Hello, and welcome to my informative review, of the wonderful Double Tree, sharks bay, Sharm el Sheik. Now I know it may be a bit long, but a short review in my eyes will not do the staff and hotel justice enough, but will guide you to all you need to know about the resort. So me( Andrew Spencer)and my wife Donna, are currently in resort as I type this review from room 8010, and have 2 days left to go of our 11 day holiday. Upon checking in, the magic had started already, greeted by the very cheerful and positive bell man Sameh Ahmed, and the reception, the request for our room emailed through was certainly up held and catered for, however, we was informed at reception that the said room in the requested block the had twin beds, and we was given the option of a king size bed, in another block, to which we took advantage of, good move by us 100% The hotel is split into 2 parts 1 being the beach side and 1 the mountain side. We are staying in the mountain side part of the hotel, which is on the money, as this is where there is 3 pools (central pool is heated, whilst the other 2 are not heated) with the pool furthest away from the main building is adults only. There are 2 pools bars mountain side, to which both have swim up bars , Waves and Splash bar, which operate the hours of 10.00am/18.00pm serving drinks , with snacks @both bars 13.00pm/16.00pm, Ice cream served @Splash bar also 13.00pm/16.00pm, over at the beach side of the hotel, the Kanzaman beach bar is open the same times as the above, but with snacks and ice cream available 15.30pm/17.30pm. There are 4 restaurant's in total, El Mattam (main buffet) and IL Rustico(A La Carte) both mountainside, with Open bistro, and Cala restaurant(beach side). Timings for these, you will find within the pictures posted on the review. There are 2 main bars mountainside, Olympic bar(family) and Q Club bar(adults only) which both operate the all inclusive option 10.00am/23.00pm, they do stay open afterwards, but local charges for drinks will be applied., Beachside, you have 1 pool bar and 2 pools, with the pool bar operating 10.00am/23.00pm. I do know that beach side is where the premium, Junior suite rooms are situated. Now, that we have got that part done, we come to our best part of the review.....The staff and level of service....WOW, AMAZING, OUTSTANDING, is all we can say, I have travelled around quite a bit in my time, and been to some damn fine hotels, Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc, so I know exceptional good service when I see it, and the hotel staff have certainly exceeded my expectations 100 fold. Rooms are cleaned and replenished daily with all amenities for your bathroom, and in room water and coffee, beds are very comfortable and air con on point. The onsite animation team, really do their best and work hard to go around and get everyone involved with various activities, so mentions to Avatar, DiDi, Simba, Elena, and Liza, well done guys. The hotel grounds and building are maintained to the highest standards, the lifeguards make sure you and your children are monitored at all times, they clean the pools and grounds around the pool area's each morning and evening, to which I find is just another plus point of the hotel. So we move on to the food, we mainly ate at the El Mattam for our meal times, and the food choices are very good , with a live cooking station in operation at all dining options, special mention to Heshem and his omelette cooking skills. Now this for me and Donna is where the holiday was made the best....the waiter service, out of this world, seriously. Every time we went to eat, be it at any meal time, our table was always prepared and waiting for us, before we had put food on our plate's, orange juice, latte for Donna, cappuccino for me, same for the lunchtime sitting, and dinner sitting, with the latter a couple of beers awaiting for us. There was a number of times that we had our table wonderfully decorated with flowers, which was such a nice touch(its the little things that make the best impact) nothing was to much, and drinks replenished without even leaving the table, the attentiveness received has seriously blown me away, and all this would not have been possible if it wasn't for the restaurant manager Gaber, and his hard working staff. I feel so strongly to give the most amazing mention to our waiter who attended to us from start to finish....Abd Elaziz Aly,... stand up and be recognised sir, this guy is the one that nailed this holiday for us, he is freeking amazing, everything he done was more than above and beyond, nothing was to much trouble and we thank you so sincerely for making our holiday so memorable, and I really do mean that, from the bottom of my heart, they say you get sad when having to leave your holiday and go back home, as a 48 year old man I know in 2 days time, I personally will be gutted and upset, having to leave and not see Abd Elaziz Aly anymore, we really have grown attached and formed a special bond with him, and if I could legally have him as my brother, I would do in a heart beat, but alas, thats is not an option, so to me, he is and will always be my spiritual Egyptian brother, and to the hotel management, I Implore you to give recognition immediately, and fast track his promotion as soon as possible, he is so deserving of this, thank you Abd Elaziz Aly, my Egyptian brother, you will always be with us in our hearts, where ever we are. A special mention to El Mattam supervisor/captain Ahmed Mohmed Shukran my brother. I suppose I should really wrap this review up, as I could go on for another 10 more pages, but I wont, please take a look at all the pictures uploaded, I have tried to document as much as possible, and be as informative as I could be, within a short space, if anyone reading this requires anymore information about the hotel and amenities, please do not hesitate and contact me, I will be more than happy to assist further. If I could leave this review with two tips and pointers for you, it would be this....guys and gals, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not be disrespectful, and just load your plate up with mountains of food, the serious amounts of food wasted by some nationality's was sickening, there is just no requirement to do so, fill your plate with a nice portion, and go back for more, should you still feel hungry, its the correct thing to do. The amount of food taken to the table, and wasted through pure greed, left me and my wife seething to teeth, and left me personally very angry and upset. And bear in mind, the average monthly salary for a waiter in a 4/5 star hotel is around LE 15000/17000 per month( around £250/£265 Sterling) so when you see how hard they work, although not compulsory, please tip as much as possible, a nice subtle handshake , with a bank note in between.....believe me when I say this, LE200 every other day, will be appreciated so much, and I guarantee, you will feel like a VIP, 100%. I hope this review is useful for you, and what ever nationality you are, please remember the staff are here to do a job and provide a service, NOT to be ABUSED and disrespected, even if in your culture politeness is not a common thing, please do not come here to the hotel, please DO NOT be rude, obnoxious, disrespectful to the staff, just because you are a paying guest, it does give you any right to act in this manor and allow you to think you are so above at the staff, trust me when I say, I had to walk out of the El Mattam on more than one occasion, due to anger, from the disgusting treatment and attitude towards the staff, JUST DO NOT DO IT, if you was in the same position, would you wish to be disrespected like that........I certainly do not think that you would. Thank you to everyone here at the Double tree by Hilton, you have made our holiday, an unforgettable one, as this was our 1st all inclusive holiday as a couple, and we will be looking at returning in the winter next year, Inshallah. “Summer time”

Good place with good people. Hotel is big with a green territory. Rooms are very nice. Food and drink are tasty. Reception are friendly and helpful. Animation team makes our days better. We enjoyed our time on the beach with wondering fishies.

“Vacation”

It was amazing vacation in wonderful hotel. Location is very good, rooms clean, food is tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful. Animation team was on fire, they organised interesting programmes during the day and parties at night. We will come back for sure.

Lovely hotel , great buffet food , all the staff were very attentive especially Ahmed Gaber mohmed bar tender..m.r.osma..in the bar, food quite varied and plenty of choice even for fussy eaters !! Rooms clean and tidy. In general great hotel for money . Will return again in the future !
