After reading the many amazing reviews we decided to book here and it was amazing. No regrets coming here at all. Grigos (I think was his name) on arrival was wonderful! Hotel is massive and there are plenty of pools to use. Some quieter than others. It's a very child friendly family hotel, so the water park was a great addition. We went there most days as it kept the kids entertained for hours. People do reserve sunbeds, they do have rules to say you aren't allowed, but around the main pool with the pool bar, you have to get there earlyish, as most days there was limited beds left due to people putting towels down and leaving them. There's a kids club, we didn't use it but it looked great! Restaurants were great. We used the smaller buffet restaurant by the main pool most days for breakfast and lunch. Food was replenished constantly and staff are really polite. The Meat In restaurant was a favourite of ours, and the Italian was brilliant! Highly recommend those 2, but make sure you book in early, because spaces become limited and you might not get in. We ate out a couple of times - once at a place called Cafe Med which is 10 minutes down the road and was really nice and we also went to a little square in Hersonissos, a restaurant called Myrtios - AMAZING!! Highly recommend if you want to go out of the resort. Rooms were lovely and clean. We had a family room with 2 bedrooms. My only negative comment was the size. It was very small and there wasn't a lot of storage in the master bedroom for clothes etc. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room so wasn't a massive issue, but would have been nice to have a seating area as well as the bedrooms. The snack bars around the pools are amazing.Kids loved the waffles etc, and they all serve different things which was nice. Overall, an amazing hotel dn we would definitely come back again! “Great hotel, great staff and good area!”

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel and it was fantastic. The hotel staff were all lovely, everyone was so friendly. Tony the bartender in the swim up bar was great, he gave us a good recommendation for a nice Greek restaurant. Angelina was lovely too, always smiling and so friendly. The resort is massive so it took us a couple of days to get our bearings. There were 6 pools to choose from, so we never had any problems getting sun loungers. We would usually go about 9am to put our towels down, which are included along with a beach bag! The water park was good too, plenty of slides to choose from. It wasn’t too busy but maybe that’s because we went out of the school holidays. The main restaurant was probably the best buffet restaurant I’ve been to at an all inclusive. The food was good, there was variety and it wasn’t self serve which I much preferred. We also went to 2 of the Al a Carte restaurants, the Italian and the Meat In, they were also good. The only thing with the Meat in was it was very breezy as it was high up and all open, other than that it was good. The beach was nice, with water sports there. The pedalo’s are free for 30 mins or you can pay €10 if you want them for an hour. They’ve also got loungers and beds along the rocks and you can get into the sea from there too, just keep your eye out for the urchins. They have yoga and workout classes everyday so if you like to keep fit you can do them or use one of the 2 gyms they have. The rooms were lovely, with a fridge stocked with drinks daily. All the bars had branded alcohol other than the beer which was local but was still nice and the cocktails were good. We liked the karaoke bar of an evening. You could walk to Stalis in 10 mins where theres a beach and a few bars/restaurants. We ate at Akti which I would definitely recommend. If you want something a bit more lively you can get a 10 minute taxi to Hersonissos, where there are plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs along the seafront. We also took a taxi to Malia, which was 10-15 mins and ate at Avli, this was Tony’s recommendation and it did not disappoint. You will need to reserve a table if going, which you can do on their website. If I had to complain about anything it would be the hairdryer in the room, after 1 min of use it would heat up and cut out, but that is honestly the only bad thing I could say, & that is me nit picking. We would definitely go back to this hotel and I would highly recommend it.

We absolutely adored our stay at Nana Golden Beach. We stayed in a Premium Double Sea View Room and were blown away by the view when we arrived. We found the staff to be efficient and friendly, especially Eva at breakfast who was amazing with our two-year-old son, Tony and his cocktails at the pool bar, and Jonathan with his brilliant aqua gym classes. Food was brilliant at the buffet restaurants, the snack bars, and the a la cartes. We ate at Nami, Azzurro, and Meatin and all were brilliant. Everything is spotless and feels brand new. There are loads of pools and tons of stuff for kids, including a brilliant soft play area and toy room. We loved the evening entertainment, especially the pirate show and the singing trio on the Saturday night. Dolphin Bar was a stunning place to enjoy a cocktail in the evening. There is also a beautiful beach with soft sand and calm waters - perfect for little ones. The waterpark was lots of fun, too. A few suggestions to improve, however. - the use of plastic straws felt a bit out of place for a 5-star hotel - we arrived without our luggage due to the issues at Manchester Airport, so when we got to the hotel we were tired and anxious. We found the check in process to be quite cold - an offer of a drink on arrival, or some support with how to get the bare essentials (even some toothpaste!) would have been appreciated - we very clearly stated on the booking that we had a two-year-old with us, yet our allocated room was down steps with no accessible point, so we had to lug our pram up and down the stairs each time we went to/from our room. We found buggy accessibility to be a bit of a problem throughout the resort. The TV in our room also didn't work - we struggled to find a bed at the main pool on most days if you didn't arrive first thing in the morning. We could easily find beds at other pools, but there is no daytime entertainment programmes at these pools, so we felt we were missing out a bit Other than those points, we had a wonderful time and would definitely consider returning to Nana Golden Beach in the future.

This is a nice resort. But this is a family resort first and foremost and if you don’t want to be surrounded by a lot of children, then don’t come here. The layout is very well considered: each block of rooms seems to have its own pool area which works well. The resort isn’t huge, easily walkable, very accessible. It is extremely clean, everywhere. There are plenty of food outlets, you will find something to eat at almost anytime. The bar areas are never overly full and it is easy to find somewhere to sit. We booked the double garden rooms and were given rooms which were perfectly positioned by the main pool. They are not the biggest rooms, but big enough for 2 people. Bathrooms are lovely. Plenty of toiletries, we didn’t use any of our own when we stayed. Air conditioning good and room was always cool. Mini fridge selection for an AI was poor: 3 soft drinks and bottles of water, zero alcohol. Whilst towels were charged daily, I’m unsure if the rest of the room was cleaned and the bedding wasn’t changed all week. The good news is that there are zero sun bed wars here; they have loungers everywhere! You could go down to the pool or the beach at midday and you’d easily be able to find loungers for all. The beach is lovely, water very calm and perfect for swimming. 30 mins free use per day of canoe or pedalo, everything else is chargeable. There are loads of pools here. Also the water park is fun and a few of the slides are very fast and very high. It was never busy at the water park, the most there that we saw on the counter when you go in was 69 people! It’s like you have the place to yourself. Entertainment is good and there is always something to do here. The animation team are excellent. There is an onsite shop that sells everything and it’s reasonably priced. However, the main reason for the 4 score is that this, in my opinion, is not a 5 star resort. And in the main this is due the following. Food; main buffet is some form of underground room which is just bizarre. The soundproofing is non existent. Which is unfortunate when around 50% of the guests are small children. It’s constant noise, clatter, iPads blaring out kids stuff, plates being scraped. It’s not an enjoyable eating experience; we found ourselves literally going in and out as quick as we could. The a la cartes are beautifully located, but really let down by the food. At the Italian which we booked for a birthday we were there 2.5 hours only to receive a wrong starter, and then 2 pizzas which were literally raw dough. We ordered dessert but gave up waiting after 25 mins and left. It really ruined the night. We did speak with a waitress who told us there was a better chef on the night before, helpful! The buffet food is lukewarm, lots of pork and very much the same thing every night. It is more heavily catered to the Dutch / German clientele. Also for the number of kids staying there I’ve never seen such a poor kids buffet; 4 things every night. I did however like that they serve you in the buffet, much cleaner and less opportunity for cross contamination, but a smile on their faces when they serve you wouldn’t go amiss. The bars were a little hit and miss with service, sometimes we waited quite a long time for drinks and ended up doubling up our orders so we didn’t have to do so. Small touches like welcome drinks on arrival, check in during holidays to ask how it’s going, pre check out information, lounger service pool and beach side, all the “touches” that are standard for 5 star are missing. Our check in was functional and our guest relation was trying to check us in, be on the phone and sort her colleagues out at the same time. It wasn’t the warmest of welcomes. We sadly also had an incident in one of our rooms of the first evening which resulted in the bathroom being flooded with raw sewage. We called maintenance to turned up to look at it. They rodded a drain outside the room and then left. So we had to call again to ask for the room to be cleaned. In the end we flagged down a passing cleaner and asked if she could help which she so kindly did, and she stripped the entire room and cleaned it for us as the maintenance had walked from the bathroom through the bedroom. These things happen but what was upsetting is that we had the chase to get it resolved and also given it’s really not a pleasant thing to be faced with, there was no contact from guest relations or management to check all was OK which was surprising. So weighing up the good with the bad, whilst I can see that aesthetically this looks like a 5 star and I’m sure it must pass the 5 star test that it’s subject to, if you peel it back a little, for us it’s nowhere near the standards that we’ve been used to and enjoyed. It’s a really nice 4 or 4.5 star resort. For the price we paid for 4 guests for a week, it seems a little on the expensive side. Have said all this we did have a good time, we just would not return. And if you go then please feed and water the kittens and cats that are by the bar terrace, they looked emaciated and not in the best of health.
