“A gem amongst giants”

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for 4 weeks in September/October 2024. We chose the hotel as it appealed to us as a family run hotel rather than the larger 5* hotels that surround it. Our first room D7 looked onto a little courtyard area which was pretty, however, it was shaded all day, and you were looking directly at your neighbours. We asked if it would be possible to move as we were there for an extended time and the reservations manager was so accommodating and friendly. We were given a choice of rooms when they became available 3 days later and opted for F3 which was at the bottom of the private villa, it was far bigger, and the bathroom was more modern. We requested a mattress topper for the bed and found it really comfortable for our stay. The unheated pool was empty most of the days until mid afternoon and there was no issue getting a lounger, no-one 'reserved' beds with their towels. I actually found it more enjoyable beside the small children's pool as this was not used the majority of our holiday and had the comfort of shade from the trees. Our stay was half board and we found the food was very good quality and plenty of options daily. The outside bar was closed but you could order drinks that the staff would bring from the adjoining restaurant. The hot drinks were available at breakfast but not in the evening, there are kettles and cups and saucers in the rooms as well as a fridge. The staff were very nice, some more chatty than others but all equally polite and approachable. There is one bus a day in each direction from the stop outside the neighbouring hotel, a 3 minute walk at max. The bus to Hersonissos cost 2 Euro in each direction and continues on to Aghios Nikolaos. The tour booking shop next door has very competitive prices and we found some much cheaper than with our holiday booking company. For those that enjoy watching television, the ones in the rooms have limited English speaking channels, just the news ones but the internet connection is good enough to stream programmes onto portable devices. The housekeeping staff were very cheery and friendly, they work very hard to keep the rooms clean each day. We very much enjoyed our lengthy, totally relaxing stay and were pleased with our choice of hotel and location. There were many nationalities at the hotel over the course of 4 weeks which may account for fewer UK reviews.

“Average stay in hotel, but area is fantastic”

Pros: Fantastic beaches only 10 minute walk Good shop on site Personal space was good with patio or balcony Cons: Very little on your doorstep, we ended up paying between €20-€30 each night for a taxi to a surrounding village for meals and drinks. Had very little interaction with staff - not even a hello in a morning - with exception of room cleaners and gentleman with dark hair on the desk, note they did talk to some people (maybe regulars?) Sheets and towels were not changed after Monday until we checked out Friday Breakfast not bad, not great but did feel like a bit of a cattle market trying to get it. Cannot get any drinks or snacks at the pool, have to leave and go to restaurant at the roadside

“Nice place”

Reception staff are friendly and helpful and the cleaners do a great job. The room itself was clean and had everything you need. I had to be careful in the shower as it sometimes flooded.The room also had a nice terrace and was quiet.The breakfast was good and plentiful. The pool was always crowded… more

Reception staff are friendly and helpful and the cleaners do a great job. The room itself was clean and had everything you need. I had to be careful in the shower as it sometimes flooded.The room also had a nice terrace and was quiet.The breakfast was good and plentiful. The pool was always crowded and sunbeds reserved well in advance(we all know the culprits)..The boss(the guy with the beard)is a nice guy if you get talking to him but can easily be mistaken for the gardener or taxi driver🤣There's a good restaurant next door plus a mini Market and travel center.

“Nice hotel but not near anything”

This hotel is a little bit away from everything. The area is dominated by huge hotel complexes so the area does not have the Greek charm of other areas I have visited. To get to a beach that is not ‘owned’ by one of the hotels, you need to walk quite a way - around 30mins. Also the hotel is in the flightpath of planes coming in to land at Heraklion. The hotel is situated on a hill, so there will always be some uphill walking wherever you go! The roads are not very well lit or signed so be careful as it is easy to get lost! The hotel itself is nice, with decent modern rooms, small bathrooms and a good pool area. In September there wasn’t a pool bar open but the hotel has a bar/restaurant attached. The guys here are very friendly and the food is ok. The rooms are cleaned meticulously but the same can’t be said for the pool area. The pool and sunloungers are good, I just didn’t see anyone cleaning the area in a week. The rooms have fridges and comfy beds, and the breakfast is ok, but a bit samey.
