A wonderful wellness hotel in an incredible location. Situated in the beautiful resort of Agios Nikolaos the hotel sits on its own quiet peninsular with amazing sea views. It has a great balance as it is away from the main resort but only a 10-15 minute walk gets you to the esplanade that runs around the main town - and was a great 10k safe running loop for me. The pool, beach and many little nooks on the hillside with sunbeds and loungers are all peaceful (adults only resort) and all have calming, beautiful views out to sea. The friendly staff were happy to chat and provided a great service. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very tasty, with good a selection of dishes, one of my favourites was the warm fava topped with black sliced olives - I had to be careful not to overeat! We treated ourselves to the special a la carte restaurant over looking the beach for one of our meals and were not disappointed, the seafood was devine. We would certainly return as the location and balance the resort provided was ideal, and we also felt we got good value for money.

This has been a wonderful experience with very minor details for improvement. - Location: It’s a 35 minute walk from the centre, but a wonderful walk nonetheless. We didn’t mind walking there on a daily basis. - Hotel design: Absolutely wonderful! Recently renovated rooms/hotel lobby/restaurant. It was perfect. - Cleanliness: Very clean hotel and bed linen. What you expect basically at a 5 star resort. - Breakfast: Delicious breakfast with amazing varieties. Excellent service. - Hotel service: This is where it goes down to 5 stars. We didn’t have any water in our room the first day, the next day at noon we asked for water and they said we can get it at 6pm. But we mentioned that we never got water in the first place (we got water at the end but after an hour). Room service was slow, the lady who brought in water we asked her if she could kindly arrange our room since their room service is up till 4pm we couldn’t wait longer. We think the service is slow overall. The check in process was slow too (but we were changing our reservation hence maybe that was the cause). - Another comment, the hotel needs actual bins and not just baskets with black bags for us to insert. It’s inconvenient. - Otherwise everything at the hotel was perfect and we will definitely come back again in the bear future.

A lovely hotel visually - I wouldn't say it's a 5 star, although everyone is very lovely, the service just isn't a 5 star service, but I think it will improve. We wasn't explained anything upon arrival or shown around. Theres no signs to show you where to go for any restaurants, lobby or bar areas. First two days we constantly got lost. Location is beautiful, beach and sunbeds are wonderful. When we booked it said we would get an upgrade if available, we never got this and was shown to a sea bungalow ( which is more like a 3 star room) we asked to change and they then offered us much better options. The cocktail list needs to be improved, if you stick to classic cocktails without some strange twist, I think everyone would prefer ( the espresso martini is very questionable, along with the Pina colada) Wine is lovely. Plates were often left on our table at breakfast for too long, and the offer of coffee and orange juice also took awhile, some mornings we had already eaten our breakfast before anyone offered drinks. However the breakfast selection is fantastic. The gym was always busy, but the gym needs updated equipment, an actual running machine and a safer bike. there's also no wipes or cleaning supplies to clean the machines or mats after. yoga was ok, again nothing to clean the mats, so were reusing dirty mats most days. if this small things were improved it would be a great 5 star hotel We stayed at St Nicolas bay next door for two nights after and the service, and cocktails were AMAZING, the gym was GREAT. I couldnt fault it. Was perfect.

We have had a very enjoyable stay at Minos Palace. The hotel design is absolutely beautiful and there are so many beautiful places to explore or relax. Visually it is on par with some of the best hotels we’ve stayed in including Jumeirah Beach. I think we arrived during the first week or two of opening and this did have its disadvantages. The staff were all very new for the season and required some training. For example, when we arrived we did not receive a welcome drink, nothing was explained to us about our stay (like the half board supplement use and value), many of the food/drink wasn’t available and there was no signage for restaurants (the photos in the app aren’t up to date) which made it hard to know what’s going on where or where you can or can’t use the half board supplement. Also, given the hotel is in the Michelin Guide, service in the main restaurant was quite unresponsive with plates left on tables for long periods of time. I am confident this will not continue to be an issue for those arriving later in the season. Special mention to the guest relations manager who was absolutely exceptional and sought feedback throughout the stay. She helped us with a particular issue and we felt this was handled in a way that went above and beyond making the stay exceptionally special. We would absolutely recommend and return to Minos Palace - however we only do this on a bed and breakfast basis. It is so easy to walk into the town or grab a taxi for less than 10 euros and experience some excellent restaurants with great service for dinner instead.
