Me and my friend Anne have just come back from Villa Marie Kelly apartments had a wonderful 12 night stay. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The area was lovely with so many taverna’s and bars very close by. The owners and the staff were amazing, they go out of their way to help you in any way. We met some lovely people there who are now our friends. Billy, Adele and Dave, Jaci and Ruth, Lisa and Wayne to mention just a few! Lovely breakfasts from Natalie and superb service from George the bar man who worked very hard and such long hours he kept the bar open to accommodate the guests until they went to bed even if it was 3 o’clock in the morning! Always happy! Thank you all xx

“Fantastic Villa”

This is a very family friendly villa, the staff are very cheery, the beach is about a 2 minute walk and the sea is very clear, the transfer to the hotel was about 35 minutes, we really recommend this villa.

A brilliant little gem of a place, in a great location for those who don't like to venture far but there is the option of doing so if you wish via taxi, travel agent or local bus. Close to beach and shops, more than enough choice without venturing down to the bigger part of the resort. Downside, if any is people putting towels on sunbeds round the pool and sometimes not even using them. There are a limited number and if you don't want to be in direct sun or shade then it should be first come first served, not hold a bed in case. Big thanks to Alex and George for being the hosts with the most, keeping everyone happy and hydrated. Owners barely talked to me to be honest but that's fine. Rooms were clean and spacious, a socket nearer bed would have been useful but not essential. Bathroom modern with the holy trinity of Greek showers all available (shower tray/drain, curtain and hook!) so bonus points there. Met some lovely people, thanks to them too for looking out for me as a single female traveller.

Villa Marie Kelly apartments have a lot of positives but some negatives too. Positives: The apartments are very spacious with all the things you need for self catering. The toastie maker was an added bonus! I've never seen an apartment with multiple balconies before, each with a different view. The bathroom is one of the best greek bathrooms I've ever seen. Huge walk in shower, big basin, shower that doesn't go cold then hot then cold. The apartments are cleaned every day with towels being changed twice a week (sometimes more). Both the ladies that clean are a credit to the apartments. They are so friendly and go out of their way to speak to you inside and outside the apartments. They did a perfect job cleaning, spotless every day! The pool is a huge pool with plenty of space to swim around even with multiple people in. Always a sunbed free, no one gets up at stupid o'clock to put their towels down and when not in use everyone removes their towels. We never had food at the pool bar but the drinks were cheap and well needed on a warm day. Both ladies behind the bar in the morning are lovely, always made you feel welcome. Both men behind the bar on the night time always greeted you and asked how your day was. The area the apartments are in is the quiet part of Gouves and only a 2 minute walk from great restaurants and the beach. The main shopping centre is about 40 minutes walk away so keep that in mind. Negatives: The apartments say they have soundproofing but I don't think they do as you can hear everything your neighbour is doing, even going to the toilet. The balconies don't have any privacy so it feels like you're sitting with your neighbours, staring at each other. The apartments are very noisy - you can hear the music from central bar but it does stop at an early ish time (11pm). The apartments are set up in a square almost so when someone closes a door it echos around the complex making it sound like they have slammed the doors. You can hear every conversation being had also. An important note: Reading the reviews made us book these apartments because 90% of them are positive. These reviews are from regulars that have been going to these apartments for years. This accommodation is VERY cliquey. It's extremely obvious who is regular and who isn't. You feel very pushed out if you're not with the in crowd. You will get treated differently so don't expect to have the same experience as majority of these reviews. ! The cleaners and bar staff don't make you feel like this ! - just the owners and other regulars.
