Have stayed here many times. Perfect location, short walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach. I think the carpets could be refreshed, but does not bother us. Front desk is very helpful and they speak English. This is the best deal in the city for a room with a terrace, my favoriteroom type. It does not have a beach view, city view only. Love the hotel, has charm. There are stationery bikes on the 6th floor terrace for fitness. They used to have yoga classes up there too, but maybe only during high season. They put blankets out on the rooms with terraces, when it is a cooler time of the year.

“Definitly a place to stay in Nice”

We stayed here for five night and enjoyed it very much. The room was modern with comfortable bed and nice pillows, and had all the amenities I look for: fridge, coffemaker, kettle for water and safe. (I would have liked to have a few more english speaking channels on the TV). The bathroom was clean… more

We stayed here for five night and enjoyed it very much. The room was modern with comfortable bed and nice pillows, and had all the amenities I look for: fridge, coffemaker, kettle for water and safe. (I would have liked to have a few more english speaking channels on the TV). The bathroom was clean, and modern. There was a rainforest shower, which I don't like very much because the pressure gets a bit low - but not a big problem. The location is wonderful - very short walk from the tram to the airport, and at the same time very close to town center. The breakfast was very good as well

The Mercure Nice Centre Grimaldi offers an unbeatable location for exploring the heart of Nice. The nearest tram stop, Jean Médecin, is just a short walk away, providing direct service to the airport for only €1.70 per ride. Surrounding the hotel is a delightful selection of restaurants, coffee shops, and ice cream parlors, many offering breakfast deals if you'd rather skip the hotel price. For added convenience, there’s a supermarket next door, and the Promenade des Anglais is just a short stroll away. Without a doubt, the location is one of the hotel’s standout features. The hotel itself is housed in a stunning, architecturally charming building that combines historic character with modern updates. The lobby and reception area have been tastefully renovated, offering comfortable seating areas perfect for relaxing with friends or enjoying a drink from the bar. Breakfast is served in this versatile space, which adds to its appeal. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and as a nice touch, I was upgraded to a privilege room due to my Accor status. The 'rooms', however, were a mixed experience. Initially, I had to switch rooms twice. The first room featured two twin beds pushed together to form a double—a common annoyance for solo travelers, as it leaves a noticeable crevice in the middle. The mattress was also unusually firm for Accor standards. The second room, an accessible room, had an unpleasant odor and a setup that, while functional for guests with mobility needs, detracted from the room's overall aesthetics. The wet-room-style bathroom may not appeal to those unfamiliar with this design. The third room proved satisfactory. It featured a very large, comfortable bed with a variety of pillows to suit different preferences, along with a seat, table, large-screen TV (though lacking English channels), a mini fridge, and a Nespresso machine. However, as with the other rooms, signs of wear were apparent, with dated décor that clashed with the sleek, modern aesthetic of the lobby. The quirky carnival/clown theme in the décor, while memorable, felt a bit out of place and added to the sense of inconsistency. Full credit to the amazing receptionist who was more than flexible and understanding of my pickiness. In summary, the Mercure Nice Centre Grimaldi is an excellent base for exploring Nice, thanks to its central location and architectural charm. However, while the public areas are beautifully modernized, the guest rooms could benefit from significant updates to match the standard of the rest of the hotel. If you prioritize convenience and character over contemporary luxury, this hotel remains a solid choice for your stay in Nice.

I liked this place. Stayed here for 3 additional days after leaving a land-based bus tour. Small comfy room with shutter type windows. Has a bath/shower combo. Even a real closet. Not just hooks on the wall. Mini fridge and coffee maker, too. Housekeeping came daily and was efficient with replacement towels. Though you might want to bring your favorite bar soap and shampoo. Buffet breakfast is extra to the room. Nice lobby area and top floor views. Many restaurants just a street down toward the Promenade. Also near Tram 1 and not far from Tram 2 to airport and boat harbor.
