Well this is definitely not a 4* hotel. I will start with the positives, place is clean lovely pool area and nice and close to the beach. The room was a decent size and shower was lovely. Our room was cleaned everyday and fresh clean towels replaced everyday. Good choice at breakfast and my husband loved the coffees. Now for the negatives. On arrival I said I had emailed and requested a better room with a sea view wanted it to be a little extra special as it was mine and my husband’s birthdays. Reception said yes yes sea view. Well we were taken to our room up to 7th floor and then straight to the back of the hotel and back out on the back road to another block completely away from the hotel our view was definitely not the sea view I had requested. But reading the reviews this happens quite a lot with TUI holiday makers which is not a good thing. Even though the breakfasts were ok and plenty to choose from. We thought the food in the evening was not up-to par and we ate out most nights. Most of the staff were quite pleasant with an exception of a few, so miserable and Looked like they didn’t want to be there. Also when you were eating your breakfast some staff couldn’t wait to clear the plates away even when they still had food on and you obviously hadn’t finished. Overall Chania is a lovely place especially the town, we did have a good time once we overlooked the negatives. And We would return back to the resort

“Average but okay”

Me and my friend visited in October 2024 for 8 days, at first glance this is not a 4 star hotel as tui have advertised and I do feel by the pictures that we were catfished a little bit. We was not happy at first but decided to make the most of it. If you are wanting a lay in in the mornings there is no chance of this as we was up at 7:30 every day just to ensure we got a sunbed by the pool! Sunbeds on the beach are 10 euros everyday for 2 with 2 small bottles of water which I find ridiculous! I see a lot of reviews talking about the British being shoved to the far end of the hotel as opposed to the beach side, this was no the case for us as luckily we had a room on the beach side. Breakfast is on the beach side, lunch and dinner is on the other side which is sometimes quite annoying but the beach side bar offers snacks from lunchtime to around 5pm it is very basic but it does the job. The food at dinner always had a theme and we never found a problem with this we loved it! The drinks machine was always either flat or not flavour it was very hot or miss but always go for lemonade it was the only one that seemed to taste okay all the time! We went out for dinner a few times and there are 2 restaurants we definitely reccomend Kri Kri restaurant and refresh beach bar and restaurant there food was amazing and the staff are so lovely! Really good prices too so is a must if you are visiting! Overall we would stay again but only if the hotel was modernised and had more entertainment.

Not a 4 star hotel . We felt like being with tui got shoved to the back with sub standard rooms . Food was really good especially breakfasts . Some of the staff made it clear they didn't enjoy their jobs . But 1 stood out . George a big thank you to him he was so helpful always smiling and always working hard. Have to pay for sun beds on a overcrowded beach which is alot of money when you are there for more than 2 weeks, also have to be up super early to get a bed on the beach it says no reserving beds but everyonedoes . Have to pay for the towels have to pay for the safe and also holiday tax so the cost of the holiday increases. I will say the hotel and rooms were kept spotless . Alot of walking so beware if you have mobility problems

Firstly this is NOT a 4🌟 hotel and priority and best beach front are given to.Scandanavians. If you don't go to breakfast by 7.30a.m no chance of a sunbed as already taken by yellow towels. The food is average and evenings is like a free for all (no dress code)and guest clearing own tables as not enough staff The staff look scruffy, no name badges, and the restaurant manager just stood around instead of helping No manager in beach bar. With guests wandering around bikinis etc even though it clearly states not too.No one to enforce this, lack of free cocktails etc .. The pool the British side is uninspiring and boring Wont be returning sadly Lovely on the beach but thats about it.

We have just returned from a great break in Crete stopping at Iolida beach hotel. Overall a very nice hotel , great location and has a very clean part of the beach. Firstly the hotel ….. It is split in two, one half on the beach side and the other half over a road which to be fair it looks like a few hotels do in this area. Also looks like they predominately send the English travellers over the road. It’s not a problem and both sides have there own pool although you can obviously use both. The main restaurant is also over the road. The hotel is rated by TUI as a four star , the hotel rates itself a five star however in my opinion it’s a high end three star or a very low end four star. So let’s go through the good stuff and why I’d say it’s a low end four start. Bedrooms (we had a studio) plenty of room and the beds for once were very comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily and always very tidy when we returned. Staff were very polite and friendly enough. Once you got talking to them they were very nice . A little tip here and there also goes a long way and the amount of hours they put in they deserve some extra money. The location was great, lovely clean beach (but not very big) and crystal clear waters ! Ideal for snorkelling as there was plenty of fish around and with it being shallow and clear it was great to snorkel. The food was unbelievable! I honestly can’t see how anybody could complain about the quality and choice of food on offer ! This was for sure five star food ! Every evening was a different theme and they had a great selection of food from that theme ! Fresh salads and cheeses available and fantastic deserts . Breakfast was more repetitive but again the food was fantastic. Alcohol was ok from the beach bar but the self service ones in the restaurant wasn’t great. But it’s to be expected on an all inclusive. The reason I say it’s possibly a three star is due to the following. The rooms are very very basic and aged. We had a larger studio room . The bathroom we had consisted of a bath and a shower. The bath was stained all over so we gave that a miss. The show cubicle was fitted wrong meaning the door didn’t close properly so the bathroom flooded when taking a shower so we used a couple of towels to sort this issue out. Grouting in the shower area on the tiles was completely missing, holes in the bathroom walls where old fittings were previously. Fixtures and fittings all loose and hanging off and the sink was cracked all the way across. The entertainment at night is pretty much non existent. We had a DJ on the Saturday night for a couple of hours at the beach bar and a saxophone player on the Monday or Tuesday . Other than that there was nothing else and the local supermarket made a fortune on playing cards as everyone just purchased these to entertain themselves at night as there was nothing else to do. Most 4 or 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in offer shuttles to the nearest towns etc but nothing on offer from this hotel. The sunbeds on the beach are charged for which is not the end of the world at 10 euros per two beds which includes two bottles of water and towels are 5 euros each for the length of your stay but again I’ve stayed in a lot of four and five star hotels that offer these for free. Very limited amount of sunbeds but the beach isn’t very big so that’s not the hotels fault. But get down to the beach for 7:30/8 for a good peg . This was out of season so I can see it being chaos in peak season. I think some attention to detail would 100% make this hotel a well deserved 4 star . More entertainment, more information on hand for guests rather than having to ask the reception for everything and to give the rooms a little modernising and sort out the repairs needed. For a five start it has quite a way to go but to be honest don’t think it has the space to be able to do the things needed. Location: I think it’s in a great location. The beach is unbelievable and you can walk for miles down the beach and find bigger areas, don’t think you need to stay where the hotel has its own area. There are a good few shops and restaurants on the road so great for popping out for something to eat and drink . All the shops are the usual tourist shops selling pretty much identical things but worth a look round. Around 15 mins taxi ride from Chania (17 to 20 euros) and this place is really worth a visit. Its picturesque with a lovely harbour and surrounded by shops and restaurants. We went three times and loved every minute of it. You can get the bus but take it from me don’t bother unless you are very very early or well out of peak season. The bus stop is not far from outside the hotel but it gets busy very quick ! They come every 20 mins and we had to wait for the third bus due to the first two being full and the third just about got us on and took 40 mins in 32oc heat! It was the first and last time we used it abs seen them like this all week so we just used taxis. We rented a car from over the road for a day but typically my partner wasn’t to well that day (to much sun but she won’t be told 😂) I did 3km in it going to a pharmacy and a shop , left it parked in the hotel car park all day and returned it at 4pm . Handed it over and the manager said he wasn’t going to look it over as he “trusted me”! 1 hour late I get a call from him saying there is a big scratch on the front bumper and I need to return as I will have to pay 400euro excess! I knew this was rubbish as I checked it over when I parked it up incase it got caught whilst in the underground parking and there wasn’t a mark ! I told him I will come back about 6pm to have a look. When I got there I could see the car parked in the distance with a big black mark on the bumper which was that obvious I’d of noticed it because I could see it from about 50 metres away ! When I seen him I told him there’s no way I’ve done that and that he would of noticed it straight away when I parked it up as he was outside when I brought it back and parked it up infront of him. He said he hadn’t seen it but was bad damage so I looked at it and noticed it looked like a rubber mark as though a tyre had rubbed against it or somebodies trainer from climbing on it . I started to rub it and asked if he had tried using so polish on it and he and another guy said they have used numerous items to clean it but it’s “bad damage” I then told them my job which is running a chain of HGV workshops and body shops jd that I’m a qualified mechanic. Upon telling them that they both changed there tune, couldn’t be more friendly if they tried! I said go and get me what you have apparently used and bring it to me, they did so, and I was happy to try clean it off but he wouldn’t allow me and was very polite, three wipes of a cloth and polish later the car was spotless and the 12 inch mark was gone with absolutely no scratches. I told them both nice try to which I got a smile back saying I was lucky ! I just laughed and said if you say so and left it there. So my advise is take pictures when you are handing a car back don’t fall for the friendly I trust you rubbish ! Overall loved the holiday, I would go back to the same hotel if I was stopping near that area and if you have booked the hotel already you will enjoy it but don’t expect the the four or five star service you might expect but it’s very pleasant and clean and the food and location is fantastic!
