This was my 2nd time at Sol Varadero Beach Resort. First time was a few years back during covid under much different circumstances. This time the hotel was just as in good condition as I had remembered. Overall a great experience! Before I even got there, Aleydis in reservations had contacted me to straighten out a mistake on my part she caught on one of my bookings. She corrected it and had me assured all would go smoothly when I arrived. Massage was well worth the hour out of the day. Their in house physiotherapist worked my muscles well. And I felt super relaxed after. Had a lot of rain while there which rendered the AC in section of building I stayed and my room without any cold air at all for 3 nights. However, Jorge Ernesto helped resolve the problem and moved us to other side of building where AC was functioning. If not, I surely would’ve melted lol. Jorge and Lionel also made sure my reservations at the International restaurant was very well catered as it was a special family member’s birthday. Everything was to much our satisfaction. Gracias por todo! Highly recommend!

“An absolutley fabulous gem of a resort. Don’t hesitate book now.”

I was so pleasantly surprised about this resort. While it’s only rated a 4 star it is definitely operating as a 4.5 star, if not higher. I had the pleasure of staying at this gem of a resort from May 26 until June 9 and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint and exceeded my expectations. To give you perspective, I have visited Cuba several times in the past 1.5 years and by far my favorite. This is a small quiet resort. Exactly what me and my partner were looking for. The resort grounds are so well kept and it is beautiful. I had a standard room and it was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The room was modern and the bed was super comfy. Arelis Hdeo was beyond excellent in taking care of the room everyday, ensuring it’s cleanliness and she was always so pleasant. Thank you so much. The food was better than the Cuba standard. We didn’t experience any shortages. We had bacon, eggs and lots of bread every morning, even apples and pears were in abundance. White, red and sparkling wines were also available. The buffet was great every day for lunch and supper. You have no difficulty finding something yummy to eat. Also the desserts were great and of course ice cream. The Beach is beyond five stars. It was gorgeous and the best that I have been to in Cuba. Now for the stars. I have to give a big thank you to Norleidys Padrón Hernández in public relations. She was excellent in answering all of my questions before and during my stay. We had very specific requests and she was able to provide contacts for us. She was very helpful and caring in dealing with us. Thank you for helping us with all of our enquiries and taking good care of us during our stay. I have to say that Melany in public relations was equally fabulous. She was so pleasant, kind and was able to help with our requests as well. She was very accommodating. Thank you so much for contributing to making our vacation so amazing and memorable. Norleidys and Melany, you made our vacation outstanding. We look forward to returning to the resort in the next few months. For those of you who are on the fence about this resort, don’t be! Book it right away! It is beautiful, quiet, has great food and of course the heart of the resort are the kind and amazing Cuban people. Cuba you have my heart.

“Good accomodations, the food was a mixed bag”

The installations are kept impeccably clean, there is WiFi, the pool can be a bit noisy in the morning (nobody wants loudspeakers blasting bachatas and reggaeton at 10 AM around the pool). The installations are kept impeccably clean, there is WiFi, the pool can be a bit noisy in the morning (nobody wants loudspeakers blasting bachatas and reggaeton at 10 AM around the pool). The food was edible but you'll have the same dishes day in day out, be prepared to drink Tang-like concoctions instead of natural orange juice or pineapple juice; the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed but perhaps you should bring your own pillows. The staff is for the most part helpful and courteous, 95 percent of them I would say. The pool area is well kept. Lunchtime at the Rancho can be a chaotic experience given that there are not enough tables available and the guests tend to overstay at the tables (particularly if they come from Argentina, as I experienced) not giving a flying flamingo if other guests are walking around trying to get a table so they can also eat their lunch; nevertheless, the food is better at the Rancho, than at the buffet, I think. The entertainment... well, it's Cuba so expect lots of loud tropical music from dusk to midnight. The beach area makes up for all the other shortcomings, though.
