Had a great short break at Magda Hotel Club. We stayed in the premium area in a room with whirlpool. We arrived late at night and were given a warm welcome from Dimitri and personally escorted to our room and given lots of information. Over all we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel. Room The room was modern and exceptionally clean. We did encounter a couple of problems with the whirlpool but the reception team were very responsive in aiming to resolve this for us. The dedicated sun loungers for this area were a great bonus as it meant there wasn’t this usual rush to grab a bed first thing - we did notice a few people not staying in the premium rooms using the beds but as off peak season this wasn’t a problem however this would be quite annoying peak season if not monitored. Pool The pool areas were all very well maintained and very clean - pools were very cold given time of year but we did manage a couple of swims! Cleaners and maintenance team were out every morning making sure pools ready for use. Roof top pool was a great little sun trap. Bar was closed at this space but think due to us visiting at low season. Sun loungers were very comfortable. Food & Drink Drinks were average for an all inclusive. The cocktails were not your ‘standard’ choices and needed an acquired taste! - although measures were good and we still managed to sample most :) ! Beer and wine on tap were great as was the selection of on tap juices and other soft drinks. LOVED the fresh orange juicer at breakfast! Coffee from machine was disappointing and not the best quality. Food I would not rate as 4* but would still rate as good. There was a fair choice at breakfast with a hot selection along with fruit, yogurt and continental options. Lunch and dinner also offered a good choice of hot food - salad and dessert selections were pretty repetitive but could always find something suitable. Labelling wasn’t great if you are vegetarian or have allergies, but staff were available to talk to. The snacks available throughout the day were also good - freshly made pizza, cakes, sandwiches. Popcorn or nuts to have alongside eve drinks was nice touch. Entertainment This was the real let down for us, very little eve entertainment and what was laid on was mainly spoken in French so we struggled to take part. The Greek night was great with authentic music and dancing - getting all involved :) Didn’t see much of the daytime entertainment as this took place away from the area of the hotel we were staying in so didn’t get to hear about it, although there was a board with a timetable of events that could be referred to. Facilities Good facilities including indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Wellness spa area looked good but we didn’t use this has we simply didn’t have the time! Pool table, table tennis, mini golf and tennis courts all great. Option to hire pool towels but there is small charge for this unlike other AIs we have stayed at who just take a deposit. Staff All staff were friendly and polite and spoke a good amount of English. Special mentions to lady who worked the bar each evening of our stay - super friendly & always smiling. Cleaning staff in premium area - rooms spotless with daily cleaning and again friendly, polite and an all round lovely lady. Vasilis on reception assisting with our various questions and requests. Dining room staff worked hard to keep tables clean and relaid. Surrounding area The hotel is located away from the centre of Gouves but only a short walk to shops, bars and restaurants. There are a few shops in the immediate vicinity selling usual touristy items and beach essentials with a small supermarket for drinks and snacks along with Car Hire and excursions companies. The walk back form the town to hotel at night was a little dark and would recommend a taxi. The beach is a short stroll and definitely worth a visit - sandy beach with water sports avail and Sun loungers / parasols available to hire.

OK I will warn you this might be a long review but it will be an honest one. We (my husband, 8 year old son, my dad and myself) stayed at Magda hotel for a week in October 2024. A warm welcome by the receptionist and we were shown to our rooms and given the necessary details for restaurant, bar facilities etc. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, modern and so clean. Always clearing glasses and plates etc. The staff are lovely and friendly (well the ones we spoke to anyway), the cleaners do an amazing job of cleaning the rooms and is done daily. The food was good, we always managed to find something we liked. Not the largest of restaurants I have been too but big enough for the hotel, food sometimes just warm but to be expected from a buffet style restaurant. My son struggled a little with the food and ate spag bol most days but that's kids for you. No 'kids' food as I would call it like chicken nuggets etc but they did have pizza and pasta every night. Drinks were help yourself in the restaurant and bar apart from spirits or cocktails. But wine, beer, soft drinks and hot drinks all help yourself. The entertainment during the day was OK, but not advertised very well. Activities such as table tennis, boules, archery, aqua gym, darts etc. The evening entertainment was hit and miss mainly focused to the adults i thought. There was a mini disco 2 nights we were there but only lasted about 15mins. The kids entertained themselves playing football, darts and table tennis on the central grass area. We arrived a few days before the UKs kids half term, so the kids club wasn't on, I think it opened a few days before we left and seemed to be for smaller children and again wasn't well advertised. The pools were freezing due to the time of year, but once you were in it wasn't too bad. We mainly used the roof top pool as this got the sun the most and my son could touch the bottom. The hotel guests were mainly French, please note I have nothing against the French but the staff and the entertainment mainly spoke French and I felt the hotel was more aimed at them than any other nationality which at times made us feel a little isolated. I had an amazing massage in the wellness spa, a lady goes round the pool and asks if you want to know about the wellness services, I was offered a free 5 min massage on my sun bed, she then persuaded me to book a massage with Ivana. I am glad I did it was fabulous 👌 The hotel is in the resort of Gouves but apart from the beach and a train that goes round there didn't seem to be alot going on. A few shops and bars but not much else. We got a bus one day to Hersonissos which was easy and cheap. Took about 20 mins to get there was alot more going on, lots of shops, restaurants, go karts, train ride etc. Overall we had a lovely holiday, would I recommend it? Yes, if you're looking for a quiet relaxing holiday, would i go back probably not only because of the lack of things to see and do in the resort, but as I say the hotel is beautiful and we had a lovely time.
