Ocean Blue & Sand Beach Resort - All Inclusive

We stayed here from Mar. 5-11th, 2025. The Amazing: The resort itself is beautiful, and so well kept! The food at the restaurants was very good, Steakhouse and Sensai the Hibachi were amazing, italian not so much. Service at the buffet was never good, but at restaurants and coffee shop it was amazing. The "could be better": there are not enough loungers with shade at the pool unless you ignore the signs that say don't save a chair and just do it! The Cons: We had a concierge appointed to us, he only stayed around long enough to get us in for a timeshare pitch. This was by far the worst spent time at this resort, they told us 1 hr max and you get a massage. You can't get out of there before 2 hours and they start at $57K USD and drop to $7K at the bitter end - the massage is just a 20 min rub - not worth your time at all. The worst: There are no palapas, umbrellas or any form of shade from the sun at the beach. None. Not unless you pay the extra $75USDpp/pn for privelege. Only privelege customers have sun beds with shade. I mean not a single tree, not an umbrella, not a bit of shade. It was 30+ every day. We could not stay on the beach because of this. Other than that, the experience in this place was one of the best! Would we come back? Only if there are umbrellas on the beach. We have a pool at home, we go for the beach experience.

“Venders ruin the experience”

The hotel itself is pretty good. This is what I would consider a budget resort. This is not a knock on the facility, it’s what we expected for our first trip to the Dominican. The rooms were great. The staff was great and the food was pretty good. The buffet was adequate, full options. The restaurants were above par in our opinion. The only downfall for the week were the over aggressive venders the resort allowed in to harass the patrons. You had at least 10 tables set up with everybody having the same thing and you couldn’t walk past them without them aggressively coming over and trying to get you to buy their stuff. Keep in mind every table had the same thing. When you’re trying to get to your reservations for dinner and you have a 10 minute window these people were pretty annoying. I’m not talking about the people on the beach trying to sell you stuff …. I’m talking about the people that the resort allowed onto their property right outside. The restaurants Secondly, be prepared to be harassed by timeshare people. Now the resort is going to say these people do not work for them however, their offices are set up on the resort. So before oceans blue or the H 10 people come on saying we don’t have anything to do with those people… You obviously allow it. It would be a great place for a family on a budget had it not been for these inconveniences.
