3rd visit. No complaints. Staff friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Food of a good standard and the 4 visits allowed to the a la cart restaurants serve food to an outstanding level. Dinner by the snack bar is also very good! Hotel is mainly a family based hotel with entertainment mainly tailored towards families. Adult entertainment is at a premium on an evening but would state the hotel is more of a relaxed nature towards the later hours. Amazing third visit and will be returning for a 4th time in March 2025. Had one issue with the aircon- sorted within 5 minutes of raising to staff. Outstanding service. Thank you to all the staff that are by far the standout feature for this hotel.

“Great”

Another fantastic stay at this hotel, this is are 12th visit and due to go again in November. All staff are friendly and welcoming this is why we keep returning. Another fantastic stay at this hotel, this is are 12th visit and due to go again in November. All staff are friendly and welcoming this is why we keep returning. We were in block 2 which was very clean and spacious overlooking one of the pools, plenty of choice in the main restaurant and good quality, only went to the American restaurant on this visit which was very good. Entertainment team very energetic and lots to do , for adults in the evening there is usually a singer on in the outside lobby bar, also has a sports bar and an adults only bar. Great time and counting down till we go again.

A game of two halves is usually used if football, but equally true here. The Holiday Village Coral Sea ( HV) was not quite the Marie Celeste, but this sprawling get away spot only tells you there are others here at meal times when you congregate to feed. With its labyrinth of meandering pathways, none of which were built by the Romans, that twist around immaculately manicured lawns, it’s a taste of heaven. Visitor numbers ebb and flow with arrivals and departures, but at times we felt we were the only ones there. It’s a great time of year to come if you want quiet and fussless bliss. We did. And it doesn’t disappoint. The beach is weird. Sharm ( as locals know it) is on a shelf that reaches out about half a mile before plunging off of a cliff edge into the Red Sea proper. Each hotel has a pontoon with swim stations, ours at its end that reached about half way. Next doors stretched all the way to the cliff edge and ran regular golf buggy shuttles to and fro. We could walk to ours - and daily did. Which highlights another of the hotels great aspects, its wildlife. Across its lawns we watched grey coated rooks chase a pair of falcons whilst smaller birds, is one of the species a crested woodpecker, fly here and there. On the shore are a pair of herons fishing and a kingfisher darted between the piers.Wonderful. As darkness falls birds are replaced with bats, swishing and swooping as they feed in the warm night air. In the sea is a whole new world. Coral beds dot the shelf between us and the cliff edge and each provides a home to a myriad of looks and colour. Marine life of all shapes and sizes are present, and they all carry on as normal whilst you gaze in wonder through your swimming mask. It’s an autumn paradise and no mistake. Staff add to that. More here than you can shake a stick at whether that’s service, entertaining or gardening staff. And they make for a special time. The service staff bend over backwards for you, tip or no tip (we did) and nothing is too much trouble. We got to know many well, including the slightly eccentric, Shakespeare loving Khaled, our beach waiter, and getting to know them led to reciprocated benefits. So why only three stars? Food and the main entertainment. You’d do well to remember Egyptian food is bland. I had the Vindaloo in restaurant Sari which was no hotter than a Korma, but it’s all tasty. I’ll bring my own Tabasco next time . The Bamboo restaurant was by far the best, ( yes, there was a little heat and spice in the food there) and the others fell according to your preferences behind it. For us the Greek Taverna came last. If I’m honest, and I am, it did all get a bit samey, something we’ve never had at an All Inclusive before, and we always go AI. Food was probably the reason we wouldn’t go back. But entertainment did not fair much better. During the day it was ok. The pool team worked hard. Beach music plays in its own looped ‘Groundhog day’ way. Strangely the music quiz in the adult bar is repeated each week ( as were other things elsewhere we found out). We thought the couple behind us had a really good musical knowledge - on hindsight, maybe they were just staying for two weeks? But the main show indoors was the tipping point, and thats not very good. HV has a great outside amphitheatre, never sat in it once. Hotels around us had music and lights filling the air by the beach whilst we heard dubious singing from within ‘Pharaoh’s Theatre’ and decided to play cards al fresco. A cellist kept us company which was good although she played the same music every time too, but overall it was a shame. Sharm must have a supply of acrobats, jugglers, dancers and the like. None came our way. We would definitely return to this area. It offers much. But the food and entertainment at HV let it down too much for us.
