“Fantastic stay, again ”
This is our fourth visit to these hotels (second Christmas here in the 18+, once in the Premium Seagate and once in the water park). Everything about this is perfect. This is our fourth visit to these hotels (second Christmas here in the 18+, once in the Premium Seagate and once in the water park). Everything about this is perfect. Brilliant staff, beautiful gardens and our room on this visit is huge and lovely and bright. Food is excellent and the drinks are real international quality. We love all the la carte restaurants that have great service and lovely staff. We've been to Sharm/Hurghada over 30 times and Rixos, in our opinion, is a favourite. Yes, you can find cheaper hotels but you won't find this standard in them.

“Another Great Stay”

“Not bad, but room for improvement”

We really enjoyed our stay at Rixos Sharm El Sheikh! The resort itself is always beautifully decorated, well-maintained and clean, particularly the Christmas decorations that are up at the moment. Unfortunately we did have to repeatedly request that four robes, towels etc. be provided for a family of four, as we were regularly given three instead- but the room itself was lovely. There’s a great range of bars and lounges dotted around, and food is available at multiple sittings throughout the day at the main buffet (The Palm). We also found the online booking system for the a-la-carte restaurants to be really convenient, and guest relations were fantastic whenever we needed to rearrange these reservations. The buffet itself has lots of variety, particularly at the dinner service- frequently, we found the buffet to be better than the a-la-carte restaurants themselves. Our main concern at the buffet was poor labelling and communication. On two occasions in our seven-day stay at the resort, beef dishes were mistakenly labelled as lamb (a big problem for those of us who don’t eat beef for religious reasons). Both occasions were near misses, as we fortunately checked with staff before eating the food- and though we accept mistakes do happen, they should not be repeated this often, with no steps apparently taken the first time in order to prevent the second occurrence. At our request, the misprinted label was removed in the second incident, so others don’t repeat our situation; this (wrong) label was again placed next to the dish only minutes later. Mistakes are only human, but intentionally leaving a wrong food label beside a dish after guests have brought it to staff attention is simply wrong and should not have happened. In the same way that allergy concerns are respected and accounted for, we expect Rixos to account for our dietary needs by valuing the trust we place in them. Despite this, certain members of staff working in the buffet were excellent- one in particular who we saw several times at breakfast and lunch (can’t quite remember his name!) was incredibly polite and personal, showing interest in our plans and always speaking to us nicely and with a smile. A lot of entertainment staff were also super helpful- special mention to Salma, who set up lovely decorations in our room when we happened to mention a recent birthday. This level of hospitality was a really pleasant surprise. The transport around the resort was also great- Aladdin and Romeo particularly went out of their way to make our experience as brilliant as possible. Hospitality in the Turkish, Japanese and Asian restaurants was also excellent- the service and the food at each of these places were remarkable and made them well worth the visit. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Italian and Indian restaurants. The service and food at each of these was poor (a generous description). Lack of communication and organisation, as well as food that didn’t even slightly resemble their intended cuisine, left us regretting our reservations and wishing we had just eaten at the buffet instead- would not recommend either of them. Food aside, we really enjoyed the daytime sports activities on offer, such as aqua fitness, and the opportunity to use the facilities at Rixos Seagate (particularly the spa). Overall, a great holiday and a great resort!
