“Perfection”

Honestly don’t know where to start. Not one complaint on any aspect of the holiday. The Animation team were so lovely and Christina who was working mostly on the lobby bar looked after us every night. An absolute asset to the hotels staff team. All facility’s were exactly as described and more.… more

“A very enjoyable week in the sun.”

The rose and Prosecco on arrival is a very nice touch. The staff and entertainment team are always pleasant and cheerful. Plenty to do for our teenage boys. The pool is freezing and would really benefit from being heated at this time of year. Good selection of food at breakfast lunch and dinner alt… more

“An unforgettable experience”

This was our second time at an Iberostar and this experience at a 5 star was very different to the 4 star we experienced in Mexico. Food: Our group had varied degrees of food intolerances and each of us took turns getting sick from the poor labeling of the items or poor knowledge of the staff. … more

“85% Great, 15% Awful”

The first six days of our seven night stay at Iberostar were very pleasant. Upon arrival we were greeted with free champagne and taken via golf cart to our "bungalow". We went half board which gives you breakfast & dinner at the main buffet restaurant and one reservation at each of the fancier res… more

  • Yes, guests at Iberostar Selection Creta Marine have highlighted that: We recently returned from a lovely stay in the Iberostar Creta Marine, i have summarized some key points from our stay below :) ILLNESS: If i'm honest, when i read the reviews prior to coming on this holiday i was dreading it based on the reviews around people getting ill. I was actually close to cancelling because i didn't want to go on holiday to get sick. However, my husband refused to cancel and we travelled in a group of 4 adults and 1 toddler and no one caught the infamous "bug" and we didn't hear of any other families suffering from the "bug" either. There are hand sanitisers on every table in every restaurant, including at the entrance of the main buffet restaurant (which a staff member was regularly encouraging people to sanitise their hands prior to entering the restaurant). The hotel is spotlessly clean and to be honest i don't think the hotel could of done more than they already were to stop the spread of any germs. CHECK IN: The rose given to female guests at check in was a lovely touch. We were also given a sandwich as the restaurant was closed by the time we arrived. ANIMATION TEAM: The animation team made our stay at this hotel. They are beyond amazing and try and get everyone involved in the activities (but no pressure to take part). The animation team are such a fun group and we really enjoyed taking part in the music quiz in the pool. I wish we had taken part in the other activities, but with a toddler in tow it wasn't always easy. Matea is a ray of sunshine and honestly such a blessing to the hotel. We loved chatting to her every day and she always made time to say hi to my son, Leo. I have no idea how she remembers everyone's names! We only went to one evening show during our stay as our son was usually overtired by the time the nighttime activities started, but the African acrobat show was incredible! POOLS: We spent all our time at the main pool because we liked the atmosphere. The pools are cold when you first go in but fine and refreshing when you're in. Most days there were still plenty of sun loungers by 10:30am. Staff also came round the pool at around midday with fruit skewers which was a lovely touch. Apart from the full activity programme, there was also a tzatziki demonstration, Oktoberfest celebration and happy hour at the main pool during our week stay. STAFF: The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. Matea deserves a special mention (again). Two Maria's and Manolis in the restaurant all made such an effort with my son and fist pumped him every time they walked past (which he loved and we appreciated so much as he looked for them every day). All the staff are super welcoming to kids which was lovely. SPA: I went for a massage on my last day and it was amazing!! Highly recommend a visit to the spa. The therapist Georgia K made the experience so enjoyable and i left feeling super relaxed. The spa manager (sorry i didn't get her name) was so lovely!! She was always so smiley, friendly, helpful and welcoming. RESTAURANT: The food was enjoyable and there was lots of options in the main restaurant but the food in general wasn't a stand out highlight for us. There was something for everyone and I noticed there were vegan and gluten free sections in the restaurant. The kids buffet was small and mostly consisted of pasta and sauces and veg. The risotto station was lovely. The orange cake at breakfast and the small chocolate donuts were amazing! We only dined at the Italian restaurant (once for lunch and once for dinner). The staff in the restaurant were so attentive and really went above and beyond. We had quite a wait for food the night we visited (lunch was buffet style), the food was alright but we preferred the variety of the main buffet restaurant. FOOD TRUCK: Highly recommend walking down to the beach to visit the hotel's food truck (included in the all inclusive package). We had gyros and they were amazing. Such a cute quirky concept and in a lovely setting. ROOMS: the rooms were gorgeous, clean and bright. There are plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe If you are travelling with a child i'd recommend doing a quick loop of the room before letting your child loose as we had to move a metal corkscrew when we checked in as it was low down and in easy reach of my one year old. We had a garden view room which i felt was maybe a bit small for 2 adults and a toddler (would be perfect for 2 adults) so if we return we'd upgrade to a slightly bigger room. There was unfortunately not an iron in the room. There was a chargeable ironing service available (we didn't use, just embraced the creased clothes). MISC: Accessibility for wheelchair users / children prams is great. Water is served in large glass bottles which is great for the environment but not ideal for taking to the pool or taking out and about. It might be worth taking a water bottle with you. There are no straws at the hotel. As someone with very sensitive teeth this was a bit annoying, especially when there are lots of eco friendly straw options these days. Location - the hotel is in the middle of no where and there isn't anything nearby in walking distance. We hired a car one day and wish we had it for longer as i'd of liked to have visited Herkalion, the pink sand beach and other little gems. All in all, we'd definitely return and really really enjoyed our holiday.
