We only booked the hotel 3 weeks ago as a last minute break and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the service has been amazing. We chose to go all-inclusive and all the food was excellent with plenty of choice at all meal times. House keeping was also excellent as were the lovely suites. Just wanted to say a special thank you to Goran and Nikos in the restaurant for looking after us this past week. Hopefully see you again in the future

Where to start? We booked for 7 nights late season for a peaceful getaway for two exhausted parents of teenagers.The holiday choice did not disappoint as everything was top notch although weather was touch and go but it was expected as out of season so not as problem in our lives. The hotel is a bit out of Chania but 3 buses an hour was adequate for when we visited, Chania is well worth a visit as it’s a beautiful place and somewhat reminiscent of Venice when your at the port side. The room was to die for! Great bed and lovely sea view as well.The rooms were impeccably clean and the ladies who clean them thoroughly deserve a tip for the hard work and care they give in their role.Breakfast was lovely and very satisfactory and everything was seasoned to perfection.Lunch was always great from the pizza to the beef wraps all to die for but….the tasty prize goes to the not so humble apple pie well this was truly out of this world! Big congrats to the chef.Dinner was buffet unless you booked a La carte which we did once and it was lovely but most evenings we were very happy just to have a small plate of dips, salads & bread and then on to George’s bar for a couple before bed.George is an absolute star! If you get the chance ask him to make you a “Zion” cocktail it’s lush! Now on to the staff who all deserve a massive congratulations for being so lovely and really making our holiday 🥰I’m really bad for names but the lady who looked after us at breakfast was so lovely and friendly she always had a massive smile for us snd and a cheery “kalimera” every morning. We hired a car with another couple and we went to the botanical gardens snd also the gorge as the views are spectacular! All in all I would highly recommend the Asterion. The pool wax also fine as we swam a few times as did others x the sea was lovely snd warm but be careful as the current is very strong and you can quickly lose control. We just wanted to share a little update about our recent holiday. From start to finish it was truly an all round beautiful experience. The location was perfect for what we were looking for, it had an amazing view of the ocean with plenty of opportunities to go out and explore, whether you enjoy a long stroll or prefer to take the bus or a cab. You could go from a tranquil quiet part of the Island to being in busier parts within 10-20 minutes. The Hotel itself was well kept and clean in all areas, the room we had was spacious and always kept clean and restocked, and the little chocolate treats around 5pm was a lovely little touch. It was renovated about 4 years ago and is in keeping with other buildings in the area. The pool was a good size for a boutique hotel with plenty of sunbeds, loungers and seated areas around it. If the beach is more your thing then the Hotel has it's own area with more loungers and umbrellas about 20 seconds walk from the pool area. The beach itself is protected so there is very little interference with it. And then of course there's the food to mention! It was simply delicious, with a great variety of dishes each day that were all flavoursome. We read some reviews before going that stated lack of variety or healthy...... Well, these people must have stayed somewhere else as this was most definitely not what we found. Each meal was a delight in itself. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style and lunch was from a menu. The apple pie - BEST EVER! However, what really made the trip special were the fantastic people we met along the way. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, which made our holiday even more enjoyable. You can stay in the best 5* hotels in the world but what makes a stay from good to great is the staff. They play a huge part in making people want to go back time and again. All in all, it was a holiday to remember, filled with wonderful memories and new friendships. Just returned from a 10 night stay at asterion. The hotel rooms were clean and food was very good for all inclusive. Breakfast can get a little repetitive but not really sure what else they could offer! I personally didn’t like that there was only 1 set of cutlery at breakfast and the knife and fork was taken from your dirty plate and placed back on the table - I’m sure I could have asked for a fresh set with no problem but for 5 star it should just be replaced. The lunch on all inclusive is not buffet and is a menu - which we prefer. Food at lunch came out quick and hot. There are a couple of bars walking distance from the hotel which we visited and enjoyed. We caught the bus into chania and Platanias on several occasions, around €2 per travel which is very worth it. 10 mins into Platanias and 30-40 mins into chania. The hotel itself was very relaxed and not much for entertainment but that is what we wanted. The pool area was lovely although the fresh pool towels didn’t come out until late morning - we ended up keeping ours from the day before to use. There are lots of cats and dogs around the area which we had no problem with as we are animal lovers. Overall a very good stay.
