Just arrived home from 10 enjoyable nights stay at the Amalia hotel. Rooms on the small side but clean ,bed comfortable. Bedding and towels changed frequently. Staff lovely and friendly, any problems sorted promptly. Food in restaurant nice choice of mainly greek dishes. Typically for buffet meals in greek hotels food tends not to be as hot, although it is not a problem has there is a microwave oven on a table, a few seconds in this and food is lovely and hot. If you compare the price you pay for the hotel compared with staying bed and breakfast in Dassia and how much it now costs to eat in restaurants and the price of drink. It is value for money

This family run hotel is situated on the main road in Dassia Corfu,it's a fairly small 3 star hotel with only 3 floors,we were there for 10 days on a fully inclusive stay,there is a really nice pool area with lots of sun beds and a bar area next to it under cover which stayed open till after 11 pm,there is local entertainment 3 times a week, bedrooms are fairly basic but are very clean and towels are changed daily, the food was fairly plain but there was plenty of it,all on a self service system and always a full English breakfast on offer every day,the outstanding part of this hotel was the friendliness of the staff especially the 24 hour reception nothing was too much trouble

We loved our stay at Amalia. We booked as a budget holiday, so some of the issues that have impacted others didn’t particularly concern us. Our room was simple and basic but we didn’t intend to spend a lot of time in our room. The bed was comfortable and the cleaners came in every day. Overall the hotel was clean and tidy. Some minor repairs in places would have improved things but it was the end of the season when we visited, so possibly these things would be attended to. The food was fairly basic. There was little variety for us as vegetarians but what we did eat was tasty. The big bonus was the staff, they were amazing!! Warm, friendly and very hardworking. Ria at the bar always greeted everyone with a smile, which we really appreciated. Nikos at the snack bar was lovely. The manager was always about and we found him to be quirky, especially his fondness of throwing paper towels into the dance floor during music evenings. We later discovered this to be a modern tradition replacing the smashing of plates during celebrations as it was cheaper and not a health and safety nightmare! We enjoyed the entertainment especially the guest appearance of the young waiter playing keyboard which was beautiful. We enjoyed exploring the local area. The main road was busy but we took paths off and discovered different beaches and bays all of which had a beautiful backdrop of mountains and a turquoise sea. The neighbouring seaside village Ipsos was full of bars and shops and worth a visit. We walked there and back but the bus service was frequent for those less able. You could travel easily to Corfu town by bus in around 25 minutes. There were various places to travel further afield by boat arranged by the hotel or other organisations in Dassia. You could hire a car, quad or motorbike if you wanted to further explore Corfu island. In short, it was our experience that there was plenty to do. We are aware that there were parts of Dassia that were run down but speaking to the locals we learnt of the impact of covid, price hikes and all inclusive packages on the local economy and how many holiday makers do not travel further afield than their hotels. For our part we did try to venture out and support local businesses and found staff very welcoming at the bars and restaurants. ….we would encourage others to do the same. We tried to use Greek for simple greetings and phrases and our attempts were well received and at times opened further conversation about the Greek culture which we welcomed as this is what we hoped to experience. Overall a great experience. Thank you hotel Amalia. 🙏😌
