Here is my review. Myself and wife stayed at Amber hotel for 2 weeks and I always like to give a review based on my opinion coming from England where we maybe a tolerate a little more than other regions of the world :o). The initial impression on arrival was very good and very welcomed by the reception desk and the porters who were always helpful on the buggies to take you from A to B. Room 70304 was clean and tidy. Only issue was the shower but fixed once reported. There is a button in telephone that you can ring any time if short of coffee, milk to anything a really nice touch from the hotel. The restaurants are very good, our favourite was The Meat and Greek Restaurant. The Indian 6 taster meal menu was very good also. The beach was great as was the swimming pool. The service at all bars was very good with premium drinks available at The Amber. I read other reviews and sometimes wonder if it is how you act to how you get served. I was brought up speak to people how you want to be spoken to yourself and never done me any harm, that mentioned left me with mostly a wonderful service. As for staff I didn’t really bond like I have with other hotels but I did get a great reception from a member of bar staff who took drink orders in main reception, her name I believe was Karina I think so a special thank you to you from us. The entertainment team were nice also and always encouraged you to join in. One member of staff I felt could improve his attitude was Carlos from the buffet beach restaurant and this was because he seemed like he didn’t want to be there, a little lazy and kept guests waiting with no real charm, but hey that maybe a little harsh, but again it was my opinion. Trips we went on were Coco Bongo, a must for all ages from 18 to 70 plus a real enjoyable time, this is our third time once in Mexico and twice at Punta Cana. We also went to Monkey World which was a half day trip, again all very well planned and managed by TUI. Other trips we did last year. We went to Royalton Hideway last year up the beach to the left and just around the corner, this hotel was far better in many ways albeit we warmed to the staff more at the Royalton but that maybe because it was so much smaller the resort. Would we go back to Amber, absolutely! I do hope this helps you with your choice and comfort in booking this resort. Regards Adrian and Anita Meadows.
