“Great Family vacation”
We stayed 2/12-2/18/25: check in was super easy, we really liked Darby. Ocean view room was beautiful, with a patio to sit outside. Beds were “full” sized, rooms were clean. Bottled water was never lacking. Buffet was excellent every time. Some dishes repeated but others did not. Plenty of choices.… more

Bottled water was never lacking. Buffet was excellent every time. Some dishes repeated but others did not. Plenty of choices. Huge bread section, many dessert choices including ice cream, cakes, fruit, etc. We loved our Waiter Oscar. He helped make my daughter’s birthday extra special. We only went to one show, the co us one, and the performances were amazing, especially the strong men we didn’t find the drinks weak at all, in fact I had to tell a couple bartenders to ease up on the rum. We went to the French and Italian restaurants 1x ea and they were good as well. The pool was a bit chilly but once you got in it was fine Luis and Roberto at the pool bar are excellent and great personalities! I do wish there was a hot tub. The beach was nice but the water is not the teal blue. Sunset views were breathtaking! The girls looking to braid hair asked several times but a simple no gracias was all we had to say. My daughter and I went to the spa for the back and shoulders massage and we were pleased. The spa was beautiful and smelled amazing. My daughter did say she wished there were more things to do for teens but we did book 2 excursions through our shuttle company Amstar.

“Go to Teo’s bar”
Teo at the lobby (strawberry daiquiri) bar is the best bartender i’ve ever met!!! Not only does he make the best drinks but he’s a genuine good person and not afraid to have fun with the guests. Ask him for the “Teo Special” and you won’t be disappointed.

“Vacation Week”
We had a few miscommunications with staff over getting taxis booked, dinner reservations, housekeeping schedule but nothing major. We had a few miscommunications with staff over getting taxis booked, dinner reservations, housekeeping schedule but nothing major. The rooms are dated and need an update but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. One quick update they could make that isn't a huge investment are the kayaks and paddleboards available for use. They are old, paddles are broken, and it really made you not want to bother. The pool area is lovely and the staff did a lot of fun activities for kids. Even a foam cannon at one point which the kids loved.

I would advise people to go elsewhere. There were some positives which included the food and the entertainment team. The team went out of the way to make sure that people had a good time with a variety of activities. The food in the restaurant and the snack bar was always very good. However, the rooms need quite a bit of updating in the grounds overall or lacking. It's simply is not a modern hotel if that's what you're looking for. In addition, while many of the staff members were pleasant and welcoming some like Denisse Calcano were grumpy and rude at the bar. I did have a good trip but that was because I just sat on the beach all day. For the hotel itself.... I would not return.
