The Splendid is well situated for easy walking to the tram, train and the Promenade. We chose a Premium room and we're happy with the facilities, clean and with plenty of hot water. Great breakfast in the rooftop restaurant. With pool and bar on the same level (it gets busy) and views across the city from the very top terrace. There's a spa and gym but we didn't use these as there is so much to do and see. Nice is of course a big city with high density population and traffic. So be prepared for noise well into the early hours. Maybe take ear plugs?

Second visit with friend- first room on first floor totally unacceptable. Major refurb needed. Second room tiny and with a double bed, third room better but still very dated. Rooftop pool and bar nice but very busy. Dinner at hotel one night- did not expect a piece of breadcrumbed frozen fish in Nice! Seems like hotel more interested in large group visitors

Booked an easyjet holiday, arrived late on Tuesday evening - the holiday didn’t get off to the best start as reception insisted we were room only, despite my showing them the confirmation. It couldn’t be sorted that night so I was told to come back at 8 am to speak to manager. We then headed to the rooftop bar - we got there at 22.55 to be told no more food from the kitchen. Only managed to order 1 drink. The bar staff were really nice, and did manage to rustle up a charcuterie board. Patrick was a star! So 8am the next day I went to reception to sort the breakfast, I had to wait to speak to the manager, so decided to call easyJet. Within minutes of ending my call we were told we had breakfast! I wouldn’t make a big thing of this normally- however, I spoke to another guest who said that they had exactly the same experience and I can’t help thinking that this is a ploy. The rooms - we were a party of four, my two friends had a room on 3rd floor, lovely and modern. My room was on the 1st floor and very old fashioned. Massive spiders webs In The corner of the rooms. We used the spa- definitely recommend- lovely massage and experience but you need to book. Pool is small but adequate. It gets very busy and sunbeds are limited. Hotel is very well located for getting around in Nice.

The staff were very friendly and professional. We were in a group of 27 and traveling with my mother. She had her own room and my husband and I had a double. Room assignments made no sense and had nothing to do with price. Since the tour group booked everything, I have no idea what the specific arrangements were, but I know in our end what we paid and the fees were per person, meaning we paid more than my mother did because there were two of us. When we got to our rooms, imagine our surprise when my diminutive mother had a king bed (2 twins together) and a very large room, and we had a double bed (smaller than a queen) for my 6’2” husband and myself in a significantly smaller room. It made no sense at all. The restaurant was lovely and food was very good. Again, the staff were delightful and we really enjoyed our meal. All in all the hotel seems very nice, but the room assignments need to be more transparent. You can’t charge two people more and then put them in a smaller room.
