“Fantastic hotel and view”

Really nice hotel, and we recommend Residence which has great apartments and sea view. Pool and sunbeds are also nice and towels are included, and can be changed every 4th day. Cleaning in also every 4th day. Hotel is very clean and great service.

I’m not usually a fan of chain hotels but this was one was welcome after using some more complex hotels elsewhere in Corsica and Sardinia. There are no steps or changing levels, the lift works well and the stairs have handrails. The room was a comfortable size with a good bathroom and a workbench wide enough for two laptops. There were plenty of power outlets and a fridge and a safe. I had no problems with the wi-fi. The breakfast was well provided with choice. My wife and I ate dinner in the dining room but were disappointed. Very pricey for what you get. The hotel staff were helpful. The hotel is somewhat out of town – probably too far for some folk to walk. I would recommend it for people with mobility issues though I personally do not use a wheelchair, only a walking stick.

Reception: We arrived slightly earlier than checkin time, and our room was not ready, after moving the car from the checkin parking area, i returned to find the room “Ready”. The lady on reception must have been learning as she did not advise us of the upgrade, bed size change or potential noise in the area. Room / facilities: Room number 315 is on the 3rd floor and is clean with a bay water view. Self control air conditioning with a window that opens. The room has a queen bed and uncomfortable,(we booked king bed room only), dirty looking sofa bed, safe, desk, flat screen TV, coffee maker, fridge, hanging and shelving area, shower only bathroom. The beds are comfortable and as we sleep with the window open at night (the room gets stuffy without air conditioning on) we heard celebrations until 1.00 am, and traffic noise. Each floor has a water cooler to fill those bottles. After going into the old town for the day and returning to the room, we started to question the bed size, to that of our booking. I later called reception to confirm the room we were in, was a queen bed, and not the king bed we booked. The man on duty confirmed the queen bed size then indicated we were upgraded. He arranged to have a manager to call the next day to discuss. We were in our room until 10.30am the next morning and no such call arrived. Upon our return to the hotel later that evening, we chatting to the same reception man (that was called the previous night) we discussed the music noise at night and street car noise, is why we called to discuss the room allocation. We also mentioned the Manager had not called us. We checked out as per our booking. It was only late the following day, after we departed Ajaccio and arrival to our next destination, that the manager called to discuss our concerns. He did little to address our concerns, least of all the whole call was far too late for any rectification. He kept referring to the construction noise during the day, which i honestly, did not even hear at all. So much for their sign in the reception desk, “we are hear to make things right”. Parking: is available at no cost. There are 2 enclosed secure parking areas and an open air parking area. Total parking available is around 50 vehicles. There are also multiple electric car charging stations in the secure parking areas. Wifi: Complementary and good speed, validation and email required. Breakfast: Available for additional cost, but not utilised on this stay. Conclusion: Nice hotel in a fair area, if you’re keen to walk into town. Comfortable room if the night street noise aspect is removed. Letdowns: Night street noise. Location / Nearby: Spar supermarket, petrol station, Ajaccio town is an easy 20 minute walk around the bay (on flat ground) an is very scenic. Recommendations: Ask for a non street facing room, for peace and quiet at night. Getting to hotel: If arriving by car, best use GPS
