Just home from 10 days staying here and we loved it. The hotel try their best to ensure everyone gets their room on arrival, we arrived at midday expecting to have to wait till 3 for check in but were shown to our room straight away. The room was spacious with lovely Mountain View’s, plenty of storage and decent air con, even a quiet setting for night time. Bathroom was adequate with a decent hairdryer, good shower and shaving/make up mirror. House keepers are lovely, room cleaned daily, towels changed every 2/3 days. Pool towels are excellent quality and can be changed for fresh for 5 euros for 2. Lots of sunbeds and the pool is amazing. Grounds are pretty and well maintained. The pool bar staff are brilliant, special shout out to Banos and Sophia but all the staff work hard and make you welcome. Pool bar snacks are great, a good selection not expensive and drinks are excellent with an evening happy hour. Breakfast has a good selection and staff keep food topped up and tables fresh, my only tip would be the tea coffee area maybe needs to be moved to a different spot, it can get congested. On departure day we paid 40 euros to take a check out shower room which was spot on, private to us, a shower, sofa and locker to keep until we were collected at 5pm, perfect. It’s not very often we return anywhere but we would return to the magnolia tomorrow. The hotel is spotless and the staff are brilliant and extremely helpful, a very well run lovely hotel.

“Amazing hotel.”

Perfectly placed for a short walk to the beach and all the lovely restaurants. Also there’s a mini market at the top of the road for any necessities. Perfectly placed for a short walk to the beach and all the lovely restaurants. Also there’s a mini market at the top of the road for any necessities. Very peaceful quiet location with lovely views of the mountains and surrounding fields complete with goats and cockerel. Hotel is super clean, has gorgeous well kept gardens, has a fab bar providing lunch and snacks, plenty of sunbeds and super attentive staff. Rooms are spacious , clean, quiet, have a lovely bathroom, great towels and coffee and tea making facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and were sad to leave.

“Superb choice.”

Spent a week here at beginning of September, what a unique place. Everyone so friendly and helpful, always big smiles. Great room, comfortable and large bed, everything you need, well cleaned and maintained. Took me a while to work out the shower. The view of the "mountains" was superb from balcony… more

Spent a week here at beginning of September, what a unique place. Everyone so friendly and helpful, always big smiles. Great room, comfortable and large bed, everything you need, well cleaned and maintained. Took me a while to work out the shower. The view of the "mountains" was superb from balcony. Excellent breakfast, not a great choice but what was there was great. Friendly bar that was great value. Hotel is 15 minutes walk to the Beach at Kaletois, nice walks close to hotel, recommend a walk to St Barbara's beach and Dreamcatcher bar/restuarant. Mini-mart close by.

“A Peaceful & Relaxing Holiday at the Magnolia Resort Hotel.”

We stayed at the Magnolia Resort Hotel from the 22nd August to 5th September 2024. We had a standard room with a garden view. On arrival we were greeted by reception and once the formalities were completed ( passports/ tourist tax etc) we were shown to our room and told about the room and how the safety deposit box worked. There was two small bottles of water in the fridge which we had replaced the following week during our two week stay. Tea and coffee for the room was replaced when used. Safety deposit box and air conditioning was included ( no extra charge). Storage for clothes was limited and only 8 hangers between the two of us, so multiple garments on each hanger! Hairdryer included. In bathroom but was not powerful enough for my wife who has long hair! Room and complex was spotless. Breakfast was plentiful and there was always something to eat. Only downside was the coffee… luckily we had read previous reviews, so we took our own coffee sachets ( hot water on tap at breakfast). Snacks served at the pool bar from 1pm until 4pm, prices were reasonable… the Rose Bud Restaurant was closed for evening meals and was mainly used for breakfast! Small mimi-market nearby and Persia’s Tavern Restaurant a few minutes walk away. Venture a few more minutes and you’ll find a bakery and another restaurant (Jerry’s). The 15 minute walk to Katelios centre was hard work in the August sun, but we soon got used to it, although the return walk always seemed longer due to the additional food and drink we were carrying! We recommend Cozy restaurant, Maria’s and Tsobo’s Garden Grill ( although no sea view as it was in the back street away from the front… and of course Persa’s restaurant ( closest to the hotel) . House wine in all were drinkable although rose and white were better than the reds! Examples of hotel snack prices at the hotel (2024) … Greek Salad 5 euros, Hummus Dip with flatbread 5 euros, Club Sandwich 10 euros, French fries 5 euros, large beer4. 5 euros. Happy hour at the hotel is between 6:30pm and 8:30pm ( Happy Hour list on bar showing included drinks and prices… two cocktails each evening at 6 euros each). Ice cream from the bar freezer was 4:20 euros, which I thought was expensive, for what they were). Apart from the lack of storage space in the room and poor hairdryer, the only other negative would be the issues with the pool maintenance ( broken light fitting on side of pool throughout out two weeks and one of the pool steps was closed twice” out of order” during our stay! Overall it was a wonderful relaxing peaceful holiday and I would definitely recommend. It was a nice touch that on handing our key card and towels back to reception, we were given two Kefalonia coasters… not had that before! I look forward to returning again in the future.
