It was our first vacation in this hotel. Everything was good. Excellent value for money. The beach, kitchen, staff were at a high level. The staff are extremely friendly and positive. The local draft beer and filter coffee were especially great . The special atmosphere of this hotel is complemented by bartender Suleiman Khan (Tupac). It was fun to spend time with him.

“We enjoyed 😁”

We stayed at the Bali Beach Hotel for 7 days and spent every day on the beach. We were always warmly welcomed by Suleman and the other beach boys. The drinks were great and so was the music! We can definitely recommend !!!!!!!!!!!🏝️🏝️🍸🍸 Ish super gsii!

This is a curate's egg of a hotel - good in parts but not in others and I would have some reservations about going there again. The location next to one of Bali's little beaches, in the centre of this lovely, relaxed village, is excellent. The public areas, swimming pools, restaurant and bar areas are all attractive and well-looked after. The food in the buffet restaurant (we were on an all-inclusive deal) was OK but we often needed to use a microwave to heat it up more. Good snacks were available round the pools, between the meals. The drinks that you had to pay for were very reasonably priced - five euros at happy hour for a big aperol spritz is an absolute steal when I am used to paying £10 in the UK. Contrary to what my tour operator's website said (it was Onthebeach) there is no a la carte restaurant onsite but there are at least two excellent establishments nearby and the nearest, the Mythos, gives Bali Beach Hotel customers 15 per cent off. Now for the problems, which centre around the rooms and access to them. We were in the Sofia Village part, which is down the road from the main building. We arrived at 2am and a staff member led us up a 1 in 5 hill, paved in rough concrete, then several dozen steps, to reach our room, which had terrible mould on the bathroom ceiling, very noisy air conditioning, and - as we discovered in the morning, a non-existent "mountain view". My friend suffers from breathing issues, the walk up the hill caused him massive problems, and when we talked to reception in the morning they could see he was struggling even then and that a medical emergency could be about to happen. To give them credit, they moved us immediately to a ground floor apartment, which was excellent (even if the bathroom still had mould on the ceiling!), and the rest of the holiday was fine after that, but we met other people who either didn't like their rooms or objected to the steep climb to reach them and got themselves moved to another room. Neither the Onthebeach website or the hotel's mentions that you may have to drag your suitcases up a concrete mountain in the middle of the night to reach your bedroom, and I would strongly urge anyone with mobility or respiratory issues to steer well clear. If I were to go there again, I would insist on having a room in the main Bali Beach building, where at the most you'd only have a couple of flights of stairs to contend with. The other two buildings, quite frankly, should be demolished and rebuilt with lifts and better plumbing plus properly ventilated bathrooms. It's a pity about these problems, because everyone at the hotel is very friendly and helpful. But you can't just invest in the public areas if you want a successful hotel that people will want to revisit.
