Sited in a pretty side street in two main blocks about 50m apart, this hotel exceeded expectations. I booked direct and was kept well informed by email and What’s App. We were four female friends and asked for two twin rooms. We were in the higher block so I can only comment on that. We each had a modern newly decorated studio apartment, kitchenette, modern shower room, tea and coffee kits, fridge and free air con. Our long balconies could be used as one by opening a separating door which was a lovely idea, that gave us access to three sides of the building. Our view was of pretty well tended gardens and a glimpse of sea. There were no lifts and quite a few stairs so not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. A short walk to the main reception block took us to breakfast every morning. A rarity in small Greek hotels! Buffet breakfast provided, it changed every day and was of an excellent quality. A cooked section of Greek dishes usually including an egg dish, bread and toasts, fruit, cake, yoghurt, juices and tea and coffee. We loved it. Two of us were vegetarians. We ate outside in the shady frescoed courtyard watching the swallows swooping about. The owner/manager was ever present and obviously runs a tight ship. There was nothing they could have done better. The hotel is staffed by young people from a variety of countries all working hard and with a smile. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily. The hotel arranged our airport transport taxi for €40 each way. We spent our days on the beach further towards the town where we found the water to be clearer. A sunbed set was €12 a day. There is a pool nearby with a snack bar but it had no shade and few beds and we were not welcomed there. There’s a strict minimum spend as it belongs to other apartments. We walked about 10 mins into town to eat each evening. All of the tavernas we tried in the town square were good - a bit pricey everywhere compared to other places in Greece recently visited. €5/6 for a large draught beer pretty standard, same prices in Corfu Town! We really enjoyed the new port area bar. Jacko’s? Which is rather oddly fenced off from the town and is not too apparent. Shame the whole area lacks shade which was much needed in very high temperatures. Large umbrellas were left lying on the ground. Benitses suffers from a very busy main road which runs the full length of the town right along the beach. Fortunately the hotel is in a pretty pocket of town. We bought bus tickets to Corfu Town from a supermarket in town. €3.20 return! The trip is about half an hour. It was too hot to explore so we didn’t do justice to Corfu Town which was much bigger and bustling than expected. Lots of cruises dock here. The airport seems very new and has excellent facilities in Departures. A good job as our return flight was delayed! This hotel is an absolute gem and attracts all nationalities. We had a great time.
