This is our 3rd visit to Kefalonia and staying at Ammes hotel. We absolutely love it here. The hotel is lovley. Reception gives a great welcome. Pool area very spacious and the pool bar is brilliant. Izabella works extremely hard at the pool bar to serve her delicious food the pizza and baguettes are amazing. George at the pool bar is very welcoming, they are both lovley and we call them our friends. The restaurant Omilos next door is run by family and serves the most delicious food and again we call them our friends we eat there every evening a day watch the amazing sun sets. The location is on the sea front with fantastic sea views and sunsets. It is very quiet and peaceful so is great for a relaxing break. We have booked for next year to return twice!

Very welcoming Family run apartment hotel in Ammes resort just a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport but that will cost you €20! Complex is mostly quiet and was full of repeat silver surfers during our stay 8-19/09, but the planes land and takeoff directly overhead and the noise and proximity may be a problem for some people. There is a pool bar run by son George and the Milos restaurant run by son Fondas and a continental breakfast is available for €10pp. I think because of these on-site facilities although each studio has a small kitchen it’s very poorly equipped and you will struggle to make a meal.. There is no toaster or microwave and no cooking utensils such as wooden spoons or fish/egg slice, just 3 spoons/forks/knives/glasses etc. Two saucepans and frying pan yes, but everything eg work surface/table was very small and no light above the very old metal kitchen unit. The tv has Netflix etc but you of course need a subscription so just Greek tv channels! Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and we’d two single beds. A hairdryer, iron & board were provided, AirCon for an extra charge! A good daily maid service, beds made, bins emptied & floor mopped, sheets & towels changed weekly. Wi-Fi was poor and we did have two occasions when there was no hot water but this was quickly rectified. Walls were a bit thin so heard our neighbours quite clearly, particularly their tv, recommend you ask for an upstairs apartment to avoid similar noise from above! The bar service was very good and we found the food in Milos enjoyable but recommended to book a table as always busy, so maybe walk next door to Koutoupas which was also good and less crowded. The nearest shop was about 800 metres from the complex, quite pricey and no fresh/frozen meat or fish. There is a Gyros restaurant which doesn’t open until 18.30 but says delivery is available but couldn’t see a phone number! The sea was very rough during our stay and impossible to use the small beach. A local bus does a circular route to nearest town, €2pp and we did manage to find a very typical Greek restaurant there (colourful seats & Tables) on LHS about 100 metres past the ferry port and bus stop. To summarise, very friendly family run hotel but studio units need some serious updating and more modern equipment! Would we return, yes probably as a very friendly hosts and a well kept complex, we didn’t need to cook but be mindful of the lack of cooking facilities if you do!

“Short B&B beak”

Just back from a 6 night b&b break. As most of the other reviews say the people are very nice and friendly. The rooms are basic but spacious. Bed are not to bad with extra pillows if needed. Cleaned every day and bed sheets changed once during our stay. Showers are not good as water goes everywhere… more

Just back from a 6 night b&b break. As most of the other reviews say the people are very nice and friendly. The rooms are basic but spacious. Bed are not to bad with extra pillows if needed. Cleaned every day and bed sheets changed once during our stay. Showers are not good as water goes everywhere so always mopping up the floor. Very quiet area so a bus trip to argostoli is a must but there are local restaurants that have good food. Don't bother with the breakfast as it's very small and limited. Pool area nice and plenty of sunbeds. The mosquitoes were really bad we got eaten alive as did many other people so take repellents. We had room 111 with see view very nice.
