This was our first trip to Egypt, and it went exceptionally well. The hotel provided all the standard amenities, including great food and a fantastic pool. The rooms were of a very good standard, but what truly elevated the experience was the exceptionally friendly and hardworking staff. They were helpful and supportive throughout every part of our stay, even assisting with activities we organised outside the resort. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return in the future!

We stayed here for 3 nights before we started our tour of Luxor/Cairo, this was our first time in Egypt and we had heard very mixed things about what to expect from the country. The Star and Spar is located on Makadi bay, and is in a gated area along with other hotels which are part of the same chain. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was a little outdated and could do with a refresh however it was pleasant enough for our short stay. There is a great selection of food and drinks available and we found it all to be of a high standard and very tasty. There is also a bar at the beach and the staff will bring food and drinks over to you which is a nice touch. The staff are all very friendly and cannot do enough for you. It was my partners birthday while we were there, and they arranged for a cake to be brought out after our meal at Makai Tukai, which is in the Saraya hotel across the road. Special mention to Marco the barman who was especially attentive. As others have mentioned you do have to walk to the beach, but we didn’t find this troublesome as it’s not too far and the path meanders through a few of the other hotels owned by the same chain. The beach is divided into sections so each hotel has its own area of the beach with sun loungers available. There was also snorkel equipment that was free to use if you haven’t brought your own. It’s definitely worth snorkelling as the sea is very clear and there are quite a few different fish species to see. Overall we really enjoyed our time at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Hurghada.

“Top time Top place”

First time in Egypt and an absolutely Brilliant time, friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, fantastic food and service, from pool to kitchen, from entertainment to beach, they have it covered, I can’t thank them all enough, shukran 👌🇪🇬

This holiday was a birthday surprise present for my partner, all the staff were very friendly and I was happy with the service they provided. We went to 2 restaurants, a romantic dinner with a birthday cake and in room breakfast included on top of our all inclusive package. Our room was looked after by Fatouh from housekeeping during the most of our stay at which he went an extra mile in cleaning and designing our room up to the highest standard. There is a gym with basic equipment and it will get out through your workout. However, some of the equipment started wearing off and needs to be upgraded soon and this could pose a danger to other guests. The main pool can be very busy during the day and if you want to have a sunbed, you may need to get up early to make sure you get a spot and the same goes with the sunbeds by the beach as it seems that there aren't enough sunbeds for all the guests. We were fortunate enough to have a private pool in our room where we stayed most of the time. The private pool size was really good and it is a heated pool so guests can stay there whenever they want. Our private pool had a really nice and hot temperature for a few days when we arrived, however as the day went by, the pool started to become cold, especially during the night. We raised this issue with the maintenance and said that it was fine. I would recommend for the private pool to have a surrounding drainage system as the water can overflow on the tiled floor which can be very slippery and dangerous. Regardless of that we still enjoyed staying in our private pool most of the days. The staff were very attentive and friendly. They really tried their best to make our holiday perfect!
