A great hotel for a relaxing, quiet vacation. The sea is right there, and a good-sized pool. There are ample sunbeds and parasols. The main town, Argostoli, is walkable easily (40 minutes on the flat) and there are walks among the trees - hiking paths - with great sea views. In the other direction to Lassi the walk is longer and hillier. I didn’t do it (Lassi looked a bit touristy, viewed from a taxi from the airport), but I heard someone asking about it - the hotel owner said she was driving there shortly and offered her a lift. How kind! The airport is a 15 minute taxi ride away. When I left I was through to airside 30 minutes after getting into the taxi at the hotel. Breakfast options are varied - with delicious croissants whose aroma whets the appetite well before service starts at 8.30. As lots of others have said, it’s a family-run hotel and the owners are keen that guests have everything they need. There are no kettles in the rooms, but I was told you can ask for one if you want one (similarly hair dryers). Rooms are basic but fine. There are a couple of restaurants just down the road - and I REALLY recommend the one next to the Argostoli campsite entrance (it’s run by them) - the Fanari. Much better than the one next to it. Good food, great service and gratis treats for diners as well as the small things that really make a difference - bread and tapenade, bottled water with coffee, oil and vinegar on the table, at no charge . Plus the sea view of course. The hotel’s breakfast coffee leaves something to be desired, so a double cappuccino at the Fanari was a necessity for me. Or choose from the many tea options that the hotel provides, and hope the water is hot enough (I like it really hot!). I had a ground floor side room, with balcony. It was absolutely fine, but as others suggest, next time I will see if an upstairs sea view one is available. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I stayed here between 4th and 11th September 2024 on a bed and breakfast basis. My friend and I each had a double room for single occupancy. My room was a little dated but was clean and had everything I needed. The aircon was good, and I had a fridge and a safe at no extra cost. My room was on the first floor and I had a pleasant sea view from the balcony. We loved the quiet location. The only noise at night that we experienced was on the Saturday when a wedding reception was held in a nearby function room. Otherwise, it was very peaceful. The reception area was very comfortable and clean, as was the breakfast area. Plenty of choice available to eat, both hot and cold. We loved the seawater pool. Very clean and never crowded, with a small bar alongside. Turning right from the hotel, a few minutes walk takes you to two laid back tavernas right next to each other, Fanari and Didimakia. We tried both and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Another 15 minutes walk takes you to a slightly more upmarket restaurant, Vinaries. We had a fabulous meal with wine there and it was very reasonably priced. A walk from the hotel into Argostoli was 25 minutes on the flat coastal road. We walked there and back most days, but if you don't want to walk, a cab costs 8 euros. Turning left out of the hotel, we walked into Lassi. This took 50 minutes and was mostly on the flat with a few inclines, but nothing too strenuous. The cab back cost 10 euros. There are a couple of small coves just a few minutes walk from the hotel if you want to go into the sea. The sea was beautifully clean and clear. We really enjoyed our stay at the Galaxy Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. I thought the holiday was great value for money and my only regret is that I didn't book for longer than one week.

Just got back from 10 nights here. As other reviews say, it's in need of a revamp. Our room had a fridge and a kettle. OK no hairdryer but I knew that before we went so I just took my own. Although basic, the rooms were adequate. The bed was really comfy. And then we walked onto the balcony and got hit with the views! We were facing the sea and had a spectacular view all the way around. The breakfast had a decent choice and if you got there before it opened, they would still let us in. The pool was lovely and refreshing. Some days there was just the two of us there. The sunbeds could do with some cushions as they were a little uncomfortable. The part we loved was how quiet it was. The location was perfect for us as we like walking. The walk into Argastoli was so scenic and took around 40 minutes to the center. Right opposite the hotel was a couple of gorgeous coves. I can't not mention grumpy Bella the hotel dog. She's gorgeous but doesn't like to be petted by strangers! She loved chasing cars down the drive and barking at them (she did keep waking us up a couple of nights/early mornings!) Overall our experience was very good at Galaxy hotel. The staff were excellent and for what you pay it's definitely value for money.

“Beautiful views”

The friendliest Hotel we've ever stayed. Absolutely amazing views. The staff are 2nd to none and can't do enough for you. The boss man petros is a big friendly bear of a man and Bella The dog is a permanent fixture. Great jollybobs thanks guys.
