Similar to many of the other reviews I agree that the location is superb. Any restaurants we checked out were all 3 to 6 minutes away. Shops are on the door step as is public transport. We took tram line A from the airport to Rue Saint Catherine and back again after our stay… no problem. We walked to the nearby tourist office and caught the 304 bus to St Emilion. If you take the train it is 20 mins walk into St Emilion. Room was spotless, bed was large and so comfortable. Bathroom had a rainfall shower which helped revive us after pounding the streets. I would stay here again. Staff were helpful and friendly.

“Terrible check in”

So, good stuff first. Hotel rooms look modern; it is well located; all bath related worked fine, view was also nice. Now, and I need to say this, because it was quite an issue for me. I do understand most hotels in Europe check in at 3PM, but sometimes, if your train or your plane takes you there earlier, hotels may offer the room when you get there, or may tell you "come at 11AM, that we may have something", as an example. When I got there, the lady host said room was ready (I really appreciated it), she proceeded with the check in, sent me to the room. I took the elevator and was looking for the room number to get in, when she comes running out of breath from the stairs, catching me before I got to the room. It seemed the person in THAT room had not checked out yet, so I probably could have entered a room with someone inside. So, she took me down again to the reception area. After that TERRIBLE error, she said now, they had no room ready. I said "are you sure?". You would expect they would offer you a better room, or upgrade you, in the face of such an error committed. Well, that did not happen. She said there were no rooms available for my "category", and I had to come back at 3PM (I think it was about 12PM). Man, you ladies have no idea how to run a hotel. That was plainly inexperienced from their part. Luckily, the guy that was there really early when I checked out, was very nice. But this could not compensate for the terrible error that was never repaired. Another thing. As the small bed is placed next to a wall, I banged my nose twice against it while sleeping, when I turned (I am used to a big bed). So, apologies, but I don't recommend this to anyone. You guys need to learn a lot about hosting skills.

I cannot give this hotel a five star review for one reason, which I will get to. Firstly as we were traveling with friends that included a wheelchair this is one of the few in the area that offer that access. The hotel reception and public areas are smart and well-kempt, the staff are friendly and professional. Our room was booked as a double, and I found the bed on the small side, but that was an error on our part for not booking the queen room, anyway it was clean & tidy. The facilities in the room, Tea, coffee and water daily free of charge was nice, and there was an ironing board available if wished. My only grip is the air conditioning, on our arrival the room was very warm I opened the window and that cooled it down, but at night there was some street noise. I tuned on the air con but all it did was buzz. I mentioned this to the staff member the next day and was told that some guests had complained of being cold so they had switched on the heating, and as the system is not room specific, all rooms had heating. I was advised to open a window. I did not find this helpful TBH but the first few days were cool so we slept with the wind open. I did, eventually, get them to switch on the air con, for one night only, on our last night it was once again switched to heating. We slept with the wind open, it was hot and muggy and we now have multiple mosquito bites on our bodies. Of the 7 nights we spent there only one was a good nights rest for us.
