Hotel Aston La Scala

“Great location near Old town”

Stayed for 3 nights taking 3 rooms. Staff were superb and friendly. Rooms were clean and tidy. Location is excellent with the Tram stop just across the road. Easy to walk into the Old Town. Will definately be staying here again.

Service was excellent, location was perfect, we think old town is best, rooftop bar was nice to end the evening with a great view, (only one drink as were a bit pricey + tax,) Breakfast had a great selection, fresh and plentiful, we had a comphy room very clean but view of back buildings so will upgrade to front view next time, we will definitely be back ASAP

“Tired rooms and average at best food”

Business trip where good nights sleep are needed. Business trip where good nights sleep are needed. The room was very tired - wardrobe didn’t close properly, shutters and knobs broken, trimming on bed torn and clearly unloved, lumpy mattess and uncomfortable pillows. Lights in bathroom flickered, with ine bulb not working. AC was turned off as it was out of season. No vanity provisions or complimentary slippers were available. Food in general was substandard in my opinion and very small portions. Having said that, staff were friendly, room was clean, and location was perfect.

Upon arrival, we were given a very small, outdated room with a rough overall appearance. The walls were so thin that we could hear everything from the neighboring room. It was nothing like what was described during booking. I had to pay an additional €180 to upgrade to another room, which had a nicer view and a better look but was still poorly maintained. The bathroom door in the upgraded room was faulty, and my daughter even got stuck inside at one point! Daily housekeeping was below standard—rooms were not cleaned properly, and tea and coffee were not provided. We had to take them from the breakfast area. Breakfast itself was mediocre at best. For the price of the stay, I expected much more. Don’t expect fresh fruits or bread; the bread was stale, the fruits were canned, and there were very few healthy options. The ham, cheese, and salmon provided were the cheapest quality. On a positive note, the staff members were polite and friendly, and the location was excellent—very central and convenient. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return to this hotel and would recommend others to thoroughly research before booking. Lastly, we felt unwell while staying in the room. We had to keep the windows open and the fan off to feel comfortable. Strangely, we felt much better when outside the hotel, which suggests something in the room wasn’t right.
