My favorite place for my vacations I never get tired of returning, here I find more than excellent service, a great family, there are varieties of daytime activities on the beach and the pool that are totally good. The shows at night always exceed expectations, very good in organization and their artists are totally professional. There were a few rainy days but the activities never stopped, with a spectacular karaoke time at the snack bar. Say hello to Melisa and Karla from entertainment

“Lived up to my expectations”

This is my first day at the Sol Varadero Beach resort. I chose it because of the fantastic reviews and because it was 16+. My stay was from October 12 - 28, 2024. As it turns out my first stay here coincided with the blackout in Cuba. The blackout lasted the better part of four days. I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the way the resort handled the whole situation. The hotel apparently has its own generator so, while we did have a few very minor outages here they were barely noticeable - Some definite challenges with the Internet, but the only real major issue with the lack of air conditioning for three or four days. I’m not sure if this could’ve been managed better or not but it all honesty with that being the only issue I can’t really complain. Spoke to several other people who had been at other resorts. Their resorts were totally blacked out for days and they were moved over to the Sol Varadero. Despite the challenges at home, the staff were friendly and smiling. All of them were without electricity and water for days, but you never would’ve known it The buffet was good. It was repetitive and there wasn’t a huge variety, but what was there was tasty. I tried three of the a la cartes and thoroughly enjoyed all three - Mexican, Italian and Cuban. remember, you’re coming to Cuba and the embargo‘s are impacting their ability to get certain things so keep your expectations realistic when it comes to food. In my book as long as it’s hot and tasty, I’m happy. The rooms are nice. I haven’t been here before, so I have no basis of comparison, but they appear to be renovated. All very clean although some of the showerheads could use some work 🚿 The pool is great, especially if you’re not a real swimmer. The deepest part of it is 1.25M so nobody’s going to drown in it. The entertainment has been great. I’ve really enjoyed the musicians. Overall, I think it’s a great resort. If you’re looking for an adult only place in Cuba, I highly recommend the Sol Varadero Beach

“Relaxing time!”

It was a lovely relaxing time for me. The staff was warm and welcoming. Food and drinks were plenty. The beach is gorgeous!!! It was warm clear and calm!! Beach was very clean!!!!

We stayed in September 2024 in the Superior rooms, and it turned out to be a great choice since most standard Sol rooms are poorly located—facing the pool or bar, making them noisy and with bad views. Overall, we really liked the hotel. It’s clearly better than the neighboring ones and offers great value for money. Let me share the pros: 1. **Superior Building**: The rooms were great, with comfortable beds, modern decor, and a nice view from the balcony. The beach is also very close. 2. **Bar**: The bar service deserves top marks! The bartenders are excellent, whether tipped or not. Cocktails and rum were fantastic! 3. **Restaurant Service**: The service in the restaurant was very good, with friendly staff always offering drinks and promptly clearing the tables. 4. **Beach Area**: A huge, stunning stretch of white sand with a gentle slope into the water and no seaweed. 5. **Cleaning**: Pretty decent, and they mopped the floors, which is important. Our room was kept clean. 6. **Food**: Probably some of the best food along the coast compared to other hotels, though it’s still far from the standards of the Dominican Republic or Turkey. The fruit, ice cream, eggs, and chicken were tasty and fresh. However, I didn't like the overcooked pasta (why make a mountain of tasteless pasta?), some overly salty dishes, and we occasionally found stones in the rice. Despite that, we always managed to find something delicious! Now for the cons: 1. **Broken Beach Loungers**: Many of the loungers on the beach were broken or sagging—like a pile of junk. It would be better to reduce the number of loungers and buy better quality ones. Even on the ones that weren’t broken, it was uncomfortable to lie down. I weigh 60 kg, and I could feel the plastic under my back. 2. **Lionel, Guest Services Staff**: Rude and dishonest. I can’t understand how they employ someone like him. Instead of helping, he tried to deceive us. We had to argue to get assistance for things that weren’t working. A very unpleasant person! 3. **Cleanliness of Bedding**: Left a lot to be desired. Stains everywhere, and they didn’t change the sheets. We arrived to find bedding that hadn’t been changed after the previous guests. We had to ask late at night to have it replaced. 4. Minor Issues: The foot showers—please increase the water pressure; it’s impossible to wash your feet properly. The beach wasn’t cleaned very thoroughly either. A condom was lying there for several days—curious if it’s still there? They set up loungers and pick up large trash, but cigarette butts and smaller litter remain. All in all, we were happy with our stay. The amazing weather and stunning ocean are hard to beat. The entertainment is very weak, but for us, the main attraction was the ocean.
