Beautiful hotel staff very welcoming especially Dimitris at the pool bar his pina coloda cocktails were to die for,room was spacious enough space for us very clean room cleaned every day unless you don't need it.Food fresh and a variety of choice. Don't let the hill put you off its not that bad but we are from Yorkshire so used to hills there is a free shuttle taxi up and down if you choose.The entertainment singer put on was very funny a good night at the pool bar

Following our lovely weeks stay at the Eleftheria we found it's meaning translates to 'Freedom' and this hotel really does give you the freedom to love Crete. The breakfast consisted of a vast range of delicious choices catering for those wishing to indulge in traditional greek dishes as well as home comforts. The views from the pool & dining area were beautiful! The room facilitated a comfortable stay, with ample storage space, sound proofing and restful bedding. It was nice we had our room cleaned everyday and received fresh towels. We did pay a bit more for a superior room but hadn't appreciated these are all ground floor and looking on to a car park which let it down a bit. We asked to be moved but unfortunately the sea view rooms were fully booked. Dimitri was brilliant always helpful with providing much needed refreshment by the pool. A small criticism is the sunbeds were quite uncomfortable and some beds/brollies were broken. In regards to the hill, it's really not that bad, leaving the hotel is downhill with the return providing a slight incline and is about 10 mins from the main road. The hotel does provide a free minibus service in both directions if required. We used the gym several times, whilst compact it offers a decent range of equipment so certainly with a visit of this interests you, but it does get rather warm. For me any hotel experience is only as good as the people there and the staff at the Eleftheria were all amazing. Exceptionally kind, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for wonderful Greek holiday memories then the Eleftheria is the one to 'Crete' them for you.

The good, the bad and the ugly. First let’s start with the good. The pool is very good with amazing views out to sea,our room which we paid extra for to have a superior room also had an amazing view out to sea.Breakfast selection was pretty decent to be fair and we never had any issues with the food. The Bad.. some of the staff are not the friendliest, we have been holidaying in Greece(mainly Kos) for the past 10 years and always found the people very friendly. It was very difficult to get a smile from some of the staff at times. The cleanliness of the hotel in general apart from the restaurant and pool area was not great, our room was not cleaned properly for the whole two weeks with build up of dirt etc on the balcony and in the corners of the room, the sides were never wiped down except by ourselves. Sun loungers are old and very uncomfortable with no cushions which is not very pleasant for more than a couple of hours. Now the Ugly… On the website there are photos of a gym which look ok if basic, we tried the gym on our second day as we both wanted to keep fit whilst on holiday although the steep hill 3 times a day accounted for that lol. But back to the gym, to say it is awful would be an understatement. It is absolutely tiny tucked away in the corner of Block 2, very dirty with ancient equipment that would not have looked out of place in the 70’s. Bearing in mind it was 30 plus degrees everyday the air conditioning in there is pathetic and I think we lasted about 15 minutes before having to leave and did not return. Be warned it is an absolute sweat box. All in all we had a lovely two weeks but spent most of the time out of the hotel. Back to Kos for us next year.

“Nice hotel but food poor ( cold at all sittings )”

We could not fault the hotel for cleanliness and facilities however the food was not the best , served cold at every sitting therefore we had to eat out five nights out of the seven even though we were on a half board basis . We will not be returning to this hotel in the future .
