We spent an unforgettable two weeks at Mitsis Royal Mare from mid-June to early July. Our group included three adults and three children. We stayed in a Double Garden View Bungalow and Junior Suite with a private pool. Our first contact was with Giorgios Mandalakis, who helpfully and patiently assisted us in finding a suitable package for our group. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with welcome drinks and cool towels. Since lunch service was ending, we were first directed there, after which we received our rooms. Our luggage and we were taken directly to our rooms in the hotel's electric vehicles, during which we were briefly informed about the hotel facilities. Our rooms were also shown to us. The rooms were very clean and met our expectations completely. They were very spacious, and the Junior Suite accommodated four people very easily. There was plenty of drawer and closet space to fit the whole family's clothes and belongings. The rooms were well-maintained, with housekeeping visiting 2-3 times a day to tidy up and empty the trash bins. The minibar was stocked with soft drinks, wine, and water, which were replenished daily at no extra charge. The hotel area is very pleasant, impressive, and well maintained. The pool areas and restaurants are smartly placed in the center of the buildings, so any potential wind doesn't affect them. There are a few small shops on the premises where you can get almost everything from souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, and snacks to daily products. The pool areas can get crowded at times, but we almost always managed to get a sunbed after a short wait. There are two main pool areas, each with pool bars. Lifeguards are almost always present at the pools. The hotel has its own spa, offering a wide range of treatments and packages. The spa also has an indoor pool available for hotel guests. There's a reasonably well-equipped gym and a functional training area. The game hall features various coin-operated machines inside and billiard and ping-pong tables outside. There's also mini-golf and a mini-club for the little ones. The hotel area is safe, with access restricted and a staff member ensuring entrants are authorized. If you need cash, there's an ATM on the premises. The hotel also has a nurse and doctor available daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Thank you for the good care. The hotel has a concierge almost always available, helping guests with á la carte restaurant reservations and arranging additional services like adventure excursions. The hotel offers a wide selection of pre-arranged excursions, but asking might get you even more options! Thanks to Alicia for the VIP treatment and organizing the VIP boat trip. You are the right person in the right place. There's evening entertainment every night at the pool area next to the main building: live music and performances. There is no formal seating area. In addition to cleanliness and good service, we must particularly say few words of the hotel's food and drink offerings. Besides the main restaurant, there are several á la carte restaurants on site. One brunch, two lunch, and three dinner restaurants. You can reserve one visit per restaurant per week, so for a week-long stay, you can make six themed reservations if you wish. We found this to be a particularly nice touch, adding variety and an experiential aspect to our dining. The buffet in the main restaurant is diverse and changes regularly for both lunch and dinner. The food quality in every restaurant is high. In the main restaurant, all drinks are served at the table, and food is self-served from a clean and spacious area. There were no queues at any point, as there were several serving points. In the á la carte restaurants, food is ordered from a menu and served at the table. Waiting times for food preparation were short and glasses were regularly refilled. The hotel has its own beach area, well-equipped with sunbeds and a beach bar. The area is clean, with smooth sand/pebbles, making it easy to walk barefoot. There are several lifeguards constantly present at the beach. During our stay, the sea was quite rough on several days, making swimming in the sea prohibited. The main bar (Minos Bar) has several sofa and table groups outside. Inside, there are several seating areas for larger groups. The outdoor area is very popular and often full, but we always found seats inside without difficulty. At all times, there is table service, which works well. The selection of drinks and cocktails is wide and of high quality, featuring both local and brand-name options for different needs. There are numerous non-alcoholic options available, even customizable beyond the menu. Our experience was excellent, and we can recommend this place to any family seeking high quality and memorable experiences. We visited St. George’s Bay, and our super friendly skipper Stefanos took us around. On the boat, he offered us refreshments and snacks. Highly profesional team în all departments from which we will like to give a special thanks to: Fotini from Main restaurant, Afroditi and Manolis from beach restaurant, the maitre Giorgos, mr. The Minos Bar and the pool bar have excellent cocktails. The servers are so kind and super friendly, the kind that remember your order even though there are a lot of people staying here! I would highly recommend the Louise & Ruby Highball as some of the best cocktails they make. I would also highly recommend this hotel! Restaurants and Bars catered extremely well for my partner who has multiple severe allergies and coeliac disease, offering many alternatives to dinner selections and taking care in the kitchen for her health.

We have been staying at Royal Mare for nine nights and I wanted to share my honest views on this hotel. The location is great, with the resort being a comfortable 20km taxi from the airport. The hotel was acquired by the Mitsis Group about three years ago so isn't purpose built by them, but the Mitsis vibe is there. I would rate the hotel as a four star standard, which is not meant as a criticism. It does reflect the two sides of the coin for this hotel though. Simply speaking, the hotel is in need of targeted refurbishment, as it is the standard of the property and facilities that make this a four star for me. We moved rooms during our stay, due to a leaky fridge, air-conditioning unit and puddling bath. The room we moved to was much better and in better condition. The staff however are first class and the standard of customer service is excellent. Special mention to Anna in Guest Relations, Maria (and Giorgios) at the Kalypso Bar, Elsa in the Symposium Restaurant and Athina in the Geleteria, all deserve special praise and are a credit to Mitsis. Restaurants and the range of food available are excellent. An enjoyable stay and we will return in the future once the hotel is fully refurbished.
