This review is from people travelling as a couple aged 28 and 30. We arrived very early morning to the hotel and we were checked in by a man who went through what felt like every piece of information he had to offer. We also got slapped with 100 euro payment for room tax, now we're novices when it comes to going away and knew we would have to pay something but didn't expect 100 euro for 2 weeks. Upon arriving at the room we had a bungalow, which faced the sea. The view was lovely and they were easily accessible. The room was very clean and tidy, and the bathroom was very spacious. Very good shower, and couldn't fault this. The fridge was stocked with drinks (however this isn't ever refilled). Towels are supplied daily and beds are changed when you leave the card on the bed. One day we lost ours, went to reception they contacted house keeping and this was done with no issues. They also brought us another card for the rest of our stay. Beds are comfortable and love that you get two pillows each- also fluffy pillows I may add. Food & restaurants are good! When we checked in we were told to book the bbq a few days in advance which we did and it was delicious. However we were not told that you could only go once a week, so we foolishly went twice in the first week then were only left with the main buffet. I find it odd that you need to book for this every day, but suppose it allows for numbers for catering purposes. There is a lot on offer, some nights are better than others but there is defo something for everyone. Zorbas near the pool is very nice for lunch time and we often went here most days. However a hidden gem is Star Cafe which is near the beach. Their sandwiches are unreal and unfortunately we found this near the end of our stay. Drinks round the pool are served in small plastic cups like most places. However, on a night in the bars thankfully they're in a glass and not made ridiculously strong, so can be enjoyed. (For someone nearing 30 having drinks served in plastic cups on a night is awful, give me a nice glass please) There is entertainment around the pool but the reps aren't pushy. They're actually lovely. The night time entertainment at the theatre can't be commented on as we didn't go to any. There was often singers and bands on at the main bar, which the seating is out on the terrace and had such a nice vibe we didn't leave it. There are multiple pools around the hotel and extra lounges on the grass area. There are lounges down at the beach. They do state that around the pool if you leave the bed unattended for longer than 45 mins they remove the towels. I don't know how true this is, but I hope this is enforced as nothing worse than bed hoggers, when they don't sit at them. 45 min is more than enough time to pop off for a drink, meal or even a little afternoon siesta. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and well maintained. Very clean and lovely views. Overall we had a fab time, and defo would consider coming back. It was a great hotel for all ages and holiday types. All the staff are really attentive and helpful. We did not ever come into contact with any rude staff members everyone was so accommodating and went that extra mile. Especially in the buffet and panorama bar. I don't understand the really negative reviews, we've had a blast. Go into this hotel with an open mind and you'll love it.

“Bathroom needed TLC!”

This is our second visit to this hotel and we had a lovely time. Only 1 criticism from our visit this time, the bathroom in our room was in serious need of a bit of tlc. We had an old fashion shower curtain around a shower base and every time we took a shower the curtain attached itself to you and the only way to stop it doing that was to let it hang outside the tray = water all over the floor! Not a pleasant 4/5 star expectation! We were in a priority sea view room the bathroom wasn't!!

I hope this is helpful to any-one due to visit. Bad Bits. We arrived in the early hours of the morning to find NOTHING in the fridge to eat or drink after a long day / night of travelling. It was a nice touch to receive a rose in Reception when we arrived but some food and more than one glass of orange or fizzy wine would have been far better to provide all the weary guests arriving. Water was never replenished in the room which is an expectation of a hotel of this supposed all-inclusive standard, you had to find it yourself somewhere in the main restaurant. The tray that held the tea/coffee cups & the wine glasses in our room had the wine glasses stuck to it. We booked a "bungalow with sea views" but ended up 2 flights of stairs in an upstairs room that was "apparently" classed as a bungalow because anything not connected to the main hotel was a bungalow. Very misleading and I have taken this up with TUI as this is not what we were expecting to be placed in. The food was OK, the BBQ restaurant was grossly understaffed the evening we went (Wednesday) and the food was not worth bothering with. By the time we managed to eventually get any sort of drinks we had nearly finished eating. I didn’t get any salad in this restaurant because this was open and had too many flies flying in & around it to be appetizing to eat. My husband got food poisoning the 2nd day we were there and spent 2 days in the hotel room & despite having a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door the cleaner kept insisting on knocking and trying to enter to clean the room. The wine being served was not drinkable, it was foul. The coffee machines in the main restaurant were not put on in the evenings and this would have been better to be able have a coffee after your dinner. The soft drinks machines where you got your own fizzy drinks were constantly splurging everywhere and the glasses ended up full of froth at the top, even the waiters/waitresses had the same issue so it wasn’t only guests experiencing this. The absolute tuneless racket from the evening entertainment in the theatre just across the road from our entrance door was painful to our ears and was so loud on the Wednesday & Thursday nights we ended up going down to the lagoon for some peace & quiet and it was still booming away down there. It didn’t finish until 23.00 and we had to be up for 6.00 the next morning as we were going out for the day. We were bitten a lot by mosquitoes while we were away, haven't had that for many, many years. At this hotel they don't seem to have the "misting" system like you get at hotels in Turkey / Egypt that keep the mosquitos down so make sure you bring lots of deterrent with you when outside. There is nothing in the local vicinity outside of the hotel apart from one supermarket, it is quite remote. We were at the back of the hotel and the road noise can be quite bad. Ok Bits. We asked at reception one day about getting a bus (No 20) into Rethymno Town and where we were able to get it from, Reception gave us the directions but didn’t mention that we couldn’t buy tickets on the bus, forgot to mention we had to go to the shop on site to buy them so we ended up traipsing back to the shop to get tickets to be able to get the bus. The return journey was fine but make sure you catch this as close to the bus station as possible because it gets very full after that stop. The return drop off at the hotel is on the other side of the road and you have to walk under the subway / road and past the supermarket to get back to the hotel. The main pool can get noisy but if you like some life around the pool then this is fine. We were advised on our first day to be booking via the app a table for our evening meals in the main restaurant, never had to do that before in an all-inclusive but you get used to it. Good Bits. The top salt water pool was fabulous, nice and deep for a good swim. This was very popular so if you want a sunbed get up early. I was awake early one morning sat on the balcony and at 7.30 (5.30 UK time) there were many towels already on the sunbeds. The lagoon is also a lovely place to swim but make sure to wear water shoes as it is very stony, but great to have a swim in / snorkel and watch the fish. The room itself/ bedding was kept very clean. The staff are all fabulous, all so helpful & friendly if you ask for any help or have questions. We booked a hire car for a few days and used the car hire shop just on site near the barrier, a bit more expensive than the car hire place across the road but the cars seemed to be better. The gardens and outside spaces were all kept immaculately clean and were well tended
