Wonderful stay. Hotel was well maintained and very clean. Great variety of foods in the buffet and a la carte restaurants. Trolleys go by often however we preferred to walk and enjoy the outdoors. Pools were clean and tidy. You need to be down early to get a shady spot at the pool by the beach but away from the beach you didn’t need to be up as early. We didn’t use the kids pool area but it looked lovely. Wifi works in most spots especially if you are close to the rooms a little spotty if you’re away. Shows were good. We loved the Dominican party and the dancing. 10/10 recommend

Great resort! Rooms are clean and gorgeous, and the balconies are very nice. Residents stay in a villa, amongst a village of other villas, and the gate at the front makes the resort feel very safe. Bahia Principe employees drive residents to and from the beach/pools on trams, which are very fun to ride on, and they arrive very often, and even operate late into the night. This was super convenient and helped us save a lot of time on our way around the resort. The food was good at the buffet although one buffet did reek of a seafood smell. But the a la carte restaurants were awesome, we loved the italian and brazilian restaurants. The staff at the pool bar were friendly and fun, and all around the staff was very receptive and friendly. Lastly, we loved the activities! Karaoke, fire shows, and themed parties made the trip so much fun. Would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend. But be sure to bring bug spray - I was okay but a few of my friends got bit up by the mosquitos.

After I booked this resort and then read the reviews posted on here I was so scared and wanted to cancel. THANK GOODNESS I DID NOT!! this resort is beautiful and we had such a wonderful time. I will admit that I did end up upgrading our room to a renovated suite once we arrived at the resort. I saw too many negative reviews of the old rooms and didn't want to chance it. We ended up in Villa 8 which was perfect. Walking distance to the beach and a two minute trolley ride to the lobby/buffets. We even walked there often from our villa and it took 10 minutes max. Many spoke about sand fleas, we spent the majority of our days at the beach and never encountered one. We didn't lay directly on the sand, but would lay on the loungers provided. The only things you will encounter are venders lol. If you say no thank you they will respect that and move on. As for the mosquitos, yes they have some. During the day we never saw them, accept in the morning in the main lobby, and sometimes in the buffet. When I mean sometimes, I literally mean the odd one or two flying around. The evening is when they are most noticeable. Thankfully I came prepared with insect repellent and never got one bite!! I made sure my repellent had 30% deet and that did the trick. The staff works super hard and sometimes it shows on their faces in the main buffets. This is understandable though as hundreds of people pass through each hour, non stop. I would feel exhausted too. I never encountered a rude employee and they always helped with any request we had. Please do not get discouraged by the negative reviews, as you know nothing is perfect in life. I would give this resort 4 solid stars.

This is my 3rd visit to here admittedly after a 7 year gap which I visited solo but this time with my partner as his visit here, after ready recent reviews I knew it wasn’t going to be the same and yes some of the hotel areas are in need of improvement looking tired but they are in the start of a period of improvements so we will have to see. Our room was a premium which was perfect very clean and quiet. Food it’s an all inclusive so food prepared in vast quantities so obviously not restaurant standards but fine a large choice salads and tropical fruit lovely the cooked food is nearly always lukewarm. Try a la carte Garden Grill a highlight. Lastly the staff who work very hard like everywhere you get the odd unhelpful one mostly due to the language but the vast majority are brilliant especially in a crisis. So if you’re looking for a bit more luxury especially as a couple I suggest the Ambar or Esmeralda. But as they say you get what you pay for.
