We appreciate our stay here. We are fully satisfied with the choice od this hotel. Dining and bars - very good. Very nice lagoon pool. The room - very satisfying. Very clean and tidy. Staff and service - high quality. Every body of the staff was kind and smiled. Nobody showed expecting tips. We even had 2 options of pillows to choose (softer or harder). There were always free sun beds on the beach and by the lagoon pool. Reef by the hotel beach - very nice. In our opinion we missed shows and evening entertainment. A la carte restaurants not worth coming - other hotels offer sth better.

We went to this hotel as it was recommended by some familiy members before and we don't regret booking our stay in Palace Port Ghalib. Tip: If you plan to go there, I would recommend to check if you have the possibility to take a direct flight to the Marsa Alam airport, which is only ~10-15 minutes away from the hotel. It is a lot more convenient than the ~2h drive from Hurghada airport. Hotel: Beautiful, clean hotel complex consisting of 3 hotels. As a guest of "Palace" you can freely use the pools, restaurants and bars of the other two hotels. Although you clearly feel in some areas, that the hotel is not new you can always see the effort by the maintenance staff to fix and renovate the hotel. Some minor(!) negative points I would like to point out are the pools, which could use a renovation in some parts. For example the tiles in the pool of palace and the canal which is part of the "Oasis" or "Sands" hotel part. Our room was very spacious with a good view of the garden and parts of the bay. The room condition was overall good, but you can see the age of the furniture here and there. I would like to point out again that the negative points are minor ones and didn't really affect our stay negatively. Beach: The hotel is directly situated at the beach. It is not a typical beach as you mainly enter the water by a bridge / pier. At the end of the pier you are rewarded with a beautiful and well-preserved coral reef which spans over the entirety of the length of the hotel. In my view, the hotel takes good care to preserve the reef by marking "no-go" areas. I hope that this effort will be kept up (or will even be increased) as the good condition of the reef is clearly a major positive point for this hotel. On a side note: We went to "Abu Dabbab" bay for a few hours stay and were honestly disappointed by the wild life there after having the reef "in front of your doorstep" already the whole time. The beach itself is very clean and had enough comfortable sun beds during our stay. It is sometimes a bit windy, but each umbrella already comes with some kind of wind shelter. A beach bar is conveniantly located and serves all the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that are also being offered in the other hotel bars. Food / Drinks: The food, especially in the "Palace", is really good and "compatible" with European stomachs ;-) (we never had any problem!). The "Palace" has two buffet-style restaurants: "Alfredo's" and "The Olive". The first one serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The second one serves lunch, dinner and a late-night buffet. There are also a-la-carte offerings in the other parts of the hotel complex. You will never be hungry ;-). Starting from breakfast, there's a huge variety of bread, eggs, vegetables, fruits, cereal, yogurt and so on. There are live-cooking stations which prepare scramled or fried eggs according to you wishes. For lunch and dinner, a high variety of vegetarian and non-vegatarian food is offered. The taste is usually very good and some days I discovered new tasty foods I haven't experience before. The hotel also offers a decent variety of desserts (cakes, fruit, freshly made crepes). The drinks offered by the hotel are quite okay. Don't expect to get the best cocktails you have ever tasted in your life and you will be fine. It's not terrible, but I have seen better. Location (Port Ghalib): Port Ghalib is a small "tourist town" which mainly consists of some hotels and some bars and restauants in the port section. I think there's not too much to do outside in the direct vicinity of the hotel. It is convenient if you want to take a snorkeling or diving tour though, as there are many diving boats anchored at the port. If you like to get out of Port Ghalib, you can take a taxi or book a trip. We went to Luxor (whole day trip), the desert (quad bike tour) and Abu Dabbab beach. Luxor was quite far away, but the other two destinations were quite close. Staff: Last but not least, I would like to say a few words about the staff. Everyone, from reception to housekeeping and the waiters were friendly and hard-working. Some staff, especially the waiters, are clearly willing to go "the extra mile" to keep the guests happy. As you can also read in other reviews here on Tripadvisor, a waiter named Islam is definetly one of those guys. Even when it was busy in the restaurant, he always made sure that we have everything we need to feel comfortable and happy. He knew our favorite tables during dinner and he tried to make it possible we get them everytime. After two days, he remembered our favorite drinks and we didn't even have to ask for it. Staff like Islam are what really made us feel welcomed at the hotel. Also you can feel the hotel management is very eager to make sure that the guests feel comforable during their stay. Conclusion: Great hotel, great location for snorkeling and diving, great staff and perfect weather in April. We hope to come back in the coming years, but next time we will stay a few days longer.

The hotel is incredibly big, there is a lot of things you can use. Food is delicious and there is a ton of them, pools and waterslides are great. The best thing about this hotel is definitely the beach and the sea ( sea is transparent and clear and really warm which makes it really enjoyable to sit in it and swim) Last but not least is the huge and stunning coral reef.
