, all with sunbeds and parasols. The beaches are clean and well maintained and are encircled by restaurants and bars. The staff in these establishments are extremely friendly and all speak passable English. Cretan people are renowned for their friendly nature and Bali does not disappoint! In summary, our holiday was excellent and the area and especially the hotel added greatly to that experience. I would not hesitate to return to this island, the area of Bali and especially the Sunset Boutique Hotel!!!!

“Amazing staff and lovely hotel”

Lovely a hotel perfect place to go on holiday, the food and drinks are amazing and worth the price. The staff are very kind rooms are clean I will be definitely be coming back again. Everyone made us feel welcomed, first place for a holiday with friends and family

“Paradise but not for this time”

All is well until you are accommodated in room 601.... This has to be the worst view room I've ever been in. There are sludge pipes next to the terrace and you can hear them rustling at night. All is well until you are accommodated in room 601.... This has to be the worst view room I've ever been in. There are sludge pipes next to the terrace and you can hear them rustling at night. You can also smell the bad stench. The room is supposed to be a superior room, but it is on the 0 floor, basically a basement. Next door are 602 and 603 but these have a slightly better view from the terrace. The room is damp, hot water is occasionally available. The night light bulb is not lit, there are no glasses in the room for drinking water. As the room is in the basement, there is no phone service. TV channels are minimal. I would happily go back to this hotel if I could not have room 601! On the day of my departure, I got a late checkout and room 405. It was paradise! Thank you to the cleaning lady who made my day wonderful! The young lady at the restaurant is super and kind! Food are good and bar is ok. The music is ok and not so loud.
