The resort was as expected. This was our third trip to punta Cana and this resort didn’t disappoint. People who complain about the premier service not being worth it probably didn’t use it. Example would be making early reservations to all the restaurants, we did this over a month in advance and had no issues. The bottle of rum was a good quality Barceló anjo. The beach was cleaned every morning so sea weed was minimal. Snorkeling in front of the resort was acceptable. We saw many types of fish including puffers,barracuda and also a sting ray, so watch your feet out there. Turtles were seen most days swimming in front of the resort we couldn’t get close to them underwater but about 5 feet away from us above water. Beach was also cleaned and organized each day. Plenty of chairs and trees provided enough shade. I would say main pool was over crowded some days. But both water parks were nice to escape to with bars next to each of them. The resort grounds are very big and can seem like allot of walking if that is an issue for you, they have a shuttle service with many stops. Grounds were very beautiful and well maintained and lush. Limestone everywhere that made for nice affect. Room was amazing, we had ocean front and it was just that…open the sliding door in the morning and it sounded like a sound track you play to relax with subtle sounds of waves and birds. Bars all had good drink choices and would recommend bringing your own cold beverage cup. No issues getting drinks made in them and kept drinks colder longer in the hot weather. Room was a bit dated but bed was very comfortable. A/c worked as expected, people have to understand basics, if you are on the forth floor and it’s 90f with 90% humidity outside the room can only get so cold. It was tolerable and got very cold at night when heat loads were lower. Safe didn’t work a quick call and about 20mins later or about 2 Dominican mins someone showed up and fixed it. Asked for more beer in the fridge left $5 for the person who filled the fridges and now I have a 12 pack instead of 4. Tip! Just a few dollars made big differences. Left $4 for the maid each day and room was cleaned spotless and I mean spotless. Food was as expected restaurants are better then the buffet. Many people complain about the food. Yes the American food was gross. But the other food was great. Squid and fish salads were amazing. Steak was as good as places like black angus or outback, not amazing but not bad. Buffet was ok.

This review is not about the entire hotel. This is about 1 snorkeling trip booked through the hotel. We were on a family vacation. 3 grandparents and 8 kids and 6 parents. We were sold a family snorkeling trip through the hotel by Jose. It was $60 per adult and $30 for children under 12. It was to be a trip from 1:30-5:30. The trip is called Taiguey. We paid the hotel for this trip. We asked Jose if this would be a good trip for six little kids and three older grandparents he said definitely. This was NOT a Family snorkeling trip. We got on the boat. They were playing vulgar music (itch get on you knees, I want to -uck -uck were some of the lyrics)so loud that we had to ask them if they could turn it down and play something else. They only did maybe 20 minutes of snorkeling then we headed to a shallow area. The shallow area was 5 feet deep and was a place for people to drink, do pot ( you can smell it in the air, plus guys on styrofoam trays were bringing hookah pot around to all the boats) and party. There were multiple couples grinding on each other. Even another passenger tried blocking my young son from seeing one couple. ( they were beyond graphic). The end of this lovely cruise was the cruise director ( I say this name loosely) having people come up and drink tequila out of a bottle. Nothing family about it. I would have never taken my 8 ,10,13 year old child on a booze cruise where people were grinding on each other. Waste of money. Don’t listen to the hotel representatives they lie to you.

As a guest when you approach someone who works there you feel like you are bothering them or interrupting their conversations with other employees. Sadly, some of the managers would ignore you also.
