On reviewing the other TripAdvisor reviews I was skeptical to book San Pedro. However we went for it as we needed a car parking space, and I'm so glad we did. First the staff. They are just wonderful. Each and every one of them were so attentive and willing to assist. The lady with curly hair at reception is fabulous. She was always friendly and willing to assist above the needs. The hotel. The hotel is a cross between a hacienda and a castle! It is a small hotel across three floors. The main lobby / reception area for me was stunning. Granted it's not 100% modern with new carpet, but I enjoyed this. It has a beautiful old school stone stair case, with high ceilings, a massive old style fire place, piano and lots of couches spaced a good distance apart to allow you to chill out with some wine and play a board game! There is a cute bar with a free pool table. I loved the old style charm of the place. To access the pool you leave the main lobby and walk to a terrace that over looks the pool and small pool/possible jacuzzi! The pool area has a number of deck chairs with constant sun. A few can be in the shade. The pool is large for French standards! We arrived late Sept and the pool was freezing. Once in, it both refreshed you and woke you up! It's quite cold. Off the pool area is the restaurant. This is a lovely little restaurant but a tad cluttered. But that didn't bother us as it was cluttered to the back - only reason for having extra furnishings was the terrace for dining was closed - again, due to the time of year. We had a lovely dinner there, nothing outrageously special, but nice all the same - zero complaints. The choice was a €25 menu (starter & main / main & desert) or €29 (all three courses). The waiter was wonderful, charming lovely sort of man. All diners seemed happy and all plates were emptied! The room; again previous reviews on TripAdvisor had me worried. Our room was perfect. It was clean (including under the bed!!), spacious, bright and airy. The sheets were a great hotel quality (I could have stayed in bed for days!), the mattress is neither soft nor hard, it's a great combination and the bed itself is huge for two people. There was plenty of storage space (we had two suitcases) and a little safe. The bathroom was fine! Again French standards. It was a bath with a hand held shower. The addition of a shower holder would be beneficial. In room; there's a tv and hairdryer. Unfortunately no coffee facilities or mini bar to cool drinks. But that didn't hamper my thoughts of this hotel. We stayed for two nights and because it was quite given the time of year I could have stayed another two easily. Fabulous hotel if you want to chill out, be away from the hustle and bustle, and are not a fan of large over populated like hotels - that are just "busy". Great stay. Will be back definitely. Note; as mentioned it is a small hotel. Having read other reviews that mentioned e.g.; pool bar was closed / slow at service - for me this is understandable. It's like a family run type hotel, so it's not serviced by 100's of staff. The bar (if you are too lazy like previous reviewers) is about a one minute walk away. It's not a five star hotel where staff tend to your every "demanding" need.

“excellent”

we have just had a 2 week holiday and we cannot find fault with anything at all. the hotel, the pool, the food all were brilliant, the staff could not have been better, we will be returning hopefully very soon.

we booked for three nights after visiting Cannes on half board. arrived at 12.30 no room avaialble until 3 as advertised but were offered the pool and gardens it was very hot so we chose to go to into St Raphael for lunch after laeving the big cases at resception. . It was a big change of room after the Cannes one Tiny room it seemed, no fridge of any kind so no cold drinks and no balcony or terrace in the cheaper rooms . The beds were small but comfortable and plenty of cupboard space but single file doing anything in the bed room. The bathroom was a good big size with a bath and a small shower stall as well much appreciated. It was when we saw people able to look in from an outdoor staircase a few feet away we felt unhappy and the next day I did tell them the vis a vis as the call it in France was not good for us .the lady explained it was a special occasion that evening and staff had used it from the kitchen and others too as far as we could seewould not be happening again as she would lock the door this did not please quite a few people by the banging on it we heard over the next two days. It turned out this was the fire door from the passage at the side of our room and the breakfast kitchen . it seemed it was usually propped open for a breeze and people coming in and out from the car park as a short cut. I was astonished and did tell the receptionist the last morning that this us illegal as is the locking of it. n so no number 6 for us please. the restaurant was very good excellent staff and meals I will leave a separate report
